I purchased a $1, 600.00 dinette set from Chromcraft Furniture. At that price, one should expect to get a quality product. The oak table and chairs arrived intact, but with defects.
The oak tabletop has a defective finish, as it is peppered with a black over-spray from the Chinese production shop. I contacted the dealer and customer service about the defect, and a replacement was subsequently shipped which had the same problem. Apparently, no one bothered and cared to contact the production facility and try to isolate and fix the core problem. The chairs even leak sawdust from tiny pores in the wood, which may indicate a wood mite problem.
It has been 8 months now, and the issues still haven't been resolved. Chromcraft's Customer Service department has made no effort to personally contact me, nor have they cared enough to follow up on the problem and complaint. Their website boast's of "..product warranty that is second to none...". But the reality is quite the opposite.
I'm apparently stuck with this crummy furniture set. Rather than Chromcraft, their name should be "Crumcraft". I would never buy another product from this company again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same problems with my dinette set. Large paint chips on chair legs, formica looks very cheap, clamp marks on the edges of table. Imperfections all over the table top. Sloppy finish work on material of chairs. I waited 5 mos. to get it. It must have come over on a slow boat from China. I really got screwed! this is my 3RD C/C set but the 1st with the new owners. They should have changed their name to ChromCrap. Stay away from CHROMCRAP!

Found this website while looking at Chromcraft product and am looking at purchasing. Now I am perplexed about what to do. Although the the table and chairs I want to get rid of are "Ethan Allen" purchased less than 6-8 years is not holding up either. Paid $4000 + for it. Maybe it is just the world of furniture today, we can not get Heirloom Quality anymore and the furniture company name means nothing. Although I have to say my old Chromcraft table I had before the Ethan Allen lasted over 20 years and members of my family are still using today. Much appreciate the post, but would like to see pictures and date this was written.
While your "old"Chromcraft table lasted over twenty years, as did mine, don't expect the quality in todays chromcraft that they had in the old.
Today it is next to junk. No way near the quality of the old days.
I purchased a dinette set from Chromcraft and finally ended negotiating a settlement on the table. You could clearly see the floor through the gap between the leaf and table. I sanded the edges to make the table/leaf 'fit' and have just ordered leaf levelers to make the table top even.
My advice - get as far away from Chromcraft as possible.
I have never been so disappointed in new furniture before. The table won't sit level on the floor. The chairs don't fit under the table correctly, the finish on the legs chips off and the leather look covering on the chairs in now peeling off.
Called the store i bought it from they said they couldn't do anything about it. Thank goodness i saved my old set (33 years old) it looks better than this new very expensive set. MY ADVICE "Don't even consider buying learn from my very expensive lesson"
