Bristol West Insurance Group review: My bank account was debited twice. 1

On 2/10/2023 I was notified my auto payment was due to be deducted from my account. Due to the large increase, I called my agent. At that time my agent called Bristol west to have the eft stopped and she was helping me figure out if monthly would be a better way to go due to having some financial hardships. Bristol still proceeded to taking my monthly amount out and the bi yearly amount. Taking a total of 2846.00 out of my account. We notified them on 2/10/23 and again 2/13/2023 yet they still debited my account. Upon calling them we were told they would refund the $2390 back to my account and would expedite it because of the circumstances. Well that did not happen and today they said they had to have a bank statement to show the monies debited. We sent the statement (had they asked earlier we would have done it then). Now we are told we will get the money back on 2/21/2023. I tried to explain that my husband is disabled and requires chemo injections every 4 weeks and the money they took was for that. They said they were sorry and would expedite the payment. THEY DID NOT. I feel this is so unethical, poor customer satisfaction, and outright fraudulent. I have never had trouble with Bristol west (EVER), but this one takes the cake. I want to be perfectly transparent now and let you know I have written a bad yelp review and will cancel my insurance. I will also make sure to let anyone and everyone know what has happened and plead they not buy insurance through your group as well.

I am an Executive Director in healthcare and do know and understand billing and refunds very well. Morally I could never stand behind poor work ethic. I appreciate the time you have taken to read my rant and do apologize for this mess upfront. I know 100% this is of no fault of your, but it is of the representative that made the error.

Taking a bi yearly amount out and a monthly amount out of the same account should have raised suspicion and should have been clarified prior to pushing the button to deduct from anyone's account.

I look forward to hearing from someone about this and hopefully getting my money returned timely.

Desired outcome: I want my money put back into my account asap. I do not feel like I should have to wait until next week.

OMG they are an awful company. I made a payment by BANK CHECK to them and they "did not receive" and ignore my many emails with a copy of the cashed endorsed check attached. I tell them, beg them, threatened better business bureau just to respond. The wont. But they want to put me in collections for money I do not owe I refuse to pay twice! I don't understand how these people are still operating a business. extremely unprofessional. What kind of company doesn't even respond to their customers when they're asking them to. Have you had any resolution to our problems with them are they still occurring. I've seen other people having the same problem with them.
