Wow how disgusting is this Kirk guy! He's digging his own grave by posting insane, abusive, threatening and immature comments on here about teachers who express dissatisfaction with him (which is their RIGHT to do!). No one in their right mind would ever sign a contract with him after googling his company and then seeing the craziness he posted online. All he's accomplished is to prove that these teachers' accusations are true. I've never had any personal contact with smartkurve, but former smartkurve teachers will be happy to hear that their campaign against the agency is working because since moving to Bangkok recently I have been warned 3 separate times (once by a teacher and twice by 2 different agencies I interviewed with) to stay away from smartkurve AT ALL COSTS and that they are the worst scam agency they have ever known to exist.

At the request of other ESL placement agencies and Teaching job boards here in Thailand. We have been asked to investigate this company to see it is legit and legal, and is anyway a sub-contractor or a franchise of yours as they claim to be. Some of the main reasons is the director of three of the above recruitment agencies Kirk Phatumanun a citizen of Thailand has received a lot of complaints about his business practices, from extortion, to theft of personal property, miss leading advertisement, threats against schools, teachers and other staff members.
We have contacted governmental offices in the state of Minnesota to verify his Limited Liability corporation registration and received a response form one of the staff members about it not even being registered! Furthermore we contacted the city where their other business is believed to be registered, and there is no listing.

Next was Exact Academy...and now: fraudulent job or teacher agent or agency Quest or Quest language center or school?! Amazing Thailand!

Thanks for the info Somying, we need to reveal as much info about this fraudulent company as possible. Although i have actually recieved documents that seem to suggest that Smartkurve and Edknovate are actually registered companies, though, who knows, they could be forgeries. I know that a lawyer has also been provided with this information, i will post here when i hear of any updates. Also, here is this guy's ID:

Lucky for Thais it doesn't really matter if names are registered or not...so many companies don't have their name registered! Although Kirky stands out a bit these days. He must be a natural scammer?! It's in his blood, or i guess it runs in the family? The teacher placement agency is that of ‘Smartkurve’ or as one of its other aliases ‘ESLThailand’, ‘MEPPLUS’, ‘Edknovate’ and ‘Axiom Recruitment’.
All are run by and individual known as Kirk Phatumanum who has built up the unenviable reputation of scamming foreign teacher which is so prolific that it has forced him to change the company name on several occasions.
In a recent investigation it now looks like Kirk Phatumanum now has yet another set of companies; including ‘Double Knowledge’ and ‘Quest Club’ but there might be more.
During the investigation we took a look at complaintsboard website which details a number of very disgruntled, angry and disillusioned foreign teachers; all of whom have had dealings with Kirk Phatumanum and his scam.

Please be aware of this company, I worked for this company up until last month when they were using the name QUEST CLUB. I was never paid, along with other teachers, Only after taking up employment did i realise that this has happened to all other teachers. They are now using the name ESLThailand.

They are advertising to work at many schools, I worked at a school in SIAMSQUARE named CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL, and in one year 17 teachers left because they were never paid. Yes it is a top tier school but that makes no different when you are not being paid.

Please be aware of KIRK pathumanun or phatumanun, the owner and scam artist.

There are over 30 teachers currently signed up to a labour office court case against him because of never being paid.

That's a lot of money. A sad truth by now that still teachers end up with this job agency looking for work in Thailand. I'll bet you informed the school about this issue and I'll bet the school paid kirk pathumanun anyway?! Nice business for both. they don't loose more money and they don't do more work...or at least not more work than normal. The teacher is doing alllllllllllllllll the work and doesn't get a dime! The agent makes money, or even very good money, the school just pays the agent from their budget they normally would have anyway (some tea-money for the director for keeping agent) or they keep the money if a teacher is fired after doing work directly with the school. We should in the first place never choose an agency and before we start at a school we should check it out online. I hope you do but probably you will never see that money again.
