After talking to the united health care's 24 hrs nurses help line at 1877-365-7949, I was told to go to urgent care. I drove to a facility nearest my home, but it was closed. So, I called back and they suggested me to go to another facility or nearest er. Finally, I drove to the said facility in a cold and rainy night.
I handed them my state photo id (dl) along with my member id number. My insurance is new and the hard card is on the mail. Therefore, they gave my id number from the member service. Sandy at the front desk refused to take it due to not a physical id card and accused me as giving them false info. So, I wanted to talk to someone or the supervisor. She said, "no one is here and my supervisor wont talk to you".
When I got attention to another front desh employee, sandy told me her supervisor fran is on the line and wanted to speak with me.
Fran was very rude and a very hard and iron headed lady told me on the ph that, they cant help me anything and there was no way for them to verify my insurance id. She also added that, the service was closed and the only one optioned I had to pay cash. I told them unfortunately I was not carrying any form of payments except they can send bills to my home address. They refused me all and told me to leave. I was very embarrassed in front of other patients in the lobby. They neglected the federal law (my rights) and it was absolutely a discrimination against me.
