This is a copy of my dispute with ezpass ny .Your records are incorrect. Please provide a detailed accounting of my account including anything signed by me when I opened this account. I have called numerous times to try to correct this and continue to get bills. I have not owned a vehicle OR used e-zpass since at least 2019. In reviewing my emails I had a credit balance of $6.19 on 12/09/20. I received an email stating that the credit card associated with the account was declined (card stolen) and that I needed to resubmit a deposit. I called to inform that I no longer had the vehicle and that I no longer needed the pass and to refund the credit balance. I then received another notice in April of 2021. This time it stated I had a -3.81 balance. I responded by email, again stating that I no longer owned the vehicle and was not using the pass (as I had indicated the year before). I received an email attempting to explain this negative balance and was advised it was a result of the tag. I again called and indicated this was incorrect. I was told the account was closed but I would not be receiving the $6.19 back because the tags were not returned.

I thought the matter was resolved but then received a letter on1/08/23 stating that my account was in arrears and that I now owed $15.81. I attempted to call but was on hold for over 40 minutes. I tried to go online but was blocked out of my account. I tried to call multiple times but continued to be on hold for over thirty minutes.

Then today I received an email stating that I now owed $46.81. I called and again waited on hold for over thirty minutes. No one can explain the inconsistencies or why my account was not closed BACK when it had a credit of $6.19 and was TOLD that it was closed. I was also told it was all my fault and that it would be sent to collection. This is ridiculous and inconsistent.

I dispute that I owe anything and request a full accounting of this account as well as an explanation as to these unauthorized charges. I will be speaking with a public advocate as well. I also request that this account be immediately closed. Any further action to collect on this invalid debt will be considered a violation of the fair debt collecting act. I have attached corresponding emails as well. I would also point out that I have attempted on at least 3 occasions to pay the original disputed $3.81 by phone but the system would not recognize my account or zip and again put on a never ending hold.
