I recently flew with Etihad. My experience with Etihad was great. I'd recommand the airline to my friends. However my experience with staff at Ahmedabad airport was terrible. All the staff is rude and ignorant.
Specially Rikin Patel. He was the rudest person I've ever seen. My flight was at 4.45am. I showed up at the checking counter at 3.15am and I was told that they've closed the counter already and will only open if I agreed to pay.
Then Rinkin told me that I wont be allowed to get on board my flight. After a long discussion, he finally agreed to take my laugage and start the on boarding process. Which took about 30mins for him. Then I was rushed to the security, and then to the flight by Etihad staff. I finally boarded my plane at 3.55am. And then they kept me waiting in the place from 3.55am till 4.45am which was the actual flight time.
I do not understand the rush to close the counter super early and putting enormose pressure on me to just leave and book another flight just because the person is too lazy to open the counter again. If this was only me I'd understand but Rikin Patel was rude to other passengers as well who were checking in with me.
He was yelling at another lady for not paying up cash for her laugage, even though he saw that everyone is looking at him. He kept saying he's got 3 years of experince in this field so we can do what he says or just get lost. Such poor customer service. I would wish that airport authority take proper steps to discipline the staff at Ahmedabad airport.

Same person but different experience ..it just happened today morning when i was about to board johannesburg flight via etihad, on check in counter first they wasted my time for counting laptop bag and hand bag weight 7 kg(which i never been asked st emirstes chrck in counter) then they said my passport is not taken by their system as i m the illega person to board the flight, , and same person was bothering me by asking me about my visa as its hand written ( south african work permit) he was inquiring like he is an immigration officer who is seeing me as suspicious immigrant.. they wasted time and finaly he told me they try to contact johannesburg immigration authority they said my details are not on their system, , i came out and went in again to ask about ticket refund and i found one ankther person named mr ahmed who told me that they tried to contact johannesburg authorities but noone has responded their fon cal meanwhile rickin came and he also responded same, .within five minutes he changed his statement. If their system is not accepting my passport then how the hell other airline systems never bothered me? I never had any issue with emirates ever i think this guy tricked me and ruined my chances to rejoin my job their ..

Aready forwarded complain details request id is 579950. Still havent got any proper feedback on it . No any other details why my etihad system was not able to let me board on the plane, given excuse that it might be issue from johannesburg immigration as your etihad system is connected / integrated with immigration system which can not allow a passanger if visa is not valid, , and check in counter person me rickin patel stated a blinder that " we will let you know when i can rebook the ticket " why ? Why should repay a ticket if first time your system couldnt detect my passport details? Then how it could be working if revook my ticket and paying extra for that booking ? To fill in etihad's account ? At least train your employees woth good manners, , specifically this person rickin patel who was telling me by holding my passport and looking at visa stamp like immigration officer and telling me i may not be allowed feom joburg airport, and wasting time of passangers, and telling that he is having 4 years of experience in this field and he knows everything and what could happen with this kind of visas, , come on you are not immigration office who can decide what will happen what will not happen, ,
