I ordered a cell phone from Affinity Cellular on 9/10/2022. When I received the phone I could not get it activated, call them for help and they were not very helpful. I needed a transfer number to activate phone which I could get. Then I asked them if they could transfer all my information from the old phone and they said I would have to do that, which I do not know how to do. They started telling me all these technical terms which I did not understand. When I called to order the phone they said they would take care of transferring everything.

I was also told the phone could be returned if I was not satisfied. When I call and said I wanted to return the phone I was told that I used over my data amount, which I don't know how I did that because I could not get the phone connected. She said just keep the phone you paid for it. I asked if there was a store near by that I could take the phone she said they don't have any brick and mortar stores. As it turned out I cannot get any money back until the first bill comes out in October. They advertise 100% money back guarantee which is not true. I received the first bill that showed $135.98 charge for phone and $44.37 charge for usage. I had sent an email to the company and got a reply from a supervisor she said they approved the return of the phone, which I thought meant that I would get a refund. When I received my bill I called to see if I was going to get credit for the phone and the usage. I was on hold for about 1/2 hour. They finally said I would get credit for the usage but not the phone because it was cracked on the back. There was no crack on the back when I mailed it back to them. After dealing with them for a few days I thought they would find something that was not right so they would not have to give me back the money for the phone. The phone is a rebuilt phone not a new one. I think it is so sad that they advertised this through AAA and AARP. It's just another way of taking advantage of senior citizens. It is just a scam. I am now out $135.98. Unfortunately I did not think to take a picture of the phone before I sent it back, lesson learned.
