I have been using Clean Threads Inc. of Tennessee, owner Michelle Totty, for my dry cleaning pick up and delivery for over 18 months. I have always paid my bills with her and never complained about anything. My bill with her many times exceeds $600 in a month, so to say I am a good client is the understatement of the year. Around November 19, 2012 Michelle returned a pair of silver Juicy couture jeans (about $200) to my house and they were ruined. The silver metallic paint had been melted off by the ironing process. Michelle wanted to see if the manufacturer would replace them so I said that was fine. In the meantime she showed up to pick up my clothing again. I asked her not to take my turquoise, metallic, Seven for all Mankind jeans (also about $200) because I did not want those ruined, as the silver ones were before. She reassured me they would not clean them unless they could guarantee that they would not damage them. She went on to explain how long they had been in the cleaning business etc. so I reluctantly let her take those, as well. Once again, they were returned ruined. I asked her to replace or reimburse me for these, in a text message I sent her with the before and after photos of the jeans. She called me back and yelled at ME saying that she will not pay to have them replaced. I then offered to simply deduct $400 from my current bill and pay her for whatever else we currently owed and just call it even. She said absolutely not. Then she went into a tirade saying I treated my employees poorly and that I was jealous of her and my housekeeper and all kinds of things that have nothing to do with this situation. To make matters even worse, she then "held hostage" my current order with her (my comforter, a jacket, and a couple of pairs of pants) until I paid HER $391.27 of which she said I owed her for previous cleaning although the invoice had not been entered and was not sequentially due. It has just been crazy. Save yourself a lot of headache and use a different company. Michelle Totty and Clean Threads WILL NOT stand behind their services should anything go wrong with your clothing. She is currently still holding hostage. both damaged pairs of jeans and all of my current dry cleaning items.

This is such childish nonsense. Brennon and myself lived in Nashville for six years. Hardly grifters. This is simply a disgruntled person we did business with who is spreading lies and whom will soon be served with a defamation lawsuit. I have NEVER been arrested or even accused of anything in my life. Do your homework. It is so ridiculous that something that stemmed from Michelle ruining 2 pairs of pants and not replacing or making good on her mistake has turned into this cyber bullying through lies and attacks. Karma sucks and I will not stand for this so have your moment and laughs but the law will not allow someone to defame another's character in such a public forum. Everything I posted is verifiably true!

I too have been a customer for about two yrs. recently I sent in a brand new custom shirt to be laundered. It was delivered back to me with the sleeve placket ripped! It was so obvious when they packaged it but they still delivered it that way without a word.

Giving them the benefit of doubt and a chance to make it right, I left the shirt w a note and asked Clean Threads to advise. No response. I called their number several times to discuss a solution, no response. This morning the shirt. Was delivered to my door with a botched stitching job as a repair! Not acceptable!

My next step is court!

Just discovered this post recently and had to respond. I am a current user of Clean Threads and have seen several posts by the reviewer on other websites. The above reviewer continued to use her service until as recent as February 2016. When reviewer sent in 2 items in early February 2016 she called owner 2 weeks later that she sent in 3 items, claiming one had not been returned. Owner spoke to reviewer and she acknowledged she received back 2 items per her invoice, but she KNOWS that she sent in a silk blouse. How does a business produce an item that was never sent? I believe that it is very childish to handle complaints this way... these hang out here forever. The reviewer did not bother to come back and post the resolution that allowed her to continue to use the service until 2016...2 years more! Maybe before disregarding a business because of a post, please research the business yourself and maybe even any posts out there by a reviewer. The reviewer may be the problem. By not doing this you may be missing out on a terrific service!
