hotel standard
We spent a disappointing 3 nights in the penta hotel in Hong Kong
At reception it looked more like a youth hostel as we were repeatedly hit by pool ques whilst waiting
On arriving in the room found that there was not any storage and the safe on the floor not very good for 2 people over 60
The standard of food was poor we ended up eating toast after trying to eat the other offerings of food
It was in the back streets of kaloon, there was transport this finished at 19:30
This hotel does not meet expectations of the 5* cruise company
unauthorized withdrawals on credit cards
Celebrety Reflection 11-22 September 2017
Booking No 3817391
25 USD has been taken/stolen from my account 2 days after ended journey without my approval and after I have closed my card from foreign withdraws.
I have tried for over a month to get it solved by customer service Nordic without redress.
From the ship someone called Marie Bautista says I have taken a hand-mirror from our cabin.
I have not seen any hand mirror in the cabin and definitely have not taken anyone with me.
This is absolutely not true!
Why would I spend so much work on making up for this relatively small amount if I were guilty of any form?
This must be some sort of revenge from our so-called "butler" which we did not quite agree with.
This is not OK.
I appeal this and demand my money back.
cabin price change suddenly while I making a booking on celebrity website
On 18th of September 2017, I was on Celebrity Cruise website and booking a cruise which is coming on 15th August 2018. I had put everything I need in the basket, which included the class of cabin I want and how many people. I had a good quote price. When I put the order through, the price changed suddenly in 1 minute from about £2000 to £2800. Which raised 40% of the original price I quoted. The worse is one of my family group already done their booking and paid the deposit. We planned this trip to go together with two family's member and now just one family can go on their own because of the high rise price. I wonder can Celebrity Cruise help us to find a solution? This may cause by Celebrity Cruise's website problem or network broken down on the day. Can some one contact me to sort this out? Please contact me.
change of islands
We are booked to leave Miami on 9/25 on the Equinox for several Islands in the Caribbean but due to Irma several of the stops have been changed. We are in our 80's and celebrating our 60 th wedding Anniv. I feel we are not getting what we paid for and should have given a chance to either change it to next year or gotten our money back. I could care less about San Juan or several of the new stops. I know you can't control the weather and have the right to change the cruise but at least we should get some money back, free $300 Beverage package or something to offset our not so great cruise. Also now there are 2 more storms lurking out there around this time. May be a rough trip. RESV # 4210299 Thank You Roger Van [censored]
kitchen, certain foods
I was on a celebrity cruise (constellation) from 8/28 to 9/7... for the most part the it was pleasant. We had a tour of the kitchen and I wish I hadnt. as we entered, the first thing we saw was some bins one of them filled with dirty water and dishes in it... that was gross... I didnt quite get the feel of a clean kitchen. As we proceeded to the baking and deserts area we came across the dishes all set up for the creme brulee, these dishes were gross, needless to say I never ate it again... dont like eating someone else's left over. they were poorly washed... I stopped drinking coffee out of a regular cup and used the disposables when one of my friends I was traveling with had a cup with lipstick on it... again, gross. even though I paid to use the spa after two visits I stopped ging because I realized it was a breeding ground for mole and mildew. the turkish bath wasnt functional and it smelled. we did let the management know... some aspects of the cruise were less than pleasant. and as far as the internet is concerned, really? 30.00 an hr... between the drinks and that it was a total rip-off.
to add to my complaint, i sent a blouse to iron and it was scorched...the smoke salmon was of inferior quality...the soups were awful...
visa service
Dear Sirs:
I was a travel agent for 20 years and have traveled to all 7 continents. have NEVER had so much trouble and expense getting a visa. The process was so confusing and difficult that I was ready to cancel the whole trip.
Finally after many calls and sleepless nights, I got it finished and sent in. Then more calls and confusion over a mistake on my driver's license that showed an apartment number.
Delighted when I received my visa in a timely manner but horrified when I received an invoice for $473.33 by email.
We are only in India for a part of 3 days. Surely there is a less expensive way to get a visa for 3 days.
And if not, I think someone should have advised us of these exorbitant fees at the beginning of the process
On my paperwork, it showed a Visa Central fee of $80.00 and a consular fee of $20.00 and a money order fee of $12.99 and we were given an option of how to have it sent back but no prices on these options. If I had seen a price of $50.00 for Fed X, I would have chosen something else. Then I am charged a fee of $40.00 for some sort of passport insurance which I wasn't aware of. I was told there is a box you have to check if you DON'T want it and I still don't see that little box on my paperwork.
I called this morning and spoke to Ali and he was able to get $102.50 refunded. I appreciate that but feel you need to make this process easier and less expensive or let people know at the beginning how much it could cost.

removal of pending charges from credit card
Hi
RE customer reference number 7627807
Name Rayleen Ransome
I went on a cruise from 10/7 To 21/7 and pending charges were debited to my credit card daily. When I left the cruise Celebrity Cruises also charged me a lump sum of $4599 in British pounds . All pending charges were not removed which has put my credit card over the limit and I am unable to use my card as a result. Furthermore I am on holiday in Italy and have had to borrow funds from a friend because of this issue
Please can the matter be reviewed urgently and the pending charges be removed from my credit card without further delay.
Your soonest reply is appreciated.
Regards

excursion in india, backwaters, cochin
So far, no reply from Celebrity on my first complaint. I repeat again : this was cruise nr19 from Singapore (Aquaclass cabin, depart 02/04/2017) to Abu Dhabi, before 5 times with Celebrity, others Seabourn, Regent, Silversea. We took on this cruise at each stop an excursion proposed by the ship. Cost of this Backwaters excursion = 199 US$ per person.
We spent too much time on the Backwaters in Cochin and only 15 minuts in total for lunch AND leisure time at a supposed interesting resort (butterfly farm, exotic garden, etc..). This is not acceptable since the others participants were never late and since Celebrity leaves the responsibility of the timing to the guide. Nobody from the Celebrity organization joined, for the first time observed with Celebrity. I complained when back on the ship but was rejected ; again, the fact that the program was realized is not a justification but a fault if not properly distributed, especially for this price FAR FROM THE INDIAN STANDARDS ...
This is why, again, I am asking for a refund : 50 % seems to be fair. Please answer this time.
Sincerely.
wedding ceremony & reception

Good Morning,
We are writing this Letter to express our disgust and very unfortunate Wedding experience on board the “Celebrity Solstice” Cruise Ship recently.
We planned our Wedding Ceremony & Reception on board your ship at Sydney Port, Australia on Saturday 25th March, 2017.
On the Saturday morning, we arrived at Sydney Port with our Celebrant & 95 guests in tow, on time, just before 10am, (as we were advised) with all of our ID Credentials, not one of our guests forgot.
When we greeted the Cruise Ship Staff and checked our baggage, straight away there was a lot of confusion as no one knew anything about a Wedding that day, the Staff at the port advised us that no one told them about a Wedding at all. After 20 minutes, a Manager at the front door to the terminal told us they can’t get in contact with the Event Co-ordinator or any other Manager as they were all in a meeting and would be another 20 minutes. Finally, around 11am they finally started to process only our Sailing Guests.
We were initially advised there would be an area or a room to get dressed into our Formal Wedding Clothes, this was not ready, so they decided to get our State Room ready which took approximately 30 minutes, so we had to wait again. During this time, most of our Non-sailing guests were still waiting on the dock to get aboard the ship.
Once in our State Room, we only needed 15 minutes as we had everything ready to go but then had to wait a further hour, they kept delaying our Ceremony as they were trying to work out where to have the Ceremony, then they set up a room and got the guests organised. Our Wedding Ceremony finally started at 12.30pm, It was supposed to start at 11.30 at the latest. Our Parents & Sailing guests finally knew where to go, what time for the Ceremony once we had called them ourselves & told them, no crew advised them.
The Photographer was very helpful and took some lovely Photos but this was also very rushed as we ran out of time. The Photographer was the only person who knew there was a wedding that day and that was all.
We didn’t arrive at the Reception until 2pm, our guests didn’t arrive until 1.30pm. Then our Wedding Reception started in the Tuscan Grill Restaurant, the Food was nice apparently as we were told but either of us had a bite of food as we were constantly interrupted by staff to talk about problem after problem that occurred. We asked staff were there nearest Bathroom was & it was all very chaotic so I ended up changing my 15month old Daughters Nappy on the floor under the table, I was very annoyed in my wedding dress & heels.
As soon as we entered a microphone was pushed into our hands to make the speeches as the staff said we were running out of time. We only made 2 quick speeches, our parents missed out.
The Table Layout of the Restaurant was totally different to what was provided to us. From the chart provided, we planned our Guests Seating Plan & organised Haigh’s Chocolate Boxes as a gift for each guest, it had the Guest’s name on it so each guest would know where he/she was to sit. We had them organised in separate bags with a table seating list for each table.
Some Chocolate Boxes were lost? The chocolates I purchased were Haigh’s, they were expensive chocolates. Some Guests did not get a thankyou Chocolate Box. Some Guests didn’t know where they were sitting as their Chocolate Box was also their seating card with their name on it was missing which caused a lot of confusion.
The Event Staff setup a Bridal Party Table that seated 12 people, we had advised in many emails previously that there was only us, no bridal party just the Bride, Groom & our Daughter as we didn’t want a big bridal table. The Bride’s Parents and Best Friend who were supposed to be near to us were on the other side of the room. They seated just the Groom’s Family with us which upset the Bride’s mother & she started crying as the Bride’s Family felt left out altogether.
After a 1 hour Reception (we paid for a 3 hour Reception), there was an announcement that the Non-sailing guests had to leave in 5 minutes as they were about to conduct a fire safety drill for the guests on the cruise. Our Main Meal had just been served to our guests, the meal was very rushed most guests did not eat any desert, they barely had time to have drinks.
We were disgusted by the way the whole day unfolded, the whole thing was very unprofessional, unorganised & it was just a miserable day, we felt very embarrassed in front of all of our friends & family on the day. A lot of our friends have told us they didn’t have time to do anything.
The Staff on the ship were being very helpful & trying to fix everything but what can you do when you have a wedding you didn’t know about with almost 100 guests. There was no flow to the Ceremony/Reception at all. We expected to turn up at the dock with our guests and for you to have everything organised. We booked & paid a lot of money and had done everything that was requested by us but you failed to fulfil you side of the deal.
As event planners, your lack of communication is disgusting and it ruined our Wedding day, we can’t redo our Wedding day again, it’s a once in a lifetime event that we had saved and worked hard to have.
We had a meeting with Debra, the Event Manager on board the ship a few days after the wedding whilst at sea. Debra totally agreed on everything with us and said she emailed a report to you about our terrible experience. Debra advised she has sent you emails requesting action that needs to be taken asap. Debra said she felt very embarrassed about the whole event & that it has happened before.
It has been approximately 5 weeks since the Wedding and yet we still have not received any phone calls or emails from Celebrity with an apology or some kind of compensation. Our contact details are [protected] or [protected]@hotmail.com.
We need to be compensated. We will go to Social media, word of mouth has already started as people have asked how our day went, along with our 95 guests who witnessed and had the horrible experience themselves.
We look forward to hearing from you very soon.

celebrity solstice easter cruise departing sydney, australia 13 april 2017
Having joined the vessel in Sydney we found out that most (at least 90%) of the guests on board had been offered 2 or 3 promotional offers, e.g. gratuities included; free internet; on board credit or a premium drinks package as part of their packages.
We then discovered that Celebrity had told all the passengers staying on board when the vessel docked in Sydney to renew their drinks packages because all the drinks prices were going up for the Australian leg. And boy they weren't kidding! USD12 for a small Crown Lager, USD6 for a cup of coffee, USD6 for a small glass of iced tea (particularly galling given that the iced tea machine had been wrapped up with cling wrap and not in service), USD15 for an average Martini and USD40 to USD60 for an average bottle of wine!
Given that the Australian and Asian markets are the fastest growing cruise markets in the world I'd like to know why Celebrity is price gouging Australian consumers?
During the cruise it also became apparent that Celebrity's relentless sales pitch coupled with the exorbitant non and alcoholic beverage pricing was designed to force guests to buy a range of beverage packages, even for non-alcoholic beverages such as water and coffee.
We found that we were severely disadvantaged compared to other passengers as we'd only been offered a choice of 1 out of 3 options when we booked through out agent Cruise About, and not the same 2 or 3 options as everyone else had been offered even though we'd all booked around the same times.
When I complained to the Customer Service Team on board I was told that "had I seen them on the day we departed they might have been able to change our package" - something which I find incredible. Our agent, Cruise About says that even though we placed a deposit for our cruise in October 2016 Celebrity still should have been offered the increased package options as they were released but that Celebrity never passed them on or made or agent aware of them.
We certainly weren't able to enjoy ourselves as much as we normally would due to the exorbitant beverage prices on board and I'd like to know what Celebrity is going to do to compensate us for the severe disadvantage we suffered while on their cruise - as currently we wouldn't be considering booking another cruise with Celebrity given the poor package we are likely to be offered compared to other passengers.
reservations
Beware the "bait and switch" tactic.
February 3, 2016 we had an extensive conversation with Jason, a Celebrity certified travel planner. He offered us a package on a 14-day Southern Caribbean cruise leaving Miami April 3, 2016. The terms of that offer were a mid-ship veranda stateroom on deck 8, drink package and free gratuities for $4243. We paid in full by credit card while still on the phone. We immediately made flight and hotel arrangements to get to Miami from San Francisco for the cruise.
February 5, 2016 we were informed that we did not have a mid-ship cabin, but a lower cabin (aft on same deck). We called Celebrity reservations. To make a very long series of conversations short, we were ultimately told by "resolution agent" Julie that there was little Celebrity would do about this. We were offered our choice of cancelling our reservation, moving to a different room in the same category (not mid-ship) or paying extra to get a better cabin. We were essentially told that we were confused and they were actually doing us a special favor refunding 100% of our money. Cancelling is not really an option since flight reservations have been made and large change fees apply. Besides that, we really wanted to go on the cruise.
To clear up the "confusion" we requested that Celebrity listen to the phone call (which they should have recorded) from February 3 and please send us a transcript of same. We were denied.
We realize sometimes things happen and/or mistakes are made. That is not a big deal. It happens all the time. We were willing to work something out with Celebrity. It would not have taken much. But, Celebrity was intransigent.
The finally result is repugnant. Celebrity has all the money we mutually agreed to, but is giving us a lesser product/service than we agreed to. Their attitude is shocking to us. No attempt was made to make it right.
So, beware in your dealings with Celebrity (and, presumably, its parent Royal Caribbean).
aqua class cabins under gym
First I want to say that this trip on Celebrity Solstice was one of the worst cruises out of 140 that I have taken. Celebrity cruise lines has treated me unfairly by selling me a trip advertised as spa at sea on AQ Aqua class. I did not sleep for the 7 nights that I was on the ship. Still suffering several weeks later from sleep deprivation im going to give a shorter review because I'm just tired and over it now.
I'm in my 40's married, take care of my elderly father full time who is very ill, (my husband stayed home to care for him..) Traveled with my 23 year old daughter who lives overseas now .
Booked Aqua class cabin 1507 at an online travel site a month in advance. The cabin was sold to me as being in the bow of the ship near to the spa and relaxation areas. Included added amenities such as a robe & slippers, fruit, flowers, unlimited access to the persian gardens and dinner at Blu. When booking the cabin i checked what was above me on celebritys webite and the space was "Blank" figured it was office space or something. This was an AQ veranda cabin. Also limit of two passengers per cabin in this area. Peace..quiet..zen? Keep reading.
We get on the ship and its very nice, beautiful cabin, bathroom was ingenious for a ship. Nice, though not great public areas left something to be desired for me but all I had planned for the week was rest, reading, eating and napping..maybe a show or two, and the spa of course. Living in NYC its easy to get overwhelmed by people all over the place and crowds everywhere as well as burn out. So rest was high on my list. Wasn't even going to get off in ports.
First night was great, we went to dinner in Blu and walked around, used the spa facility which by the way I rate a 5 out of a 1-10 rating due to the fact that all it was were 8 heated tile beds and a shower, a steam room and sauna. Not much else. I'm going to compare this to princess cruises because its similar except for the fact that princess is much much much better in general.
Here is where the problems start. Went to bed around 2 am, was watching a movie on the nice 32" TV in the room . Figured I would sleep till 10. Would of been nice since I don't get much sleep at home. So im out like a light and the beds are very cozy, and all of a sudden there is this banging from overhead. Sounding like someone was throwing weights on the floor above. Figured it would stop. Then music blasting ..figured it would stop. Put the pillow over my head and ear plugs in, hoping that there would be no ship emergency with ear plugs. But then the whole cabin was shaking. So...i put on the robe and walked to the pursers desk asking them what the heck was going on here. They said they would find out and sure enough they called later to say it was coming from the gym and the music would stop. Which it did. However, at 7 am they were doing aerobics directly above my cabin, with weights..everyday this went on. All cabins full ship at 100% that week. By day 4 I could not take it anymore and really just wanted to leave but couldn't. Went back down to complain for the 5th time and got assistant hotel Christian. He investigated it and yes after coming down and hearing it for himself..knew there was a problem. More like a flaw in the design of the ship id say. Nothing anyone could do, my week ruined basically. No napping or sleeping past 7 any day.
That being said the rest of the cruise consisted of walking around like a zombie and sleeping in the cellar masters wine bar since no one was in there most of the time.
The shows were not very interesting . The cirque one was the better of them and the comedian was spot on funny but the rest were just blah. The theatre group was worked to death by celebrity in every show. Costumes and props not up to par with any cruise line but maybe Costa. But hey I didn't come here for the show. I came here to relax at the spa and rest remember?
Getting back to Aqua Class. If you book it you will be wasting your money, pure and simple not worth the money. Aqua class to me was more like steerage class after the way I was treated by this staff.
What did Celebrity offer me for the banging all week? 100$. Yep. For that I will say you will lose all future business of myself and my family and friends. ..and we do take a lot of cruises. Also the cabin walls themselves are like paper. Someone farts in the next room and you can hear it. But the slamming of the drawers and flushing of toilets you hear all the time. Not nice if you did want to rest forget it here.
Well that's all I have to say, take it or leave it my impression of celebrity is that its boring, very old crowds (which I don't mind because they are quiet..) everything closes at 9 30, bars are empty most times, staff tired and over worked.
I've got several posts up on you tube if your interested my user there is campo84748 there and you can hear for yourself the noise in the cabin and you decide if you want to risk this type of noise in your one week of supposed peace also if i can i will post it here under member videos, look for it under scampy1 .
I've been on RCCL, NCL, Princess, Costa, Carnival, Windjammer, and others. No matter what ive always found ways to have the fun even though everything might not be great all the time. But when I tell you that the audacity and rudeness of this cruise line was something that none of the other cruise lines (well maybe carnival..) had.
I wont be coming back and all who are reading this, do yourself a big favor and book princess. Its the same price and far superior in every way, shape and form.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am not responding to this complaint but cannot find anyway of making my own so will do so here. We went on the Celebrity Solstice June 16 to 23rd 2017 and I would never travel on a Celebrity Cruise ship again. Starting with the hotel I paid $300 for the night before the cruise and when I checked in discovered there were no bellman. I had to wrangle my luggage to my room and was then informed I had to have in back in the lobby by 8:15 AM for transfer to the ship. Basically I paid $300.00 for a room I could have had at a Motel Six for a third the price and I had to do all the work. Not a way to start a cruise. The cabin on the ship we had was supposed to be a pretty good class but certainly was nothing like the other ships I have been on. The night stands were so small you could hardly put anything on them. The room was not at all what we expected. The best thing of the entire cruise was our stateroom attendant Parag who was excellent. The food was not bad but twice my wife had to send back a dish. Salmon was dry and veal loin on another night was tough. Again not what we have come to expect from a cruise ship. One night when we were passing through a very scenic area I asked for a table close to the windows and was told none were available, however moments after sitting down I saw at least 2 tables that were empty. Have no idea why we denied those tables but I didn't want to make a scene. There were other numerous things but I don't want to go into anymore. I will never travel Celebrity again and will advise friends not to.
I and my girlfriend took a cruise on the Celebrity Solstice on 7-11-10 to 7-18-10.We paid extra for the Aqua class to be able to receive upgraded meals in their specialty restaurant.I have an allergy to nuts and need extreme medical attention if ingested with them. The meals on the ship had an average of near %50 nuts in their entrees which limited my selection. On top of that they included nuts in their receipes in many situations with out listing them.Per example, waiter mentioned to me that the Pesta sauce was made with tree nuts, As a result was forced to eat my meals in the main dining room and relegated to eating only certain types of food. I complained to customer relations and was told that I should of made the cruise line aware of my problem prior to boarding. The waiters on bored tried their best but didn't exactly have a command of the English language. I would never go on another Celebrity Cruise in my life and felt their response to be totally lacking compassion and the customer services agent to be very condescending in her response to my concerns.
My family was sold a water beverage package, for the 3 of us, it was $570 for 12 days/nights. They represented that there were NO drinks on board, that every one would have to be purchased individually if I did not buy their beverage package. After 2 hours, I saw that there were unlimited water, soda, juice, tea and coffee for free on deck 14 on the Solstice, and the employees had misrepresented the true facts to me in an attempt to induce me to purchase the package. I went to consumer help desk within hours, they refused to cancel my beverage package. Next day, I filed a written complaint with the manager of the "beverage" department, he said I could only cancel the package if I did so the first day. I told him I tried, and he said he would get back to me. I have never been treated so lousy in my life, and have been getting temporary credits on my AmEx credit card for 6 months now, on and off, with 6 letters to AmEx, 5 to Celebrity, and now am sending letters to Class Action attorneys and Attorney Generals...
I love the Aqua Spa class and yes, my first trip on the Solstice I was under the gym too, but really...as a "real" sailor, a little vibration and noise did not bother me. I liked being near the spa and thought it was better to have a small steam room and tile beds, I would have hated a large room of that!
Food and service in Blu were better than any Ritz I've stayed in and I liked the premium beverage package since I did not have to worry about paying for the second glass of wine with dinner or my martinis at the ice bar.
I liked the people and am going on the new Reflection in Jan 2013 with friends and bringing our 8 yr olds- loved the kids options!
Hi, I've sailed on Celebrity before (Soltice) Aqua Class in thew Caribbean. And we've booked again. The first experience was 'generally' excellent with some experiences leaving a sour taste. The shore excursions were expensive, and frankly - one could do better to do some research and organise their own tour / excursion for the same price and possibly learn more in the process. The Qqua Spa was possibly one of the least value for money activities on board ship. They lost my card (i.e. my room card!). On to the good things. Our room - (1583) was great. Blu Restaurant was excellent, as was Murano. Restaurant personnel were fantastic. Alan - the fitness guru on board was brilliant. Very informative. Customer service elsewhere (excursions) was just 'OK'. Customer service at their office in the US (i.e. dealing with e-mail enquiries) is APPALLING! Slow to respond - i.e .5 days! And I'm not even sure that their comprehension skills are what they should be. They've failed to answer my questions on more than 2 occasions. Unacceptable from what is apparently a high quality, service driven organisation. I'm trying to arrange a number of events for my partners 40th birthday and they just don't get it. Even my travel agent is frustrated!
That said - I'm still going back - it's just harder work doing some on-board planning than it ever should be. If someone from Celebrity reads this - take some time to review your customer service training.
Cheers!

*here is a copy of the letter I mailed and email them! Let me tell you the reply was not good! This is not all of it but what I could put on here.
• I was sunburn pretty bad, stopped in the store on the ship to find no aloe or other relief items. The medical facility was closed as it does not have the most convenient hours. So, I had my husband go to guest services, he was told they do not have anything for sunburn. The next morning first thing I went to guest services myself and the gentlemen give me a bottle of aloe with the celebrity logo right on it. Funny how just a few hours earlier no one could help us, but now magically they have aloe to offer.
• on our last sea day we wanted some entertainment so we went to the marti bar for trivia, the girl hosting was “katie”. We were one of the first to enter and select a seat. After the time arrival and serval other arrived to place; she (Katie) started handing out the paper and pencils. After she passed us the first time and went around the room and came back to the front put the paper and pencils down and grabbed the mic. I said “we did not get a sheet of paper or pencil”. Her comment was “I intentionally ignored you” and she then handed my child the paper and pencil.
• on several trips to the island café the drink machines were empty or just simply closed, the coffee was cold at least 3 of the times we went to enjoy a cup.
• at our first night in the dining room our dinner took over an hour to reach our table with the couple next to us commenting us on how long it took.
• the island café was extremely limited in the food offerings and several stations closed or extremely long line.
• the steward (Room attendant) seem to never be around (I think I saw him 3 times during my 5 days) and the shower mat was never exchanged or pick up for the bathroom floor for the extent of our 5 day cruise.
• the walls in our cabin were dirty and dented as well as the ceiling
• lastly this ship did not seem to have a very friendly outgoing crew.
no customer service!
* here is a copy of my letter too them. ~ let me tell you my response again offered no customer service ~ as they said to me and I quote "the ship states the service was up to par"! As I have some reason to just make up my poor experience! Not so much my time is more valuable and I have better things to do than make crap up!

To whom it may concern:
After much deep thought and consideration I feel you should hear about my celebrity cruise vacation. Where do I start? Let’s start with the knowledge I booked with celebrity cruise line based on a good friend’s recommendation. I was informed if I enjoyed my other cruises, namely carnival, as much as I had expressed; then I needed to travel with what they believed to be the “cream of the crop”. Well, I did not get that impression, service or respect from your cruise line at all.
I would like to take you through my vacation. April 2, boarding day, I arrived at the port with my family in tow and extremely excited! All was well until I hit the check in desk where I was told that I could not board because I did not bring my “marriage license” this was a total surprise to me as I thoroughly read through the pamphlet mailed to me by celebrity and I have called on several occasions to make sure I had all my documentation in order. All I was told that all I needed was a valid driver license and my birth certification (I had my drivers license, birth cert, my social security card, birth certs for my 2 children – enough matching information to connect my names). I will also add that I checked with home land security and was provided information stating my documents would be sufficient for a “loop” cruise! The agent helping me said they would check with a supervisor to see what I could do.
I was instructed to head over to the passport office to see if I can obtain an emergency passport. I had to leave the port area all together after I paid for parking; to travel several blocks away to find out the office is closed on saturdays after the agent assured me the office would be open. I went back to the port and asked to speak to a supervisor, I informed her that the passport office was closed and asked the question ‘what am I to do now?” the supervisor proceeded to tell me I could go across the street to an internet café and go onto the web and use a site by the name of “intelius” at a fee of $50.00 (Which should be completely reimbursed) for a background report on myself and if the report happen to show both names matching my birth certification and my drivers license then they would see if they could get me on board. Try to understand a few things, I am running around with 2 children, my children, that now are in tears thinking their spring break will be ruined, numerous times thru security, and they will not get to go on “their” first cruise.” needless to say I once again managed to get thru “your” company hurtles we were exhausted!
Now that day 1 of my vacation was no fun at all! We missed out on my boarding photo as well – so much for photo memories! I am currently am asking myself and others is this discrimination of women? Why would I need my marriage license when I have all required documents per your pamphlet and home land security? Also, how is it that out of hundreds of passengers only I and 2 other couple had this issue? We were at the internet café and trying to get the information printed and the employee’s at the café were very informative.
I will not bore you with the long version but here is a brief summary of my celebrity cruise:
I am very thankful this was not my first cruise because if this was the example I had to go by I would never cruise again. I can not say I will be a generous as my friends with a high recommendation but sadly just the opposite. My husband and I cruise annually and I am very disappointed with this entire experience. I felt strongly enough to bring this matter to your attention and I welcome the opportunity for celebrity cruise lines to fix this for myself and my family. For your further consideration, I will not stop actively speaking of my horrid experience until it is address by celebrity. Finally, I would like to thank the celebrity and crew for a not so fun “spring break

I have always had an amazing time on Celebrity. No issues at all. Food great, cabins great, Staff lovely. They do run out of things at times and that can be annoying. I would highly Recommend Celebrity as an up market cruise. The destinations are also great. getting on and off the ship no issues, tenders all good too.
Sometimes it can be the attitudes of some passengers that are not received well by the staff.
I have always treated them with respect and a smile and tried to remember their names, they always remember mine.
The negative comments really do stand out to be few and far between . The passengers on face book for the cruises I have been on are always giving glowing reports. I think the only negatives from our last cruise were people not too happy about things running out at the bars and the entertainment of a night needed padding out a bit.
I will have a journey in this month - November 2015. I have been waiting for celebrity reply about of my stateroom upgrade. They still no reply. They undo their upgrade promise in october 2015 without any consent.
We're used to sailing with Holland America and were chartered with Celebrity for this particular cruise. It was a terrible time. Everyone that works on the ship had a holier- than- thou attitude. Ours is a very casual party cruise, and they looked down their noses at us constantly. They were cold and downright rude. One higher-up ship staff even said he couldn't wait till our cruise was over. They were harrassing people using medical marijuana, inviting Barbados police to interrogate them even though the guests were nowhere near ported in Barbados when they were smking. The rest of the week security followed them around and they ended the trip by having US customs rip their rooms apart before departure. It was just terribly uptight. Everything about Holland America line was better in my opinion down to the showers and prices of every onboard expense. The food on this line was the same every day, and very bland. After my experiences, I'll never sail Celebrity again.
I will never cruise celebrity again. We sailed on the Celebrity Summit. The stateroom was MOLDY! Carpet and chairs on cabin deck were disgusting. The bathroom was the worst, mildew spots everywhere. Short staffed in dining room which caused supper to last from 8:30 to 11 PM. Food was marginal at best. What's with rationing of food in buffet? Food is hidden behind screens which are opened at precisely Noon, or 4pm or 5 pm for supper. Only thing waiters can suggest is to get a hot dog or hamburger at the grill if you hungry during the day. I have cruised with Princess, and everyone on Celebrity should spend a day on a Princess ship to find out things should be properly done.
I whole heartedly agree. In May 2011 I sailed Celebrity Century and the first night became severely ill with vomiting & diarrhea. About an hour later I received word that my mother had had a heart attack, was in a comma, and not expected to live the night. As I was quarantined to my room, I had to keep calling guest services asking for help in getting off the ship (at the next port) which was Wednesday morning - my cell phone had no service while in my stateroom so I had to ouse the room for that charged $7.95 per minute - I called and called and called guest services for help; all they kept saying was someone will call you back - NO ONE on the ship would help me - they were all heartless. I even asked to speak with the Captain and again was told someone will call you back. This was a nightmare and I will NEVER cruise Celebrity again.
They're horrible people. If you go to the infirmary on the ship the lunatic doctor on the Eclipse will have you removed from the ship and send you to a 3rd world hospital in st kitts. Our recent Celebrity cruise was the biggest nightmare of our lives. Stay away from Celebrity. They are not good people and there are better choices
We are frequent "cruisers" as well and we were surprised at the attitude of the employees also. No music what so ever around the pool. When you ask for a drink the don't acknowledge you, just turn around and get it then hand it to you with a blank look on their face. I agree if this were my first cruise or anyone's first they would never go on another cruise again.
It took us over 2 hours to disembark. It was not a pleasant experience. My Mother is booked on the same ship in March and I have encouraged her to try to get her money back!
To all: beware of Celebrity Cruise Lines. This was not only my feelings, but the feelings of many on the ship.
won't take my money
I think RCL stock holders would be interested to know that I have been trying all day to upgrade my reservation from an inside cabin to a balcony but nobody in Celebrity's reservations department or corporate guest relations is interested in taking my money. I have never heard of this before, I thought Celebrity was in business to make money. In this economy how can they have policies that prohibit customers from spending more money with them? They keep telling me that their computer won't let them do it because the rate codes are incompatible. ? I find it hard to believe that management can't over ride the system. Damage Resulting = No damage resulted, just upset that I am stuck with a inside cabin when I could have a balcony.

bad experience
In June I booked the Celebrity Century sailing on July 8th to the Arctic Circle and North Cape. The cruise came with airfare to JFK. Due to my husband's disability, I booked an extra seat. The cost of this seat was $1, 117. Celebrity sent me the cruise documents - one for me and the other for my husband. When I questioned the travel agent regarding the...

Our cruise was in June of 04 from Anchorage, Alaska to Vancouver, British Columbia. My major complaint is that over $3000.00 worth of jewelry was stolen from my cabin. I am 99% sure this theft was commited by a member of the staff assigned to our deck. I was not aware the jewelry was missing until I got home and proceeded to unpack. I firmly believe it...
