I have three Capital One accounts (credit cards). I recently paid the balance on one credit card and requested a card for my Mother, adding her as a verified additional card holder. After this request, Capital One blocked the card. When I called their customer service line1-[protected], it's obviously an off shore call center employing foreign individuals whose comprehension and knowledge of English is extremely limited. The agent requested I send them a copy of my drivers license and SS card to verify my identity. After hesitation, the agent sent me a url to send the photos. I did this THREE times, each time the agent, in broken English said he could not read the photos, which I strongly suggested I had no problem reading the same. Today, I called once again, this time bypassing the off shore agents and requested an agent in the US. The US agent told me they had no record of me sending Capital One my documents. This is OUTRIGHT FRAUDULENT and has me afraid that someone, somewhere in the world has all the data to steal my identity. The US agent requested I send him the same, which I did. I was told they would need my Mother to send them the same SS card and drivers license. ( My Mother is 76 years old and has not had a hard copy of her SS card in years.). So, my Capital One card remains BLOCKED, with a limit of $2000 remaining in limbo. I paid the balance in order to have a credit card for paying all of my utility and grocery bills. I can do neither. They also told me they COULD NOT remove my Mother from the account, which is ludicrous. I do not know where to turn and calling them has left me distraught and seeking legal action against them for requesting personal identifiable information, and denying they received such.
