I have been paying domestic and general insurance to protect my dishwasher for years and when they decided they could not find a replacement part, they decided they would replace my machine, however it will cost me anouther 106 pounds.The money i have paid over the years by far outweighs the price of the machine they want me to pay more for. ! Not to mention the replacment machine is known for being of poor quality and a useless machine.I tried talking to customer services and the replacement team, but they will not BUDGE and they will not let me speak to a manager.Very poor customer care from this company, however they are happy to KEEP TAKING your MONEY !.They advertise New for Old at no extra cost, but what they mean is pay monthly installments and when your machine needs replacing YOU will have to pay near anough haif the cost of a new machine AGAIN. WHAT A RIP OFF ! (just to speak to a manager would be a start) I will never be using this company again, i would advise others to find a better insurer.

SPOT ON BUDDY! they are ripping my wife off too...we cancelled a plan but before doing so she asked them "will i owe anything?"...they said "NO" our payments had covered the cost of the repairs they did on our washing machine... Then two months later we get a letter requesting a load of money...we obviously refused and now they are going to take us to court and charge us an extra £100... DO NOT USE DOMESTIC AND GENERAL...THEY ARE A CON COMPANY AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED THE RUN AS AN OFFICIAL COMPANY!

I have to agree that Domestic and General are operating a so called repair service that it actually nothing less than a scam.

I agreed to a repair service on the basis that if my boiler couldn't be repaired there'd be nothing to pay.

Well you probably guessed it! ... The engineer needed my boilers instruction manual merely to take the front cover off! and then declared he couldn't repair it. Two months later, D&G have instructed a debt collection company to recover payment for the "REPAIR"? Work that one out!

They have done this in spite of the fact that I've called them and written to them twice, confirming that they didn't repair it - but they're simply ignoring everything.

Do yourself a huge favour and stear well clear of this company - they're simply out to scam the public.
