I followed up a lead for a flight offered through Cheap flights. Payment for the booking was quite early in the normal booking process I have ever done, so I was immediately suspicious. I called the number to ask how much luggage was included. It wasn't. Seat arrangements? No map? It's done over the phone.
I hung up.

Where do I begin? I purchased flight tickets on 6/23 at 1:00pm (confirmation booking # received) and on 6/24 @ 2:15pm I received a cancellation notice. When I called to discuss why, I was told the tickets were no longer available by a gentleman named Lenny. I however did use AFFIRM to purchase my tickets which cost me $690... I was approved for much more ($1800) and have never been declined with affirm on any of my purchases... Cheap flights customer service proceeded to explain that it was my card that was declined... IMPOSSIBLE. I was then told, it was because the flight was booked and no longer available... and there were only two seats left. So which is it? Was my card declined, is the flight booked, or are there only two seats left? I then checked their website where it clearly says under their liability section: "Cheapflights.com takes all reasonable care to ensure that information on the site is up to date and accurate."
To which they are in fact not accurate because if that was the case we wouldnt be able to book a flight and then be told it was no longer available 13 hours LATER...(customer service says it also takes 4 hours for them to cancel if payment doesnt go through so why was I told 13 hours later?) It also doesnt make sense that an approved financial lender like AFFIRM would be declined... Cheap Flights raised the price to $996 and told me there was nothing they could do, despite false advertising and not taking accountability, the only offer was : "if you pay with debit or credit right now I can give it to you for 434 each ($868) and I can ask to have have you seated together... (but wait i thought there was only two seats so how are you able to make that request) Cheap flights purposely cancels flights so you wind up paying more money they have zero integrity and zero moral! I will be doing business elsewhere as cheap flights insisted i do!

A total scam company that gives fake cheap flights, charges you for them then tells you that they're only "provisional" and it was your mistake. They then try to sell you different flights much more expensively.

After booking you'll get badgered on the phone none-stop telling you you need to sort out the booking. It's disgraceful.

Currently on hold to my bank to have the charges cancelled.

Okay so I managed to get our money back. These guys are real nasty bullies - they will tell you that if you don't buy an upgrade (i.e a real flight) you'll lose all your money. This is a lie.

If you get scammed by this company ring your bank and explain about the charge. It will be in "pending" in your account as they will only charge you for an actual flight. My bank couldn't cancel a pending transaction but they did issue a notice to cheapflights to either cancel or charge the amount. If they charged it then we could claim a refund...although it takes 15 days. Also they put a block on them ever charging us again.

What these scammers want you to do is buy a flight with them in panic and through bully tactics. I think it's disgraceful that this can happen - but hopefully this may help anyone who uses them like we did

It seems that since I booked flights with cheap flight over the internet in summer 2009 I have had £10 per month taken, by Shopperdiscount.co.uk, and without my knowledge. It also appears to be a regular and similar complaint by other cheap flight customers.
I have e-mailed Shoppersdiscount demanding cancellation of my so called 'membership' and a return of my money. So far without acknowledgement.
This must be highly irregular and probably illegal.How can they do this on such a wide scale?
