Coast Dental Services Unfair service and lack of communication

Trying to solve an issue regarding Invisalign treatment started at Pleasant Hill Facility in GA for my daughter in Jun22. We moved to Jax and requested a transfer, however instructions were to Be Paid for the treatment to continue. We got a bill for $2499 on Jun23. After 2 years of Monthly payments ($89) charged to my bank account, we contacted the facility (GA) and indicated we need a new treatment. I'm requesting refund of why I paid since the treatment was not completed due we moved, and the facility doesn't allow us to do a transfer to Jax. I have been trying to reach GA facility to talk to Manager without able to talk/communicate. Please need help here to solve issue. I called GA facility, FL customer relation FL facility and not yet able to solve this issue. I will really appreciate all the help for happy solution. My next step was a complaint.

Summary of events:
1-Aug2022-GA – My daughter started an Invisalign dental treatment from Coast dental at Pleasant Hill facility in GA
2-Sep2022 GA- The treatment ledger shows an approval entry from Her insurance for $2499.
3-Jan2023-Fl- Requested transfer to FL area since we moved to Jacksonville area. She was instructed by GA facility that She need to Pay the treatment to do a transfer or to continue receiving Invisalign supplies.
4- Feb2023-Fl – Billing letter was received for $2499
5-Jan2023 thru Dec2024 – My personal bank account was charged/debited in a monthly basis for $89.00 for a total $2499. Current balance is -$7.27 (Over payment)
6-Jan2025-Fl – Contacted Pleasant Hill facility for instructions. Via phone call with Coast dental Patience Care help desk in Fl, the GA office was contacted and indicated that this treatment was no longer available at GA and if want/continue She must start a new treatment in Jacksonville are facility.
7-Since Jan2025 and Mar2025 – several attempts (email and phone calls) to reach GA office for clarification/fair solution of facility does not respond. In addition, several attempts via phone call to Coast Dental Central Office (patience support) in Fl. Several Messages left no answer back.
I was informed that the case was escalated to District Manager and Central Office without been contacted back yet.
8-I request a full refund must be completed since the communication and resolution provided was not fair. Or at least since it was partial treatment received refund for the treatment portion not received.
9-Since not respond received after 7 days (12Mar2025), neither GA facility Manager neither Costa Dental District Manager I decided to submit a compliant board to help me in the process to get refunded for the services not received and since they showed not interest in bring a fair solution to the patience.

Coast Dental Services Extremely Disappointing Experience

After reading several reviews and hearing about the experiences of other customers, I must say that my visit to SmileCare Family Dentistry was extremely disappointing. From issues with billing departments to unprofessional behavior from staff members, it seems like there are significant concerns regarding the quality of service provided. Coast Dental Services Lazy office time to go home!

I had made my first appointment in February, however I got Covid, and I canceled. March 11, 8:30 wanted to get my teeth cleaned . Get there and the lady takes bite wing X-rays instead of using the newer circular X-rays which is much easier on your mouth. While doing X-rays one of the X-rays cut the roof of my mouth. Then she said I don’t know if she will have time to do your cleaning, which I thought that’s why I went on the 11th. They made another appointment March 13 at 4:00, I am new to the area and I went to wrong costal Dental, I am walking on crutches because I am having knee replacement on March 28th. Call the office I was supposed to be at, young man I I had spoke with on March 11, told me to come on, I said it’s 10 miles away. He assured me they would see me. I drove 10 miles trying my best to hurry. Also I had to take 600 mg of Clindamycin that really upset my stomach, and I start itching everywhere. Get there before 4:30 and a lady says we can’t see you, I told her what the young man said, she said he at a call center which I didn’t believe. But then she says a nurse can look at your gums and I say I just want my teeth cleaned. So I left upset, I will never go back there, when I walked in 4 lady’s were sitting together talking. But the didn’t have time for me.waiting room was empty. And I may still contact a lawyer. Unprofessional! No other Dentist had ever made me take 600 mg of an antibiotic before?

Recommendation: Don’t go there

I sick of being lied to by (United Health Care Dental Department), about returning my phone calls regarding my complaint with Coast Dental charging my Dental Benefits for $800 and never providing the crown I paid for. I have spoken with Roma, Jeremiah, John, Faye, Kat and Khate, who all promised to call me back and none of them have even called. They just lie to me to get me off the phone and do nothing! They have all assured they are working on it and will call me. They have done nothing ! See the the dispute below.

I've been lied to constantly by the Peachtree City, Georgia office staff and they will not return phone calls about a 5 week wait for a crown that hasn't even started. You can't trust what these people tell you and it's the worst experience I've ever had at a Dentist office. I'm requesting a refund !

This dispute is regarding a Porcelain dental crown that I paid for and have never received after 6 weeks of waiting.

This started when I paid to have a crown put on a tooth. I was told it would take about 2 weeks. After waiting about a month and leaving countless messages with no return calls I was finally able to contact the office and made an appointment. Then after waiting 3 hours in the dental chair the dentist tried to fit the crown and said it was too thin and would have to be remade and would take another 2 weeks. Now it has been about 6 more weeks and again after numerous calls and leaving many messages no one will even return my calls. I even went into the office and was promised someone would return my call the next day and again no one did. I finally got in touch with Tonya with inept office staff at 8:28 am on July 11, 2023, and she put me on hold forever then came back and said the crown was on hold and promised me she would call me by the end of the day and let me know something. Again as of 7/17/2023 she still hasn't called me back. Again it's been 6 weeks and they haven't even started the crown.

I've tried numerous calls and left msgs. to resolve this dispute. The last contact was at 8:28am on July 11, 2023 with Tonya with no return call. I have had enough of dealing with these people because, I've been lied to constantly by the Coast Dental Peachtree City, Georgia office staff. They will not return phone calls about a 6 week wait for a crown that hasn't even been started. Now I have been wearing a temporary one that is starting to give me discomfort and I must see a different dentist to do the crown that I've already paid Coast for and they have used another $800.00 of my Dental Benefits. You can't trust what these people tell you and it's the worst experience I've ever had at a Dentist's office and I'm not going back to deal with them further. I'm requesting a refund of the $135.00 charged to my credit card! The insurance Co., United Health Care has already paid them $800.00 of my Dental Benefits, so they need to refund that amount to them also.

Coast Dental Services Coast Dental - inaccurately code treatments to get more money

Poor patient service, incompetent billing department.

They code treatments incorrectly (to get more money), choose more expensive treatments on purpose and make you get unnecessary treatments done to get the most money from you.

I caught It that they coded and submitted my treatments incorrectly to my insurance. I took It in my own hands to get this correctly submitted to my insurance. This alone was a 3 months long process. Once my treatment was correctly coded, I was told I overpaid. My insurance sent my reimbursement to Coast Dental. Coast Dental NEVER sent me my reimbursement to this day, even though they promised they would. Been chasing them for more than 6 months , and nothing happens. I have read that this has happened to hundreds , if not thousands other patients across the country who used Coast Dental. One word: SCAMMERS!

Coast Dental Services Treatment plan

Attached are two versions of the Treatment Plan for replacement of my tooth 25 by an implant. The top is the version that was presented to me when I made the decision to proceed with the implant. The bottom is the version that was presented after the bulk of the work was completed and I was expected to pay for the final product. Begrudgingly, I did pay the new amount. The difference in the two is $1,555.22. I will pay what is fair, but not the entire difference!

The office manager and the dentist gave several explanations for the difference:

1. The time lapse between the two versions,

2. The top version includes two abutments, but no crown (this is not apparent to the untrained eye, nor to the trained eyes that reviewed the Plan when it was presented,) and

3. The discounts in the top version were eliminated from the bottom version (this was based on a change in corporate policy which was not communicated to the patient and for which no Plan revision was prepared.)

While reason 1 may be legitimate, reasons 2 and 3 were not caused by the patient and should not be borne by the patient, in this case me. The price changes between the two versions equal $229.00 (+$254 for the Custom Abutment (Service Code 06057) and -$25 for Laser Tissue Troughing (Service Code L2999).)

Please instruct the Woodstock, Georgia, office to refund $1,326.22 (the remainder of the difference) to me by the most expedient means possible.

Coast Dental Services Annual cleaning

On 8/22/2023, I went to Coast Dental Service (located at 5348 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544 Tel: [protected]) with an appointment for annual cleaning. They said the machine for cleaning is broken that day and they took my X-Ray. X-Ray and normal cleaning is covered under my Cigna Dental Plan. After the X-Ray, they are telling me that they can not perform a normal cleaning and they can only perform a deep cleaning and provided a written estimate of $2257.99 for now and 3-monthly cleaning of $658.02. Additionally, they gave me an estimate for $7984 for other services such as Caps. I requested to perform the normal cleaning for which I took appointment and covered under insurance plan. They refused saying that their license is at stake if they perform regular cleaning instead of deep cleaning. I asked them to put that in writing and they asked me to leave and threatened to escort me out of the office. I believe a serious investigation should be conducted on the practice of this office and how they are forcing patients to pay much higher by refusing basic services. Just so you know, I have been doing basic services for the last 7 years in NJ before moving here in FL.

Desired outcome: 1. An investigation into their practice of denying services with conflict of interest of making more money.2. An apology followed by an appointment to do the regular cleaning.

Coast Dental Services Not submitting any claims to insurance company

Spring Hill Office FL. I have ben going to this office sence 2022 its almost July of 2023 , four appointments later, not one bill was sent to my dental insurance company they just keep sending me a bill now past due. I have asked repetedly to send clames into insurance, they said we have tryed but it never gets there ? then they start getting rude , then they said its my insurance I need tosend it myself, ( no help at all) Last appointment was it they started yelling at me I got up and left there are over charging me dont care. I found another practice to go to, will never go back to a Coast Dental again
