Horrible
Horrible. This course was terrible. The homework was graded and feedback wasnt given for weeks on end. At one point I didnt get graded homework until a year later, a year. They drag their feet, they say one thing of guaranteed job and dont come through. Then fight you to get your money back. I started on Feb 2022, still fighting to get my money back. The level of unprofessionalism is absurd here. The lack of contact and candor is frustrating to say the least. There is no internship they sell you on things they dont come through on.
I attended the Careerist online boot camp for 8 weeks this has been a horrible experience
I attended the Careerist online boot camp for 8 weeks this has been a horrible experience. I have not received feedback from this company regarding starting the internship. They gave me a zoom link and promised someone would come on and talk to me all lies...I waited on zoom they were a NO-SHOW. I have a monthly debt to pay for this class and NO RESULTS. I must proceed with litigation if I can't get this resolved. No one has directed me as to why I can't finish my course.I would like to finish my course and internship, but it hasn't yet happened.
Terrible experience hearing from one of the employees
Terrible experience hearing from one of the employees. A guy named ***. He said in an email "...As of today I'm closing your file and wishing you all the best, hoping you find whatever it is you're looking for." How rude is that? I was seriously interested in taking their training and let them know I was in a doctor's *** which is why I missed their multiple calls by sending them an email too, but to respond to me with something like that is not cool and right. I also think that judging from the other reviews of Careerist being a scam and having red flags that people should just stay away from them.
This place is an actual scam!
This place is an actual scam! please do your research on reddit and on *** before joining.I had joined with so much hope but really its 2/10 students who actually end up getting a job from this. There are far better programs out there, don't waste your money. It's just ruthless for them to provide such false hope and leave you in the dark. Many of the comments that provide a good rating or have good things said about the program are all fake. I had actually contacted a few graduates from Careerist and all of them said that it was such a waste of money. Please be careful and think hard before throwing your money away.
I enrolled in the Sales Engineering Program for $3,200 in January 2023
I enrolled in the Sales Engineering Program for $3,200 in January 2023. The positives- the teachers are seasoned Sales Engineers and the other students are very nice. The cons- you will not have enough technical skills to get hired as an SE after their program. It is more like an intro course, but they dont tell you that. They act like you will bw able to get an SE job write away when you have your first appintment to pay for the course. They ask you to lie on your resume. My Careerist group had 70 people and not one of us have gotten an SE job in 4 months. And only 1 of us got a job and their job is in Tech sales not SE. The price is not worth it. They sell you a dream but you will NOT be able to get an SE job simply by taking the Careerist bootcamp even if you have a college degree. The program was not worth the price. Wish I could get my money back.
I've just graduated from the Manual QA course
I've just graduated from the Manual QA course. The course is structured and a lot of additional topics are covered that I like a lot. All teachers are great and knowledgeable. The internship is very helpful to get real experience and all instructions were given. With appropriate time and effort easy to do. What caught my eye was the course program that included Internal Internship, External Internship, and the very important part one-to-one mentorship until the goal (my new job) is reached. I'm on the way to change my life and I'm confident that I'll get my job soon. One more thing I like a lot is the weekly Graduates' meeting with success stories. I watch them in recording and participate online whenever I have time to stay motivated and ask questions. I would definitely recommend the Careerist QA Manual course to anyone who wants to start from scratch in a new career.
I signed up for a webinar and sat through the whole thing
I signed up for a webinar and sat through the whole thing. It was as bad as being in *** and going to a TIMESHARE Pitch, Literally BOTS in chat giving thumbs up. I did confront with factual research and they tried to discredit my info. It is a PONZI SCAM at Best. I feel bad for anybody who falls for it. I asked legitimate questions about certifications and the level they train you for and was answered with "you never need that on the job" and "you only need to know enough about that to get through the interview" so pretty much they are willing to teach you the minimum amount of info so you can trick an employer into hiring you. They then proceeded to say a list of companies their graduates are hired to by reading a list in their screen, I know for fact those companies want IT BA or experience equivalent. They tried saying all Manual QA titles pay the same not true. They are SALES not tech people on Webinar, DO NOT FALL FOR IT. there are programs 1/2 the price through your local University that will get you entry level placements...NO ONE is going to hire you to start your career with just this course.

I signed up for a webinar and sat through the whole thing. It is just a collection of RED FLAGS. They keep their average graduate salary so high by telling you NOT to accept any jobs below $70,000 even though they only promise you the training that values you at $30,000. They have called repeatedly (three times before and once after the webinar) and I told them to remove me from their list because I don't think their service is worth $12,000. They then proceeded to send me email after email inviting me to new events so it is littered across my calendar. I replied to several emails telling them to remove me. I marked them as spam. I blocked them. Does not matter because they have an endless supply of email addresses they contact you through. If your intention is to fill your inbox and calendar with obnoxious reminders that you could pay your life savings to be ripped off, this is the *** for you!
Deciding to bet myself and sign up for Careerist Sales Engineering program proved to be a great move for me to break into the tech industry
Deciding to bet myself and sign up for Careerist Sales Engineering program proved to be a great move for me to break into the tech industry. From day one I was super focused and completely locked in with the goal of getting the absolute most out the program as possible. Instructors were engaging, supportive and patient with students and it even became commonplace for them to stay one, two hours over normal class hours just to take questions so that we all could have a better understanding of the more complex technical subject matters. Easily one of the my favorite learning experiences and I owe it all to the incredible instructors and career mentors Careerist has in place. During the course they place you with one of two career mentors, the first of which is there to assist you in creating a professionally constructed resume and also help you with building your online business presence on Linkedin. After successfully completing the course you are placed with a different career mentor who is there to assist with any job search tips, tricks, etc as you are now actively applying and interviewing for tech sales roles. Just another way Careerist is there even after completing the course you're still feeling fully supported. I landed my first tech sales role in two months after my graduation date and I truly owe a lot of it to Careerist for making a long time passion of mine a reality.
Where do I begin?
Where do I begin? Careerist is overhyped. One instructor resigned and started his own thing to help people break into tech. There are so many issues that they need to fix. People aren't recommending them to others anymore. I don't know if they'll give everyone a refund, but it would be appreciated. There are much better tech bootcamps out there. Many people feel like Careerist is dumping all of this information on students without following up to see if anyone is lost. There wasn't enough focus on demos and mock interviews. People are applying to hundreds of tech jobs, and less than 1% of them are getting hired. Careerist doesn't provide information on the success rates of their students who received job offers. They allow anyone who has the money to sign up, but that's a problem because it doesn't feel special. Hundreds of people pay thousands of dollars every six weeks to get in, just to feel like their voices aren't heard. People have complained about instructors and mentors. They need to hire better-qualified mentors. They need to hire more instructors. They need to incorporate homework assignments and quizzes. They need to create learning materials to go with the lessons. I know Careerist has a money-back guarantee if you still haven't received a job 1 year after completing the bootcamp, but many people still don't feel well-prepared once it's over. All they tell us to do is apply for no less than 90+ jobs per week. That's unrealistic. I have applied for over 100 jobs in one month, and I haven't been contacted for an interview yet. Some people paid as much as $4,200 just to not be satisfied with the way Careerist has been handling things. Careerist students have been warning others on here and social media not to waste their time and money and go somewhere else instead.
I attended an 8-week automation boot camp
I attended an 8-week automation boot camp. My goodness! it was knowledge loaded. I read people complain of accent and all that. Are you kidding me, who does not have an accent? If you're born in *** you must have American accent, if born in ***, you must have *** accent. If born in Africa, you must have African accent. If born in ***, of course you'll speak with *** accent. The question is: What knowledge are you able to pass on with that accent? I don't care where these Instructors came from, they not only pass on effective and very relevant knowledge, they actually prepare you for the interview with completely informative and on-demand interview questions and acceptable answers that go with them. How do I know this? Well I'm glad you asked. After the training, I went through at least 23 interviews from various companies. I probably wouldn't have gone through so many interviews if I had taken the aforementioned interview questions seriously. But I learned valuable lessons with each interview. There was not a single question asked outside the interview review questions (***, Git, Automation, API, Manual and Behavior questions) that we were groomed with. I received 5 job offers of which I selected 2.The Instructors are super knowledgeable especially ***. The technical support personnel are admirable. I owe my success to these folks and would highly recommend this organization to anyone that is really willing to learn and acquire knowledge about Manual and Automation QA engineering. Their package of 8 weeks instruction, Interview questions grooming, QA sessions addressing any questions from students and graduates, Resume preparing, expose on LinkedIn and Mentorship can not be easily quantified with the very affordable amount they charge and easy payment method they offer. A trial will definitely convince you. These folks are good!
I paid with for $3300 almost to take the Careerist Sales Engineer program
I paid with for $3300 almost to take the Careerist Sales Engineer program. When I signed up for the course there were suppose to be to be 30 people and behold there were over 400 people in the class. This is not what I signed up for. The program was very much misrepresented as I didn't receive what the curriculum offered as a Sales Engineer role in the job market you need to have hands-on experience and many different certifications. All Careerist provided was lots, and lots. and lots of slides and lots of chat and talking. From day one some of us didn't get mentors and what very fragile material they had. The curriculum stated that we were going to do demonstrations (demo's) and I did my own research on Youtube to see how to do a demo and Careerist only provided me to do a 5 minutes presentation, imagine 6 weeks program for $3300 for a 5 min demo and I had to do my own research and they only drop things in the slack channel that I had already Youtube. Imagine my disappointment. The resume building was a complete disaster and the resume template which was provided cannot get anyone a job and to top it off I have to figure most of it out and came to find out in the real world this resume cannot get anyone a job as it was poorly written, with a person who should be a mentor that can not write english very well and all mentor are from different parts of the whole and do understand how American resume should look like. As for the curriculum was not written very well also. The Class decorman was horrible, 20 people asking the same questions for 4 straight weeks in a row, why became a Careerist cannot explain or give the hands-on experience to be a Sales Engineer. I did not get hands-on experience, no training and proper training, do demos, no homework, no assignments, no integrations, not a good resume, bad interview prep, most people complaining they didn't get a mentor for almost 6 weeks. Came to find out only certain people got privilege
I completed the QA bundle course. The first part was ok but the internship was the best. It gives you the feeling of a real life job! You start to realize the pros and cons of your chosen profession. During my internship I understood that the tech industry is even more exciting than I expected.
