Damage Recovery Unit (DRU) review: Lack of effort

My rental car from Enterprise Rental Co. was involved in an accident on June 26, 2024, and was given a Date of Loss as June 30, 2024. Claim no. is [protected]. On August 2nd, I received an invoice in the amount of $2,983.91 from the DRU, and I responded in a letter dated 08/12/2024, that this accident was not my fault, and no payment would be forthcoming. On August 21, I received a call from Arelene Smith from the DRU. After almost 2 months after the accident, Ms. Smith was ignorant about the details of this accident. I provided her with the name of the other party, the car that they drove and the State and license plate number of their vehicle She WAS aware that the other driver was insured by USAA Indemnity Co., but she lacked the initiative and due diligence to call them to get the information she requested. When I told her that a representative from USAA, whose name and phone # I provided, told me they would assume full liability... Ms. Smith wanted Me to call that person to get her to call the DRU. This is unacceptable. It is Ms. Smith's job to make whatever calls and inquiries are necessary to determine liability... it is not my job to make calls that SHE should be making. Her response was to send me another bill for $2,983.91
