Simply put, my body looked better before my surgery! I have one breast higher than the other, this is after a corrective surgery (Dr Kaufman performed initial and corrective surgery)after the initial augmentation. After my abdominalplasty my belly button healed the size of a half dollar with major scarring all around it(my belly button was perfect before surgery)! My hips and or "saddle bags" are so uneven and distorted I cannot wear the proper size pants. As for my upper and lower eye lift the scars on my eyelids are very jagged not straight at all. I requested that Dr Kaufman contribute to paying to get my body in some kind of acceptable way, he did not. If I could post before and after picture here I would. I feel he convinced me to do too many procedures at once and his expertise was rushed and failed. Not only is my body distorted, emotionally it was very draining. It has been two years and I am just getting the emotional strength to have Dr Kaufman's botched surgery corrected.

I wonder what your comments would be if your surgery was "Botched"! Also, if you are so happy with your surgery why are you on this site? I get the feeling you were "encouraged" to post your statement. I am not "Bashing" your Doctor, I am sharing my experience! American...freedom of speech! Please review the picture of my belly button attached and it cannot be repaired!

Hi Kate, You should give me a call...you have my numbers. I t has nothing to do with liking you and your husband...it has to do with expertise...your husband destroyed my body...happy that you finally "found" your voice...should have happen a long time ago!

I personally give Dr Kaufman... every right to defend himself...bring it on. I totally acknowledge that the CA Board found he did nothing wrong...my body speaks louder! He should have reached out to me...I know that he knows $$$ was obviously more important. I have one of my dogs at a vet right now that is going to cost what your husband cost me...he should have accepted his failure.

You need to speak to an attorney and sue that low life.

I, too, went to Dr. Kaufman and had a life-changing experience. I also went in for corrective surgery and he performed nothing short of a miracle for me--other doctor's didn't know if it could be done. I'm sorry you had a bad experience and I hope that you can be made whole again, however, everyone's plastic surgery experience is unique and one doctor who had less than desirable results on one patient may have near-perfect results on 9 others. I don't think bashing a surgeon online is the best approach when there are other avenues you can pursue to address your individual issue and correct the problems you experienced with your surgeries. I wish you the best and hope you are able to resolve the problems. I know how it feels to have "sideways" results when you go into a situation expecting perfection (or something in the neighborhood) and a whole new look and come out looking much less than perfect and feeling lower self-esteem-wise than you did before.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I don't believe you are bashing Dr.Kaufman. It is a free Country & you have every right to share your experience so that you can get it off your chest (& a patient that is considering him can be more couscious after doing their homework) so that you can have some clouser, because I'm sure that Dr.kaufman is not going to give you your money back & he will not fix the botched surgery for free & plastic surgeons are so well protected that you can't sue for your unhappy results; therefore, getting it off your chest "online is" absolutly "the best approach" .
I too was going to go to him untill I read your comments & after I met his wife . Plastic surgeons need to be more honest & not so cocky. If they can't do something they need to tell you, or tell you that you may not be happy with the results because there is only so much they can do. Not just take your money with out regards. Let the patient decide.
I have been shopping for a plastic surgeon for some time now & have seen over 15 surgeons and even saw surgeons everytime I was down in O.C. & then realized that I wanted someone local. I met Dr.Kaufman & his wife (the Shark) some time ago. I was willing to give them $19000 untill I was so uncomfortable with the husband & wife (his nurse) duo. She would not let him speak & when he would I felt that he was holding back because his wife was there. I also felt she was staring @me more than the Doc. & that was real strange. I guess it's not always profitable to have your wife at the office.
I did finally go to a great local Surgeon @ Nuance in Folsom, CA and I am thrilled with my results, but most of all the Doctor gave me a very comfortable and professional experience. Also, they did not have the gossipy chatter atmosphere like the other office did.
So, thank you for your postings. I know that knowing you helped one person go someplace else will give you some comfort.

To the woman with the "botched" surgery and the psycho who has seen 15 different doctors, I would be interested to see your before pictures. It is really hard to believe that you had no improvements from all of that surgery. It kind of sounds like you and ajsrbt need to maybe seek some psychological help and get your brain fixed before you do anything to fix your bodies. People don't find psycho/unstable people attractive even if you have a nice set of breasts and a flat stomach!

Hello! This is Kate Kaufman (aka “The Shark) responding… These posts were brought to our attention by a company that “makes them go away…”. My husband and I are firm believers in Free Speech, and we don’t feel that that approach is appropriate or ethical.
Though the patient does have the right to Free Speech in this arena, unfortunately the physicians do not. Physicians and their staff are restricted by Patient Privacy laws and cannot directly address a patient’s issue or complaint in a public forum such as this. A patient can write anything they want (about anyone) and do it anonymously… hiding behind usernames… and not owning their words.
What I would like to say in our defense… is that we have an awesome practice! Our staff is amazing… and our surgeons ROCK! We feel so fortunate that a vast majority of our patient population is FABULOUS! These patients are like extended family and we love them.
As in every practice, there are patients that cannot be made happy no matter what you do. Sometimes it is difficult to assess someone’s personality in a one-hour consultation. We encourage the patients to interview their potential doctor… just as the doctor should be interviewing the patient. We also encourage our patients to see 2 or 3 different surgeons to find someone that provides mutual comfort, trust and confidence… this is very different than “doctor shopping” and that raises a huge red flag.
As of this moment… we have performed 2720 surgeries in our Folsom facility over the past 5 years. That number alone makes me so proud of my husband and Dr. Clark for an obvious job well done. So for all of our past and present patients… thank you and you are awesome. For all our future patients, I encourage you to come in and see for yourself instead of taking any doctor (or wife) bashing seriously. I promise I won’t bite you!
DaNa… DaNa… DaNa!

Just happened to see this exchange and would like to add a few thoughts. I KNOW there is always another side of the story! Unfortunately, we cannot read Dr. Kaufman's mind as he is unable to defend himself on this 'blog'. But, actually, I wouldn't want him to 'lower' himself by doing so on a public forum, anyway! He is a professional and an expert at what he does. He is not perfect. No one is perfect, no NOT one! I commend Kate for coming to the defense of her husband, Dr. Kaufman, and Dr. Clark, and the whole office staff.
Everything she said is so 'right on'! I, personally, interviewed Dr. Kaufman- I even brought along a knowledgeable friend who knows all the plastic surgeons in the Folsom/Placerville area because of her skin care clinic. I chose Dr. Kaufman and put my trust in his expertise. The results are amazing- not perfect- but amazing! I love the office and "the gossipy chatter atmosphere" described above is more like a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. I would also like to add that whenever I had a question or needed help, I would call or email and would get an IMMEDIATE response- almost unheard of now-a-days! And, Dr. Kaufman - cocky? Are you kidding me!? He is the most humble, 'down to earth' doctor I have ever met (besides, of course, Dr Clark, who I can't say enough about!). My advice to anyone looking to have any kind of plastic surgery done: 1) interview 2 or 3 doctors - 15 is ridiculous! 2) read their patient reviews 3) make sure your personal life is not jacked up because no amount of plastic surgery is going to fix that! 4) don't expect a miracle/ don't expect perfection- but, I think you'll be very happy with either doctor at Kaufman and Clark.

Dr. Kaufman ruined my face with laser surgery--I have seen several doctors since and the first response is always the same, "who did this to your face"? In my last appt with Dr. Kaufman I mentioned how botched I was and he stated that I looked fine to him (?) I cannot explain how difficult this has been--it's embarrassing because I cannot hide the damage--it's right there in front of me--on my entire face! As a last ditch effort I consulted with a University of California dermatologist who referred me to an expert in facial laser correction--I have spent close to $10, 000 and am still being treated to correct the damage--EVERYONE I see thinks that Dr. Kaufman should pay for the repair work, but I know he will not do it. Before anyone else responds with all of your explanations for this doctor, I have some food for thought for you---if you went to a professional who ruined your face and made it look as if you were a fire survivor, what would your opinion be? I would never, ever, ever recommend this doctor to anyone---I don't care about your staff, your credentials, etc. The proof is in the result and I am stuck with the damage for the rest of my life.

OK, so WHO is the "tummy tuck" expert in Sacramento region ? It seems many have specific specialties and I'm finding it hard to find this information. Comments please. Any specific sites?

I've had three surgeries performed by Dr Kaufman and he did a fantastic job on all of them! I'm a very picky, 'hard to please' person and the results were even better than I expected. Even my husband said, "I never dreamed the surgery would make that much difference!" One last note about the person who posted the complaint about the 'botched' surgery -- take a look at the author's byline (natural result). It's obvious the writer of the complaint wants to sabotage plastic surgery to push the sale of his 'natural' product'. Can't trust his comment!
