I agree, Aviva, Crawfords, Insure repair, Asprea, these companies are totally lacking in manners, professionalism, courtesy, understanding, my roof leak caused by storm damage was called in on the 22.1.10(morning) and it is now 24.1.10 (evening), all they have done is to pass me from one lackadaisical company to another more incompetent company.
How hard is it to arrange for someone to carry out repairs on a roof, all the responses I received were that I would have to arrange and pay for the work to be carried out myself, and that the monies for the work carried out may not be reimbursed.
Why do I pay these cretins an insurance policy, when they want myself to do their work for them. I have e-mailed who I can just now and the ombudsman too

Dear Friends,

I was also sold the a Aviva policyby Punjab and Sind bank stating that the policy is for three years and I paid them 72k as 3 premiums. And when I went to claim my money after 3 years I was told that the policy is Life long. I am already 62 years old. I don't understand from where I will pay the premiums for another 10years as Aviva executives asked me to continue the policy. If someone has any resolution please update me on my sons email which is ajeetsingh81@gmail.com.

I would really appretiate any help.

A day after the country’s capital market regulator SEBI banned 14 private insurance companies from raising fresh money through ULIPs, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) Saturday said the companies can move the court against the ban.

In an apparent show of its opposition to the SEBI’s move, the insurance sector regulator said it was yet to receive a copy of the SEBI order.

IRDA further said it would meet the restrained insurance companies including SBI Life, ICICI Prudential and Tata AIG, but the date of the meeting has not been decided.

SEBI Friday night banned the 14 insurers from raising money from public for any Unit Linked Insurance Products, saying the entities have not obtained any registration from the regulator though the ULIPs launched by them had an investment component in the nature of mutual funds.

"I hereby direct the entities...not to issue any offer document, advertisement, brochure soliciting money from investors or raise money from investors by way of new or additional subscription for any product (including ULIPs) having an investment component in the nature of mutual funds, till they obtain the requisite certificate of registration from SEBI, " said Prashant Saran, wholetime SEBI member in an order.

The other insurance companies against whom SEBI passed an order are Aegon Religare Life, Aviva Life, Bajaj Allianz, Bharti AXA, Birla Sunlife, HDFC Standard Life, ING Vysya Life, Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life, Max New York Life, Metlife India and Reliance Life.

The order said ULIPs launched by the insurance companies were prima facie found to be akin to the mutual fund schemes.

While the SEBI regulates mutual funds and their schemes, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) oversees functioning of insurance companies.

Aviva India is the biggest fraud company in the world.I took a policy from them when one of the misleading advisors told us that you have to take the policy for 20 yrs but the lock in period is 3 years.Every year I paid Rs 54000 for the same .At the end of three years the investment seemed to be not yielding anything .When I inquired to my shock I was told out of the 54000/- each year the first 3 years they deduct 25000/ as fees and ivest only half the amount (no disclosure of this at the time of sigining).Inspite of this after 3 yrs of investing Rs 162000 the Unit amount wasa mere 10000/- more after they had invested only half of the amount. When I submitted cancellation request I was told I would get a few thousand deductedhereand there and rest amount approx 170000 would come to me by the Andherei Mumbai office.A few months down I receivea cheque of Rs 112000...which is believe it or not Rs 50000/ less than the entire investment...frget the profit andfees and they cust ...they actually paid 50000 less than what I had invested...I have written to TR.ramacahandran theirr CEO, , Nisha Menon their operations manager but all I got was a standards [censor] reply that fine print says all...AVIVA INDIA IS A CHEAT...A RAMAPANT FRUAD..THATS WHY NOW THEY ARE IN THE RBI BLACKLIST...WHAT THE HELL IS THE LAW IN OUR COUNTRY FOR WHEN SUCH A LARGE COMPANY CAN SO BLATANTLY CHEAT ITS CUSTOMERS...NEVER DROWN UR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE...AVIVA IS A FRAUD

AVIVA INDIA IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD IN INSURANCE IN INDIA.

Took Policy witha 3 year lock in(supposedly) --20 yr policy

Premium Amount -Rs 54000/-

Total Premium paid-162000/-

Returns showing minimalyear after year so check with Mumbai Andheri branch .Shocked to be informed the first time that out of Rs 54000/ each year only half the amount was invested that why hardly any returns showing.

After 3 years amount for the unit was showing as Rs 172000/..So Aviva the fraud that they are ...they pocketed Rs 75000/ for 3 years by sheer cheating and misinformation.Inspite of that the policy showed an amount of Rs 172000 which was Rs 10000 more than invested amount.

By the sheer revelation that we were cheated of almost Rs 75000 as fees we decided to withdraw from the policy. We were told the amount is 172000/ so a few thousand will be deducted as fes and the remaining amount will come to you.
Now to our shock and surprise we receive a cheues of Rs 112226/ whic is Rs 50000/- lesser even than our invested amount ?

So for 3 years we pay AVIVA RS 54000/ into 3=162000/- OUT OF WHICH THEY INVEST ONLY HALF EVERY YEAR AND POCKET THE REST AS FEES...
AFTER 3 YEARS INSPITE OF STILL MAKING A MEAGRE PROFIT OF 10000/ OVER 3 YEARS (WAY LESS THAN THE LEAST FD DEPOSIT BY BANKS)...THEY DEDUCT rS 50000/ ADDITIONAL AS CANCELLATION FEES EVEN THOUGH WE COMPLETED THE LOCK IN PERIOD OF 3 YEARS.

IN EFFECT THEY HAVE POCKETED rS 75000/ AS FEES FOR FIRST 3 YEARS PLUS AND ADDITIONAL rS 50000/ FOR CANCELLLATION.

"RAMPANT FRAUD BY A BIG INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALL EMAIL S TO THEYIR CEO TR.RAMACHADRAN AND THEIR OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE NISHA MENON TO NO AVAIL ...NEVER BUY AVIVA...EXPOSE THEIR FRAUD...DONT SIT UIET...GOOGLE AND YOU WILL SEE THEIR FRAUDULENT STORIES ALLOVER

I agree AVIVA is a FRAUD. And im amazed at how our system is blind to it. Their agent sold a 30 year policy to my parents at 54 yrs of age. They were told about the 3 year lockin period, but nothing about the huge deductions that will be made.
I would like to participate in the protest.

Datta

Yes, there is no doubt that AVIVA is a fraud company. I took 3 policies from Aviva. 2 for my sisters and 1 for me. They were monthly policies. 2 policies were of 3k each per month and 1 for 2k per month. As the Sales Manager told me, after 3 years i.e. the locking period is over, we can surrender the policy, then we will get some huge profit above the paid premium i.e. 3k X 36 months = Rs. 1, 08, 000 x 2 policies = Rs. 2, 16, 000. Now, when I inquired I was told that if I surrender the policies now, I will get half of the premium paid i.e. 1, 08, 000 for 2 policy premium amount i.e. Rs. 2, 16, 000.
Another interesting thing is how come a role model and icon like Sachin Tendulkar, who declined(on moral & ethical grounds) an endorsement involving huge money just because it is a liquor brand, think that it will give a wrong message to the public would be a brand ambassador for Aviva!
I am ready to fight against Aviva any time sooner...

Wow... This company is great. All the adjectives fall short to explain. This a live example on how corruption empowers the thugs. What to expect in a country where rapist go free. This joker will go to court and take refuge. Law is his best refuge. He blatantly cheated all and enjoys the show of grief by innocent. Keep abusing this company and that is all we can. And god gave us IRDA too. Fraud is short - its much worse.
