This brand is misleading their customers. After doing extensive (I thought) 2-day research, I decided to upgrade from the Arlo 2 to the Arlo Pro 5s 2K cameras. Not on the Amazon website, not on the official Arlo website there was a word about a subscription payment plan. After the 30-day "free trial" my cameras went black. And guess what, Amazon has a 30-day return policy, so I couldn't return them after finding out that I need to pay a monthly fee.
Here's me, thinking I paid hundreds of dollars for an upgraded model, to find myself without pay-free options that I had on the previous models, such as a 7-day recording on the Arlo 2. With the Arlo Pro 5s 2K you get 0 days and 0 clips of the recorded videos.
After chatting with customer support for a couple of hours, best they could do is to sell me another product, the "Arlo SmartHub" that requires a USB drive, where you can only see the videos when connected to the home Wi-Fi. Who needs that? I can look outside the window for free. Now I have 3 Arlo Bricks.
Anyway, don't follow this brand, don't purchase it, there are much better options out there.
