I hired him 10/14 to trim our trees, cut our flower bushes and side of house irises, spray organic weed killer to all landscape in front/side of house and haul everything away. He did trim our two trees on the bottom and the bushes. Then he said he forgot his long shears/ladder to do the top of trees. He would come back tomorrow. (10/15) I made the huge mistake of paying him earlier. His vm was not accepting calls. He texted later that he had to fix his truck and be there on 10/17 with someone else to help. He came around noon so I went inside and came back out about 15 minutes later, he was gone and the helper was sitting on the ground. He did little bit trimming but since he didn’t speak English- I showed it what he was to do. He said “si, si” and I went inside. David came back and said he was taking the buddy to lunch and will be back to finish the work. He never came back - he texted that he took the buddy to the ER cause he was sick. He also texted he would be here the next day. He never showed up nor text. I texted him every day to see when he was coming back to finish - he texted on 10/21 that he would be there tomorrow (10/22) at noon. It was not a good time for me so I suggested he come that day. As of today,10/27, I have not heard from him nor is the job completed. He won’t answer my texts nor clear his vm to receive calls. His card states he does 24 he emergencies but how could he? He didn’t want his name on the check - to leave it blank that his wife will deposit it but it was a man who endorsed it and a different company.
Desired outcome: I just want the job finished before cold weather comes.
It is too bad I saw this message too late. I had the same experience with David Tanner. I unfortunately paid him the entire amount for the work we agreed he would do however, today, 3 weeks later, he has not completed all the work. I have called multiple times and provided different excuses of why he did not show up. He is no longer accepting my calls and his voice mail is full. BEWARE. I do have an image of him on my ring door bell, I am thinking of blasting it out.
David Tanner is nothing less than a criminal and should be avoided. He broke a window on our house, initially lied about it only to agree to pay for the repair after witnesses confronted him. He never paid, his VM is always full and he did answer about three text message where is was bringing us the money for the repairs. He never did and that is months ago.
