Hello my name is Ebony Ellis, my 4 year old daughter Ryan Madison attends the Morris Blvd boys and girls club Located in Jersey City for summer camp. The start of this summer program has been really rough, unorganized and a little short from a disaster. On 6/29/2022 my daughter was placed on the wrong bus and got off the bus without my authorization and knowledge. No one notified me of her being put on another bus I waited at the drop off/pick up location where I picked the location. Luckily a family member notified me of my daughter being on the wrong bus. I reached out to the center and the response was oh we thought she was ok to leave with her cousin that rides a separate which is a different drop off location. I informed the staff to you please call me if anything is to evee change or happen with my child. 7/11/2022 this location hosted a skate trip in which my child attended. The shoes she had on didn’t require her to have socks on but socks were packed for the trip. However, my child wasn’t allowed to skate at this field trip. Because the facility fan out of socks and my four year old child was missing a sock meaning she had to standby watching other children enjoy activities. Again no one from the program notified me of this incident. Yet I was approached at pick up about how my daughter wasn’t listening to staff and crying. I couldn’t understand why until my family member that’s attending the camp as well informed at me that my 4 year old wasn’t giving the chance to skate. After speaking with my daughter she said that was the reason she cried and one of the staff grabbed her by her neck and led her back to the group. She also stated during that encounter she received scratches in which I took pictures of. I Than again I reached out to the camp on 7/12/2022and at this point I asked to speak to a manager and I was directed to Jordan’s ext. I explained my concerns and he instructed me he would call me back. No call back happened I than reached back out to Jordan 7/13/2022 at 2:30pm regarding this incidents stated above. Jordan was very quiet on the phone and really had not expectation other then what my daughter told me isn’t true. My daughter described the individual as a white Lady with white hair and a blue dress. She informed me with a demonstration as to what happened and this centers response was it was staff present and they said it didn’t happen. He also stated they had a incident report regarding my daughter crying and walking off. It’s at this point Inconsiderate and troubling that these are the responses I’m receiving. I wasn’t worthy of a call back. I feel helpless in this since! Where am I suppose to take my child for summer camp because I am extremely uncomfortable with the things taking place at this location.
