I recently acquired a single size electric bed. The head and foot portions can be elevated/lowered for comfort and assistance in getting in and out of the bed. I contacted several moving companies as I have severe limits in lifting, carrying and pushing. I made arrangements AYC Moves to move this bed from a Care home in St Catherines to my home in Welland (ON). I received an email estimate of $350.00 and paid $200.00 deposit. The move was scheduled for 10 Feb 2022. Late in the afternoon the bed was loaded and ready for delivery. I received a phone call rom the Movers Office stating I would have to pay an additional charge of $450.00. I asked why but did not receive any kind of explanation. When the movers arrived at my home, they would not unload the bed until the charge was paid. I paid the senior mover and planned to speak with there office contact person the next day. I called the next morning and the individual was shocked to her this news. No one was available from the billing section so I was informed they would be advised to call me. When they did I was told that management authorized a $200.00 refund. I said that was not acceptable, asked to speak to management but was told she is in charge and thats, that. I told her that if that was the case I would file a complaint with the BBB. I was told that if I chose to make a complaint that she would not be actioning my refund. I have not heard from AYC Moves since..
Desired outcome: I would like a reund and explanation of the additional charges.

DO NOT BOOK THE=IS IS A SCAM!
I contacted this company about a move from Brampton Ontario to Antigonish Nova Scotia, and spoke with a sales person Gabreilla who at the time was very helpful. I had numerous contact with her and was very interested in having this company do my move for me. I was moving March 31/22 and on March 21/22 I had called all 3 numbers I have for this company and all three said they had been disconnected, I started to panick. I sent an email and within 2 mins they called me back telling me that she was very sick and her phone was messed up. I spoke with someone else who directed me that Gabreilla would call me back later that day which she did not. I called the next day a few times where 2 of the numbers would ring and then when went to answering machine it said that voicemail was not set up. again I sent an email and 2 mins later I receive a call. I told the lady how I felt and asked for the location, she told me Scarborough and when I asked for address she put me on hold and Brian who said he was the manager came on the line where he gave me his direct cell number and finally the address. I had someone go to this address and it was all empty buildings and no AYC Move Company. SO PLEASE THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. I was lucky I did not send any money or come my moving day I would have been stranded.
Hi Margaret,
You had spoken with me in regard to this move. I had advised you that gabriella was sick which she was, she was out for a whole week. We advised you that the address we are giving you is our warehouse as our office is closed due to COVID, our employees do not want to come in, which is completely understandable. You stated that it was all empty buildings, which is not true, there are 3 plazas at our address and each one of them are either offices or warehouses, so please before posting wrong information, maybe double check as we had no issue with providing you our information and in making you feel comfortable but you chose the latter and that's okay with us but whats not okay is you providing false information in regard to our company.
Have a good day.
Thank you
I think what’s not ok you [censored] is sending people quotes and then not at all honouring that quote, adding a ton of extra fees after they have loaded your belongings, and then threatening to basically steal belongings if you don’t pay an outrageous amount upfront before they even arrive at your new address. What’s also not ok is doing other moves on the same day as your own move and having other peoples belongings inside the same truck. Not ok to have your movers smoking cigarettes on their break inside of the truck that your belongings are on either. I hope you and Mindy and Gabriella and whomever else works at your [censored] [censored] company get slowly eaten by crocodiles and the owner [censored] Cemal Ozturk gets a raging case of herpes with non stop blistering sores and then falls down off a building and lands on a bicycle with no seat. Go to hell all you lying sacks of [censored].
Lies, lies, lies. Everything you people say is a lie. There is nothing false about the criminal activity your "company" engages in. It's utterly disgusting.
Don't forget about the other scumbag Dogan Celik. He's the "director" of the "company".

In regard to the original complaint Mr. Paulin has received his funds and this matter is now closed.
Apparently, this is an ongoing scamming practice of theirs. They too pry on older, senior adults. Yes, give that scamming low ball estimate and add an additional $2,000. and more and refuse to remove the furniture. Taking items that are not belonging to the person who they moved. ( Police will be called). Right On Track Moving.. yah this now will go to media. Make the public aware...and we have the proof!

SCAM ALERT! AYC Move is currently holding my nephew's belongings for ransom. He was quoted $575 for his move from Milton to Toronto and now are demanding he pay $4,300 or they will not release his belongings. The total weight of his items does not come close to the weight they are claiming. There is only enough furniture to fill a tiny downtown apartment. They are charging numerous bogus service fees. I have tried to contact Mindy in the "accounting department" (who was incredibly rude to him) and her number has conveniently been disconnected. DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS! Police and media are being contacted.
Exactly same thing happened to me today (June 3rd, 2022). I wish I was knowing the name AYC which was shown only before signing the form which quoted wrongly for 1500 lbs even though I have received email quote for 1000lbs.
Right track movers who initially spoke to me and quoted a price. But it’s all different company who arrived yesterday to pick up my belongings. Right track movers quoted for 600$. Yesterday before picking my stuffs, AYC (which I didn’t expect to be a different company) forced me to sign 925$ and rest I can speak to the Accounting team. Today I received an invoice for 2495$ adding some unexpected charges.
Accounting team Lisa is really rude to me stating your belongings will be released only after the complete payment. I do not need the delivery. I just need my items back. I am ready to pay them travel charges even though I have paid 200$ deposit
The scammers have been arrested: https://www.blogto.com/city/2022/06/toronto-police-bust-wild-moving-scam-ransom/
I am also a victim. I had no idea there were moving scammers out there……ugh!
I was quoted a price of somewhere around $6000 for 14000 pounds - moving from Ottawa to Nova Scotia. My experience has been a nightmare from start to finish - although it is most certainly not finished. First the company sent the wrong truck……smaller than I asked for, and of course everything didn’t fit. They sent a second truck the next day, and were supposed to be there at 7 am, arrived at 10 and were supposed to take three hours and took 8 hours. My house closing in NS was today, and I had to do it virtually, with a bunch of additional fees. And stay in a hotel, etc etc etc. Lots of inconvenience and additional expenses on my side for me and for people I’ve hired for help in NS.
Now they are trying to charge me…..wait for it…..$20,000. If I didn’t accept the flat rate it would be by cubic feet - at a ridiculous rate of something like 245 or something for each cubic foot. As if size and weight have anything to do with one another.
There is no proof of the actual weight either, although I maybe stupidly signed for the weight because the mover said they’d really gouge me if i didn’t accept that quote. The email agreement says they will go to the nearest scale but the “contract” the movers made me sign says that if there isn’t a scale with it 16 (or something) km, and I don’t accept flat rate estimate, it is the ridiculous cubic foot estimate.I’m en route to NS and pretty unhappy - as if moving from one province to another isn’t stressful enough.
I believe they will try to hold my goods hostage tomorrow - and someone mentioned Gabriella - yep, she was nice, but obviously part of the whole scam. I am chatting with my lawyer buddy tomorrow, he’s a criminal lawyer but sure he’ll be happy to step in. I am hoping to resolve this with the company but very much fear I’m in for a long battle.
It is predatory business practices and bullying……if i do have to pay to ransom my goods, my lawyer and his partners will decimate this company, and they will be paying me much more than i pay them. And where do they think someone has 14,000 extra over the estimate hanging around to pay such a ridiculous demand? I don’t even know if I’d have that on any of my cards at this moment - I’m moving FFS!
Anyhow……i certainly hope this is resolved, and see above the company has responded, so I would very much appreciate a response myself ASAP.
Many thanks,
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer - any luck with your lawyer friend? I'd be happy to chat with them as well.
Hi Trisha,
Not yet, haven’t even managed to speak to him yet. I don’t know whether to pay and try to get my stuff back…its a total nightmare. Not sure I understand re you speaking with them? You mean my lawyer? Or……?
Thanks,
Jennifer
Yes - I just posted a complaint for AYC Move as well - it was a nightmare.
Happy to speak to your lawyer if he's building a case against them.
Oh I see. Will let you know for sure. :)
I am also happy to speak with anyones lawyer as well! Our move was May 13...they arrived at 0700 which was great but then after they loaded the truck forced me to sign a blank contract and had me put in 15000lbs on the sheet even tho my estimate was for 5000lbs ...after being extorted money they finally showed up around 930 pm and some of my stuff was damaged and they had to first unload someone elses move onto my driveway before taking my stuff out. then after all this they just put most of the stuff in the garage piled from ceiling to floor lol we paid $6267 after an iniitial quote of $1210!
Hi Jennifer,
Mine was exactly same as yours. After they picked up all my items, they made me sign the false statement giving 2 mins time to read whole bunch of contract rules and moving person was rushing that he had to go for another move. They did not have patience to let me call the sales people I had already spoken with.
Any update regarding your belongings? I received a call from a Warehouse Manager, he helped negotiating my invoice (but still added many unknown extra charges than what was originally spoken to me, deposit paid by me has been added under discounts) which is still 3X of my quote and they provided time to make the full payment until day after tomorrow i.e., 15th June 12PM. Otherwise they will go for the legal actions to get money from me. I am an international student here keeping all my belongings in their hands. I am not so sure to receive all my items safe. I am still ready to make the payment once the items are in front of me. Because refund policy is 60cents/pound and first 500$ of refund will go for them. So if my laptop is missing which weighs 8lbs technically I should receive 4.2$ which makes no sense.
I am also required to sign another contract of not posting a bad comment or reviews before even they deliver my items. I have been hearing not to trust them again. I am confused if I have to go for the payment or not.
Good news about these scammers: https://www.blogto.com/city/2022/06/toronto-police-bust-wild-moving-scam-ransom/
I think there is a class action going forward, potentially. :)
I think there is a class action going forward Trisha. My lawyer friend himself wasn’t that helpful….but still. Something could come of the class action.
SCAM ALERT! I really wish I saw this page before booking with AYC Movers - a completely frustrating experience in already a stressful time! I contact them for a move from Ottawa to Welland for April 2022.
I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and disregard to communication I have experienced with AYC Move. Below, I've outlined the communication we've received - lacking transparency, consistency and accountability.
[March 7/8]
- Trisha starts search for movers and receives an email from Gabriella - reservations agent - with a moving proposal.
- Proposal does not include 'Warehouse Handling' fee
- Proposal strikes out $40 'Standard Scale Fee'
[March 10]
- Trisha sends follow up email with attempt to connect via phone call to discuss further and a further emails made that day to connect
- Call between Trisha and Gabriella takes place: Trisha asks for clarity around fees; wants clarity for anything over 1000lbs that was listed in the original quote
- Gabriella confirms that the first 500lbs is charged at $350 - anything over 1000lbs is charged at $0.26 per pound
- We went through the breakdown of the quote, Gabriella confirmed that are no other charges outside of the quote
- Reconfirmed that any overage on the quote is based on $0.26 per pound
- Trisha let's Gabriella know that she's considering a few other quotes, as well as waiting for house closing date, and will follow up the following week
- Gabriella sends over 'Booking Details' in the event a booking is requested
[March 15]
- Gabriella follows up via email to see if further booking is needed
- Trisha follows up and confirms that house offer is firm and will complete forms to move forward with moving
- Trisha sends over booking details and deposit via etransfer
- Gabriella confirms she has received the email and will follow up the next day
- Gabriella requests that the deposit be resent due to error retrieving it on AYC Move end, Trisha missed email
[March 16]
- Gabriella confirms receipt of deposit, and lets Trisha know a confirmation email will be sent shortly - she is taking a personal day
[March 22]
- Trisha received 'Confirmation Email'
- Confirmation of $200 deposit received on March 15
- Attached inventory spreadsheet to complete"At this time, I have allocated 1000lb to be available on your moving truck - if you require additional space (noted after you complete your inventory spreadsheet shared then we will allocate space/invoice accordingly" with schedule of additional "Over inventory fee for local moves + fee amount
- Trisha responded the same day asking clarifying questions
1. As per our call, you indicated the only additional charge is the per pound rate at 0.26/pound. We know we will definitely be over 1000lbs - what is the additional over inventory fee? We did not agree to this.
2. Do you accept credit card payments on the day of the move?
3. What are the times the movers will arrive?
[March 26]
- Trisha followed up requesting answers to questions asked in previous emailAlso attached a photo of the storage locker with items and shared context of size (10x30 locker)
- Gabriella responded the same day requesting inventory list, and said she would provide an updated estimate claimed that she has allocated 1000lbs but will charge that accordingly
[March 27]
- Trisha sends over inventory list, and follows up with note that large items have already been disassembled
[April 6]
- Trisha followed up to email requesting updated quote
[April 11]
- Trisha called in attempts to follow up and left voicemail message inquiring about updates
- Called both: [protected] and [protected] numbers No call back
[April 12]
- Trisha sent follow up email asking for update
- States "I want to ensure that you are allocating the appropriate weight since we do not agree to the overage charges."
- Gabriella responds that she will provide estimate by end of day - no estimate received that day
[April 13]
- Note that this email was sent less than 24-hours before the move date/time
- Gabriella sent 'Updated Confirmation Email' Confirmation of $200 deposit received on March 15
- Moving proposal noted: "At this time, I have allocated 4000lb to be available on your moving truck - if you require additional space (noted after you complete your inventory spreadsheet shared then we will allocate space/invoice accordingly" with schedule of additional "Over inventory fee for local moves + fee amount
- Also noted "this email offer is non binding until a more formal and definitive written contract between the parties is signed"
- Trisha did not confirm receipt of email or signed any contract, as she didn't notice it until the next day
- Trisha received a call from "Supervisor" (phone number: [protected]) to confirm time movers will arrive
- Supervisor confirmed that movers will arrive at 6am the next day
- During the call, Trisha again asked for clarification on additional chargesTrisha noted that she did not hear from Gabriella yet
- Supervisor confirmed that anything in addition will only be charged at the $0.26/lb rate Supervisor also said that we'll communicate directly with the movers the next day to sort out to overage weight at $0.26/lb
[April 14]

[April 15]
- Trisha settled full amount in order to receive belongings
- No follow-up from AYC ever received
DO NOT BOOK AYC MOVERS
AYC does not accept major credit card as payment as they know damn well Visa or MC would sue this shAt out of them!
AYC's latest move is asking my nephew to sign an NDA so he can't write any negative reviews AND still pay more than what he was originally quoted to deliver his belongings. They are blaming a subcontractor they "had no idea had such a bad reputation". It is all LIES. They have been taken to court and lost. The two owners (human POS) Cemal Ozturk and Dogan Celik drive around in their luxury cars purchased with money earned by bilking innocent people out of their hard earned money. Any contract signed once your belongings are on the truck is under duress, voiding the contract. Report them to the BBB and Ministry of govt and consumer services.
This is a SCAM and I am a VICTIM.
Right Track Movers in association with AYC movers. Though I received many calls from Right Track Movers for long, I made my decision on 28th May 2022 to take the advantage of this moving facility. And Jessie, the sales agent confirmed the slot of 2nd or 6th among which I selected 2nd June( I wasn’t told about 0.05 additional charges during first 5 and last 5 days of the month) I had really hard time since I got a slot to pick up my belongings on 2nd of June and I had to vacate my apartment before 31st May 2022.
I had to pack and shift everything to a temporary apartment where my friends were living. I was busy with that and packing very important items out of everything I had. I received a confirmation email which says 100s of notes which I couldn’t even go through and asking for inventory list. Jessie already spoken to me that inventory list is not so important, it’s for your reference like what are the items you will be receiving on delivery (frankly speaking I didn’t understand most of their language in the inventory list to fill in, especially in my busy schedule.
Jessie (Right on Track movers) on call quoted 600$ with 45$ discount. I received a mail for the same. So I cancelled going in a car with my friends and agreed to this offer.
2nd June(yesterday) as scheduled, 3 guys called with no caller ID, came to pick up my belongings and forced me to sign for 925$. I told I was told a different price. He answered “you will only pay what you have spoken to, but it’s my responsibility to get your signature for this, you can speak to them later, they will waive off”. This company was different AYC movers(I got this company name only when i was signing) after they picked all My luggages which was already packed.
I immediately called Jessie to clarify, she gave me one contact of Lisa who is in accounting team. I spoke to her and she said I have to wait for the invoice until it’s generated.
Today (3rd June 2022) in the evening around 5 PM I received my invoice for 2495$. I immediately called Jessie. She answered your file is not under me anymore. Please contact the accounts and claims team by providing the number of Lisa. She was really rude and said my belongings were weighing 1500lbs. I was so sure it doesn’t go beyond 1000lbs. I told her the same. She didn’t repeat the weight thing, instead she said that “you have to pay the full amount of not we will not release your items”. I asked to return my items and I am ready to pay the travel costs. She asked me to pay full amount. I asked to return only my laptop and monitor box. She asked me to pay full amount to release any item. And I have to pay within tomorrow (4th June 2022)
But here people have paid full amount and still didn’t get their belongings. So I am now confused what to do.
Call the police immediately, if you have not already. They are aware of this scam. This company cannot legally hold your belongings and it is theft. If you are okay without your belongings for a while, you can get them back without having to pay these criminals more money than you originally agreed to.
I have the same issue, they have my belongings now and they don’t want to release it. Until i pay them.
I’m scared to pay them and find nothing at the end.
Did you receive your belongings?
