STOP! Don't do it. Get a second opinion and READ everything you sign. They are crooks! I went to DebtStoppers to seek advise about filing a bankruptcy because I had an apartment charge on my credit that total $7000 and a tax lien from the Dept of Revunue. They advised me that it was best I file a Chapter 13 to stop the harassment. I took their advice and filed. True enough their fees were $3500 in which they make that seem like pennies. I filed last year Feb. Come to find out the apartment complex didn't file a claim against me which left me with the tax lien and a few small bills totaling $3000. After paying over $2200 in attoney fees, I decided to dismiss the case last month. Well, yesterday, I received a call from a Pierre Porter and David Lazono from their firm insisting I pay the remaining balance of $1200 to them or there would be seriour consequences. THIS WAS TOTALLY NOT EXPLAINED when I dismissed the bankruptcy last month. If it was, I would have given it more thought because why would anyone in their right mind choose to sign an agreement that says if the case if dismissed for any reason you still owe the $3500 regardless if you dismiss it voluntarily. I guess I wasn't in my right mind when they were cohersing me into signing the paperwork last year as I was filing. They are a total ripoff and you're right, there were so many blacks in their office and at the hearing. It was shameful but I fell into the trap and will forever regret it.

Your comment, "there were so many blacks in their office"... WTF? What does that have anything to do with your complaint about the firm? That just shows people that you see people in color, and not Americans. Which proves that your judgment isn't at where it should be and your head so far up your butt that you probably can smell your own crap that is coming from your mouth. And your comment about the attorney fees being paid even if you voluntarily dismiss your case. Well, yeah! Services just don't disappear just because you had cold feet. You think a venue would say ok that is fine if you've cancelled your wedding? You think the dentist will cancel their fees if you've decided to take your braces off and not wear it anymore? You think that you can refund a condom if you've decided to put it back in the wrapper and return it? Everything you try to say is like vomit out the mouth. Do you hear yourself speaking when you talk? Or are you just normally ignorant when you share your opinion? I am not against anyone leaving a bad review on any businesses. But I am against ignorant rants about something that could have been avoided if you were at least 70% adult. Man up and get your problem fixed. Loitering on the internet to leave negative racial comments aren't going to change the fact that you've used their services and decided to run off without paying. Ever heard of dine and dash? Now I need a refund from you for wasting my time elaborating these useful guidelines to you so that you can survive another 5 years of life. What a joke.

Sorry Random16 but the truth hurts and YOUR argument is without much logic.. just another uber sensitive individual always looking for a soap box to sand on and complain... Now for the logic.. they are a company that profits off predatory debt assistance that most times leaves the customer in a much worst situation than they were before. Think... payday lending interest rates for example.. and she was simply pointing out the obvious with her demographic observation.. the vast majority of people who become victims of companies like @debtstoppersATL are African Americans who live at or below the poverty line and live in poorer parts of the city and surroundings. Hey.. just check out where their offices are and you'll get the idea. They sure aren't in any hurry to open up shop in East Cobb or Johns Creek where people are too well educated to ever consider trusting their financial problems with such a filthy organization as @debtstoppersATL.. Think for a second before you lash out at someone who was just trying to get some help and was probably faced with two-faced, bait-and-switch employees who weren't in any hurry to advise her of the implications of the decisions she was making or walk through any fine print with her. These companies DO NOT care about their customers.. only about who they can trap next.
