I got a beautiful Burmese boy on October 5th, 2015 from Annette Maze at Hill Country Farms in Spicewood, Texas. I had to euthanize my baby today at 12.5 months of age. He had FIP and I ended his suffering before it became excruciating. I have done research into this woman since my baby started to fall ill last week and have seen that quite a few people have purchase kittens from her and they have all died within months of FIP. This breeder needs to be stopped. I have contacted her and she denies that any of her cats are carriers. My boy also had cryptorchidism, which is a genetic anomaly. A reputable breeder would not breed cats with this mutation. Reports also show that she releases her “undesirables” into the wild and people have picked up pure bred Burmese with cryptorchidism within 1/4 mile of her remote farm. I can only hope that by contacting as many people as possible that this breeder is shut down so that other families don’t go through this amount of pain and no more kittens are brought into the world only to suffer a painful death soon after.

I also got two FIP positive kittens from Annette. No one should have to go through the pain of watching these babies fight so hard to stay alive at no avail. I don’t understand why the Burmese cat association has not shut her down!

Oh, no. I appreciate this information. We're in absolute tears to see this because it means there's very serious problems behind it all. We're so sorry & just devestated to hear all this. It's very disheartening.
Annette Maze is not a malicious money maker. She has always been very eccentric & easily misunderstood. We have known the Maze family for over 80+ years as they're ranchers like my family. We're 8th generation Central Texans in Spicewood & Burnet County. Our great grandparents knew one another.
We have 2 of her Burmese, now. 4 total over time and ours were/ still are always in perfect health. Currently, our female & male are 7 & 6 years of age. We also know others who own Maze Burmese that are in perfect condition. I don't know what on Earth happened. This is so shocking for us to see.

It's my understanding that she's not actively selling. Her website is gone. Again, she does have a very eccentric personality and last I knew had some very, very serious health problems. I believe her communication w greatly effected by these problems. I don't believe her cattery is active any longer.
As part of this community, I will find out & have my cousin who is the local vet check on the animals. We will find out what's happened.
I know this doesn't take away the suffering. I've lived on a ranch all my life and while we birth many different animals, we know how hard it is to care for them through illness and give them the most comfortable death. Many years before my Burmese I got from Annette, 2 of my cats died of FIP. It is a miserable experience. My most sincerest condolences are with you.
