I bought furniture here 15 years ago and was recommending them ever since - until now. My last purchase of $5k (for 3 pieces) was promised in 5 weeks - a very important detail in that I was moving and sold my old bedroom set on the move. The sales slip said the furniture would take up to 5 weeks. The salesperson told me I would get a call within 5 weeks to schedule delivery - he knew my situation.
I called just before the five week deadline to inquire on the progress of the order. At that time they told me it would be at least two weeks. I said fine but you told me five. The customer service rep said well there was a problem at the factory and we really didn't lie to you because at the time you ordered it said 5 weeks. He could tell I was a little disappointed so he said he would call me in a week and a half and it should most certainly be in at the time. No call.
I called 2 weeks later. Could never ever talk to anyone but voicemail when I called - they obviously screen every call. I asked for a call back. The guy I was dealing with wouldn't even talk to me anymore - he had one of his employees deal with me - "what a coincidence your furniture just came in! » Anyway I was only without furniture 2 weeks because I kept following up. Not hair pulling but a somewhat substantial inconvenience considering the move.
On delivery - the delivery guys dragged the furniture all over the carpet which stained it nicely - thanks a lot PM Bedroom Gallery. When my wife complained about it - they laughed at her - told her it happens and said it should come out easily - it didn't. Loyal customer for 15 years gets. I will never recommend again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
If this person really "bought" furniture 15 years ago, than he should have been happy that the lead time was only 5 weeks. Seeing how the lead times 15 years ago were 10-16 weeks. PM never promises something that there not sure they can do, i.e... call before the furniture is finished being built, to set up a delivery. Furniture can't and wont be set up for delivery until every single piece is actually in the warehouse; sadly customers can get a little too anxious and before long they misconschrew what they were told at the time of the sale which is what most likely what happend here!
On a finishing note, P.M. Bedroom Gallery is still the abosolute finest handcrafted Wisconsin furniture that money can buy.
I would agree PM is a horrible company for service after the sale. I bought a $2000 mattress set that had numerous problems within 4 years (defective box spring, sagging mattress over 3") and they refused to replace it under the 20 year warranty. They claim that the warranty only covers "repairs" and the customer is responsible for transportation costs (they quoted me $150!). So, while every other brand of mattress and every other retailer will replace your mattress with a new one if it defective, "high-end" PM Bedroom will take it away in their truck to some factory for 3 weeks and "fix" it for only $150! Wow, for a place that sells $25, 000 bedroom sets you would think they would give you better service than the basic chain store down the street; to top if off the Huth brothers and the other people at the company are not very nice. Plus, they are "F" rated now by the Wisconsin BBB. STAY AWAY!
We have bought from PM bedroom in past and have recently purchased from Penny Mustard. This company is nothing short of outstanding. We had a small issue with a seam on our solid oak footboard and it was resolved very quickly! I think many people get so furious when spending a great deal of money they just want it returned and that's it. When they don't get their way they throw a fit.
Futherm9re after just now looking at the BBQ of Wisconsin PM Bedroom Gallery does have an A+ rating not an F like the ignorant person above has stated. Also, none of his comments above are listed against a complaint against PM. People do your homework when purchasing and don't listen to ignorant comments like above and you won't get burned. Plain and simple.
