This company has repeatedly made excuses not to repair numerous leaking panels, and a badly fitting door, failed to keep appointments and not returned phone calls or emails. The manager is rude obnoxious and wholly unprofessional. One excuse after another has been made as to why they can not keep appointments, the guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on, the units are overpriced and of a poor quality. there is rising damp causing condensation and a swollen floor due to the cheap wood used as a base on the floating floor.

report to trading standards
I was initially very happy with my Extend a Room conservatory and gladly praised them to one and all.
However the door leaked during the first winter and completely ruined the wooden floor inside. I am now finding it very difficult to even get a reply to my emails and calls event though I have a warranty. I guess I will soon need to involve my legal team.
Has anyone else had a problem?
I had a 3m x 3m conservatory built by Extendaroom installed a few years ago and the product is fine.
I did however, have a problem with the owner of the company in that I was promised a delivery date, I took the day off work, I was self-employed at the time, this was a waste of time as nothing was delivered, The material arrived the following morning along with the fitters. The job went well and I'm happy with the product.
I sent the company an invoice for loss of earnings in respect of the day I took off, this has never been paid as the boss said that there was no need to be present when the parts were delivered. He really expected me to accept responsibility for it.
I then told him that I was going to dissuade friends/family/neighbours from using the company due to his attitude.
Currently I've managed to put-off 18 potential customers, they have all gone elsewhere for their conservatories.
i had a conservatory put in by them and over the past 5 years have had all the windows replaced. Tee roof leaked from the start and now has sealant to stop it leaking more. The hinges are rusting and they don't care a jot.
I too had a conservatory built by Extend A Room about 5 years ago, and have had nothing but problems and numerous repairs done to it... including an outstanding one to this day.. I will however be waiting a very long time for Extend A Room to fix it, as I found out today that they no longer exist and apparently ceased trading due to the recession - last month. That makes all the extended warranties that we bought worthless and I will now have to pay a second time to get someone else to fix my leaking roof.
I am sure there will be plenty of Extend A Room customers who will be left in the lurch by this, and probably many worse off than me.
Craig Miller - Extend A Room MD has set up a new business AluFold Direct.. http://www.alufolddirect.co.uk/ (according to online company checks) I have phoned them and tried to speak to Mr Miller, but as yet I have not been able to be put through to him and he has not returned my calls... I think he will be quite difficult to get hold of..if at all.
I have sought the advice of Trading Standards, But I fear the reality is there won't be much that can be done to recover any financial loss..
Any advice from others that may have been affected by Extend A Room would be welcomed.
We had a conservatory several years ago & the roof still leaks. The engineer only ever stuck a load of sealant along the edges but I said it wasn't dealing with the problem. They tried to make out it was condensation. I have a dehumidifier in there constantly but our laminate floor was ruined as soon as the first leak.
I managed to speak to Craig Miller yesterday but as soon as I mentioned Extend A Room he hung up on me.
Glad I never gave the men that installed it a tip; they hung around long enough at the end waiting for one!
Please keep up the fight against this company . They put all complaints in the bin with no intention of ever seeing them through. They were professional bullies to staff and customers. Craig miller lives very comfortably in his million pound home at the expense of you all. Keep fighting for your consumer rights

We have been trying to get through to these people to repair the leaking roof of the conservatory of my 83 year old parents. Can anyone advise if the business is actually still trading as i/m getting nowhere. Sounds like the warranty they have is worthless...
I am also in the same boat as all the complainants. My conservatory which was installed two years ago has been leaking from day one and they sent someone to repair it the first time it was reported and the leaks was fixed until now when it started leaking again due to the heavy rain we had.I tried to contact the company without success.I was not aware they went out of business.Although so far everything else is satisfactory except the leaks, I am worried that they may not last, reading the problems highlighted here.I hope not.I guess I we cannot do anything and these cowboys can go on to heap more miseries on some other unsuspecting souls. What a shame we cannot put a pop up on his new business to warn other customers.
I bought a conservatory from Extend-A-Room 5 years ago. To be honest it has been trouble free and I've been fortunate enough to enjoy the additional space. This morning I noticed a small water leak from one of the roof joints where two panes of glass marry. It's the first time I've experienced a problem with my conservatory so I just tried to call the company on [protected] but the number does not work. I checked their website (www.extendaroom.co.uk) and that appears to be live and gives the same number. However, it seems that they are no longer trading. Does anyone know if the company has definitely ceased trading?
Bloody Extend a room has had a negative effect on me trying to sell my bungalow. It leaks in most of the joining parts, the door sticks, When the conservatory was put up 5 years ago I was reasonably pleased, you would hope so after parting with nearly £9.000! I have noticed mould climbing up the walls, the floorboards do not feel over safe and I'm sure I have heard small animals that have got underneath the conservatory. I wish I had waited and saved a bit more and got a "proper" conservatory built. The Guarantee for Extend a Room is worthless, I have tried several telephone numbers but the are all unrecognised, and as far as I am aware the company no longer exists. My faith in human nature diminishes everyday. What a bunch of thieves, should be ashamed with what they have done to honest, good people.
We had the Extend a room rep round to quote us for a conservatory - he did the normal pressure selling tactics, which I am ashamed to say we fell for.
We stupidly handed over a cheque for nearly £3000 - within days, we couldn't go ahead with the build, and despite the sales reps assurances that they never take peoples money if they change their minds, we never saw a penny back - basically £2800 to have the rep sit in our kitchen for the best part of 4 hours. This company has no integrity my advise AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs - I am happy to provide my contact details to prove this is a real person leaving a real review.
Simon - Sidcup, Kent.
We moved into our current house in October 2012. We did have a full structural survey done. Alas, 4 years on, the extension at the rear of the house which was built by EXTEND A ROOM LTD in 2009 looks as though it may have to be pulled down and re-built properly and most likely at our expense. We recently noticed movement in the floor and called in a builder to see what was going on. He discovered that the plywood sheeting, fixed to both the outside and inside of the steel frames goes down below ground level. It is in direct contact with the ground resulting in moisture rotting the plywood. Filling the steel frames and between the now rotten sheets of plywood is fibreglass insulation. This is also now very wet. I note that the Company was dissolved on 03/11/2015. Has anybody managed to get any compensation?
I tried to contact the company at the beginning of 2016 as I have problems with my conservatory, the roof and the door but found out the company had dissolved in 2015. I also have two porches which were built (if you can say that)
at the same time as the conservatory, the glass in them is so badly marked I am sure it is seconds. Also the door handles are all cracked. I asked the company to replace them but they never replied to my phone calls or letters.
So much for the Guarantee not worth the paper it is printed on.
I see with interest that CRAIG MILLER is once again trading in conservatories. AVOID AVOID AVOID. they are nothing more than thieves erecting cowboy conservatories taking your savings. They target over 50s with disposable income or inheritance and then leave you hanging when it's leaking swelling and bowing.
