The Babylon company, operating out of Israel is a total scam. (I wish I had known this previously - as it is all over the internet). Although I was initially very pleased with their products, and purchased several lifetime licenses allowing me to use various dictionaries, the "lifetime" licenses are only honoured for about 6 months. Then they try to constantly get you to upgrade (pay) to use their newest version. They don't honour the licenses that they have sold you. Instead you will spend hours and hours re-downloading and trying to get their software to work again. As described elsewhere, it is also like "herpes for your operating system" as it incidiously tries to take over all of your defaults and become your search engine.
This company is purely about maximizing their profits - and their products don't work (beyond an initial period). They are a total scam and should be shut down before they rip-off any more consumers.

A translation program that promises a lot but delivers meaningless and grotesque, though very funny (if you buy it for laughs!) texts. Babylon takes your money before they send you the software over the Internet and never refund your purchase even if you complain. They will respond via e-mail nicely explaining why they don't refund!

I purchased a Babylon license for Mac and it never ran; they said they had a new version and I asked for a trial, they said they did not have a trial but if I was not pleased I could get a full refund; well, I am not pleased and I have not received the refund; they decided to make fun of me and tell me how stupid I am by sending an electronic invoice. They do not honor their word.

I was about to purchase the software and thought I might check on the internet for pro's and con's...glad I did! I just hope it is the same software 'babylon for Mac' which supposedly translates various versions of Arabic...last thing I want is to constantly be pestered to upgrade my software or buy a new version. They should provide upgrades for free as you bought the software! And unless they totally revamp the platform, updates should be included!

I purchased a copy last year and it does a terrible job of translating many languages. When I use their document translation feature, then back translate segments using their own software on my tool bar, the copy is completely wrong! Their customer support chat is not ever available when I need it (and I work until the early morning hours EST in the US) and it is a pain to go through the hoops of contacting them via email. I shouldn't have to keep looking up order numbers and license numbers. They should have a record of that. Sorry I once again paid for useless software!

I bought Babylon 10 with a strict condition that I would received full refund if the software was not useful for me. 24 hours after purchasing the product, I requested the refund, it has been almost one month now, I sent several emails, including to the lady who sold me the software, asking for the refund and received no helpful reply at all from no one in the company. That is so sad, they don't believe in keeping their customers happy and having further business in the future, their vision seems to go as far as getting your money there and then. They also have cancelled the licence of the software I paid for and now I have no money and no software.

I agree with you. I am responding to this since it is the newest complaint. I had my share of problems and they are not concerned at all with them and treat you with disrespect when you complain about a refund. The product is usable for a short time and Does Not give you what is stated in their advertisement. It is a fraud and should be removed. There should be a way to make people more aware of bad products like this before they are purchased.

I bought the software in 2010, even it didn't work well I used it in conjunction with my dictionary . In fact they have very poor and few words...
I'd like to use it even so but doesn't work on all windows OS, so I ask them to give me a piece of advice: the answer was... we have another version, so they compulsory like me to by an year version even I bought it for all my life.
Please, somebody to give me a piece of advice...maybe they have an authority over them to address to...

Thanks and God bless you!
