They are a joke! Terrible at explaining everything. Then when I said I didnt want to use them they threatened me.
I strongly advise against employing DHI. I reside in the same area and experienced storm damage in August . Initially, we contacted them to replace our gutters, and when the salesman arrived, he suggested we could also get new siding. Our insurance adjuster was also problematic, but that's a separate issue. We were initially thrilled at the prospect of new gutters and siding. Come February, we signed the paperwork, selected a siding color, and were informed that the work would begin in late June or mid-July. This seemed reasonable, considering the widespread damage in our city. We would periodically check in for updates. However, June and July passed with no progress, and upon inquiry, we were told that choosing a different brand could expedite the process to two weeks. We agreed to the change. Yet, after two weeks, and then six, nothing happened. It turned out that the second color we chose was put on hold by the manufacturer right when we selected it, which we were not informed about, and it was unavailable everywhere. We liked the color enough to wait, and were told production would resume at the end of August, followed by a lead time for ordering, with installation expected in October. Surprisingly, we received a text in late July saying our siding would be delivered within a few days, and indeed, it arrived just an hour after the message. My wife, who works from home, didn't mind the early delivery. We sought a timeline and were told 'a couple of weeks,' but those weeks passed without any follow-up. Finally, in mid-August, a crew was assigned to us. They worked quickly and the initial results looked promising. However, they left a mess of trash, food waste, and cigarette butts at the end of the first day, which I had to address with the project manager. Then, we discovered one of the workers had urinated on our garage, which was completely unacceptable. The project manager had to intervene once more. As they moved on to wrapping our doors and windows, we noticed subpar work and had to request multiple redos. The front door alone was rewrapped three times before we reluctantly accepted it. I agreed to be satisfied with the job provided that a list of issues was addressed, but none were resolved by late October. Next, we faced delays with the gutter installation. I called weekly for updates, always being told 'next week,' but work only commenced after I directly contacted our representative's manager. The gutters were finally installed on October 21, but the original salesman had failed to document our gutter covers, leading to another round of insurance claims. Had the company offered regular updates, I might have rated them three stars, but due to the lack of communication, poor craftsmanship, and the crews' lack of decency, not to mention the constant delays and oversight, I can only give them one star.
I would recommend looking else where sales men were very good at telling you they will take care of you. (Which is a lie) We've been through 4 to 5 different case agents each of them dropped the ball on when passing our claim to the others. They hit one of our vehicles when delivering materials which they were claimed they were going to pay for the damage almost 18mos later nothing they have notes from one of our agents we had previously but to no avail. I finally had enough so I called the corporate office, again was told we would be taken care of this was 6mos + ago I'm calling both numbers I have daily no one seems to care enough to pick up the phone. I think it's despicable that these people took advantage of our community during a natural disaster. DO NOT EVEN CONCIDER THEM AS AN ASSEST. tell them to keep moving or the problems will just grow.
DHI was subcontracted to me by Steve Kemper Builders in late summer 2021 after trying to get my roof done for over a year due to hail damage. I had a signed contract through Kemper Builders that states the final roof cost would be $8500 after my $1000 deductible. The roofers did a good job but DHI kept gouging me and harassing me for more money. They tried to get more money from my insurance company (almost $20,000 for a small roof) by claiming that they ran out of tiles for the garage roof and needed an extra $3,500 for more. The problem with that being that they never put a roof on my garage at all for some reason. So they told me that I had to pay an extra $2,400 or so for the roof. My insurance company agreed to give them an extra $900 for Ice and Water shield. I gave them that and explained that no one did the garage roof they were trying to charge me for so the lady named at DHI told me the $900 would be enough and I'd be paid off. I took screenshots of the $0 balance paid.
A month or so later they called back and said I owed $1500 still. They were still trying to charge me for the garage roof they didn't do. They knocked a measly $1,000 off for the garage and were adamant I still owed $450. I told the lady, who had a difficult-to-pronounce name, that I've paid what I owed twice already and was tired of getting constantly hounded. I finally paid the $450 so I could be left alone. I'm sure they'll come after me a few more times for some more work that wasn't done. They did a good job with the roof but they were a nightmare otherwise. Would NOT recommend.

We were also told someone would be back to pick up the left over siding and material. However, we have waited several weeks and have had no contact form anyone connected with DHI. We have also discovered when the workers did the siding they damaged several of the window screens. We will now havae to spend several hundered dollars getting them replaced. I would be hard pressed to recommend this company.We have also discovered in and around the house nails and slivers of the steel siding they were installing.

I am very disappointed with DHI. For starters, I was told that the crew would be big enough to finish the job in one day. The job got started on a Friday and didn't finish up until the following Wednesday. The roof got rained on over the weekend. The crew didn't clean up on Friday night, and I had to call them to come pick up on Saturday morning. For most of the project, it was a 2-man crew, and I never saw more than 3 people there at one time. I was also promised that a Supervisor would be on site during the whole project. There was hardly ever a Supervisor on site. When the job was done, I had to call one of the supervisors to come back and pick up nails because my tenant sent me a photo of a handful of nails that she had picked up herself. I paid in full after the job was complete, even though I wasn't happy with DHI.
The roof is now leaking, and this is where my real frustration starts. After several failed attempts to get the Project Manager to send a crew out to fix the leak, I contacted the ComplaintsBoard.com. After at least 3 calls to the ComplaintsBoard.com, still nothing got done. I wrote a bad review on the company website, and got a call from customer service the next day. I was told that a manager would be calling me, but that was over 2 weeks ago. I started calling about the leaky roof back in April and it is now September and nobody has attempted to fix my roof. Do not do business with this company!

I have talked with the manager; explained these issues and he said "I understand", they simply don't care. This is all before they have collected any payment; how bad will it be should we have to call after they get paid?

If you want a nightmare call DHI they are guaranteed to drive you insane.

DHI replaced our roof end of last year, we really feel the company did great job because they do have great employees like Peter. Peter J the project manager from DHI is so clear about everything, very professional and very patient to explain. and help me talk with my insurance. i am very pleased with DHI working my roof. whenever i have questions before or after job is done, they are so easy to reach and answer and solving my problem Peter is the best! His professionalism is impeccable. He is utterly conscientious and remarkably hardworking. His care of his customers simply goes beyond any simple call of duty. He is fast in returning calls. He is responsive and responsible particularly in terms of any possibly remaining issue, if any, at any time. He checks out everything in person even if just for an eventually would-be false alarm and never leaves a stone unturned. He is utmost dependable and trustworthy. How could he not be in this regard? Peter is indeed the best!
Several weeks ago, we had a heavy rain and strong winds. The next day we saw a small stain on the ceiling in an upstairs bedroom. We thought that we may have some damage. My wife noticed a few signs in other yards in the neighborhood for DHI Roofing. We called and a day later they sent Peter J by to take a look. Peter spent about an hour inspecting the roof and found where an old satellite dish had been twisted in the high wind and pulled some trim loose from the fireplace. He said the rest of the roof was in pretty good shape except for a couple of vent flashing. I asked him what the cost would be to repair all and he said nothing and he would come back when he had a little time himself. Well he came back yesterday and removed the old satellite dish, reinstalled the trim and caulked it. He also replaced the vent flashing and caulked them. He wouldn't take any pay for the work, but just told us to keep DHI in mind for future work. What an outstanding young man and company! We highly recommend them!

Highly recommend NOT using DHI
Highly recommend NOT using DHI. I too live in *** and had storm damage in August . We called them initially to replace our gutters and when the salesman showed up, he thought he could get us siding too. Our adjuster was awful also but that's another story. From the jump we were excited that we were getting gutters and siding. Signed some paperwork around February, picked a siding color and were told it would be late June/ mid-July before we got any work. Understandable when 100% of the buildings in an entire city has some type of damage. We'd call every so often for an update, then June and July pass so we called and were told if we chose a different brand, it could be done it two weeks. So, we did that. Two weeks came and went, a month maybe 6 weeks before I called again. Turns out the second color we chose had been put on hold by the manufacturer for three months AROUND THE *** WE PICKED IT OUT, which was never mention and the entire *** was out of it. We really liked the color so we decided to stick with it and were told it would go back into production end of August, there's a lead time then they have to order, and we'd get siding in October. A little time goes by and we get a text late July our siding will be delivered in a few days and we were excited it was early! An hour after that text they drop off the siding. Whatever my wife works from home so no big deal. Call for a timeline, told a couple weeks. A couple weeks come and go no call, ever, to follow up or update. Call again, told a couple weeks. Mid August we finally were assigned a crew. Crew comes, they work quick and the work looks good so far. End of the first day they left and there was just trash everywhere. Food wrappers, chicken wing bones which I luckily found before my dogs, pop bottles and cigarettes. I asked the *** to chat with them to keep things clean they improved but still not ideal. Then one day my wife is looking at things and realized one of workers urinated on our garage. Unacceptable. *** had a chat with them again. Then they started wrapping our doors and window. A lot of work was subpar, so we had them redo a lot. In the end our front door was wrapped three times before we accepted and believe me we let some stuff slide. I signed a paper saying I would be happy with the job as long as some other things were fixed and the crew left. Nothing on that list has been fixed as of late Oct. Next came the gutters. I called once week to see when we would get gutters. Every time I was told next week, next week, next week. One week we were out of town and I let them know I wanted to be in town when work was done considering all the issues with the siding. Guess who showed up while we were gone. My mother-in-law was watching our dogs and she told them to come back once we were home. Call for an update. Next week, comes and goes, next week, comes and goes. Mind you I called ever time. Not once did I get a courtesy call. I can't even guess how many times I was told I'll get back to you and never heard anything without calling or texting myself. Finally the last week passed and was tired of being ignored and calling myself so asked for our reps *** number. Called him and he said next week. That time it happened. We finally got gutters yesterday Oct 21 but the original DHI salesman that took phots and documented everything to get a quote for insurance neglected to include we had gutter covers. Now I have to deal with insurance and start a whole other process. In the end if they would have provided unprompted updates I wolud have maybe given 3 stars but complete lack of communication, poor workmanship and decency form the crews they outsource, delay after delay, and lack of attention to detail get them one star.

I used DHI to do my roof and gutters in the late summer/early fall of 2020
I used DHI to do my roof and gutters in the late summer/early fall of 2020. I was informed that they would charge me whatever the insurance company paid out for these services. My insurance company didn't pay for part of the gutters, so I understood there was going to be additional amounts owed. I have been provided the final invoice of $9,779.85, but have paid $9954.98. I've been trying to get this overage sent back to me since the beginning of December , and at first they were returning phone calls and messages, and now it's been weeks and I haven't heard anything. Their website also refers to a $150 referral bonus, which my project manager said I should be eligible for since I referred them to my neighbor, who also got his roof and gutters done by DHI. I haven't heard anything about this, either.

DHI installed a new roof in September
DHI installed a new roof in September. They were also supposed to repair the soffit and facia damage that sustained from the storm and replace the gutters and downspouts on our house. Because they had crews following behind them and checked the color of the gutters and down spouts i went ahead and paid them for the full amount of the repairs. Since that time all we have had is excuses as to why they haven't been able to get the job done. The project manager will not answer a phone and now the manager of the local office will not return calls either. We have been very patient with them because of the weather in our area and have given them plenty of time to schedule this. Because they have been paid for this, to the tune of $4335.77, we would either like the job done or our money back so we can have another company finish the job.

DHI roofing did one of my coworker's roof and they said it was a fantastic experience. I happened to be there the day it went on and the guy in charge was very professional and handled everything nicely. If I need to use them myself in the future, I will (I live in an apartment currently).

They made the process very simple, working with our insurance company so that we had very little to deal with on our own. Due to the current supply chain issues, things took slightly longer than we were hoping but once they started it went smooth and fast and looks great.
