This breeder is producing kittens with the corona virus leading quickly to FIP - The FIP Virus details can be found on many website online. Any kitten with FIP will die painfully and slowly if not put to sleep. Not only does this breeder produce sick kittens, her home is untidy and unclean. The kittens/cats live in small cages and water is very unhygienic, by this i mean bits of soiled litter in water bowls. I would also like to add that on placing deposits for her kittens, on finding out how sick her cats are she will refuse to give you your money back, . She is also known for selling sick kittens, and on death not offering your money back or a replacement kitten. Many have lost hundred and hundreds of pounds! She will then ignore you, not to mention play on illness to not speak to you. A nasty woman, who doesn't care for her animals or customers! STAY CLEAR!

My wife and i bought from this breeder. Within 8 days he was dead. We paid for a postmortem to be carried out and sadly, it was FIP. We found a breeder based in Wiltshire to buy another kitten from and now our family is complete. Fiona did not reply to my calls, texts or emails. I have to agree that i would not buy from this breeder ever again. On collection we found the house to be similar to whats been mentioned above.

OMG you do not know Fiona and are not describing what I know of her. She has been successfully and conscientiously been breeding kittens for many years and is well known and respected in the world of cats. This sounds like a stitch-up bordering on lible!
Yes she is sick... very sick, it is not a case of playing on illness at all.
For your information corona virus, of which there are over 40 strains, is insignificant unless mutations of only one of the strains is brought on by stress or illness causing it to be transformed from FECV to FIPV. Most cats have been exposed to the virus at some stage and, although there is no cure, live a full and healthy life.
Please get you facts right before slagging off people!

this is obviously a very jealous breeder who started this, and a very bad breeder judging by this http://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany/drambuieberry-holly-smith-a492394.html, i dont know mrs House personally but i have only heard good things about her in the breeding world, unlike Miss Holly smith who s name crops up a lot at shows i frequent, she claims to breed Pure British shorthair Pedigrees but its obvious some are crossed with moggy cats, she also is slightly mad ! keep away from her!

My husband and I purchased a silver spot BSH kitten from Fiona House in March 2012. We visited and although her house was very messy (she said she had cancer...not too sure if that was true) she showed us the cattery in her back yard and it all seemed clean. We were asked to pay a £50 deposit in advance of our visit in order to 'secure' a kitten as so many people were after the few she had. She showed us the kittens (only a couple of weeks old at the time) which should have rung bells. Another excellent breeder I usually get my kittens from very sensibly won't let anyone near her kittens until they are at least 4 weeks old in case of infection. We were asked for a further £200 non-refundable deposit (again bells should have rung :( ) which we complied with. Then I got an e-mail saying our kitten had died but that we could have another one from the same litter so there was no problem. When the kitten was 10 weeks of age Fiona House INSISTED that we go and pick up our kitten and pay the rest of the money we owed her (another £250). I was concerned as my usual breeder does not allow her kittens to be picked up until they are 12 weeks old. Again we were pressured into collecting the kitten asap by her statement that if we didn't collect it at 10 weeks old she would keep him longer but charge us £100 per week to do so. Of course by now I was certain that this woman was more interested in money than the kittens in her charge but could not pull out of the agreement or would lose the £250 deposit we had already given her. We arrived at her house and in contrast to our previous visit there were kittens EVERYWHERE in the house. I was now concerned that we had gotten ourselves caught up in a 'kitten farm' arrangement :( Fiona gave us our kitten...he was TINY and certainly didn't look as if he was 10 weeks old. Then she gave us his Pedigree papers which I read there and then and pointed out they did not refer to the parentage of the kitten she said she was selling us. She took a long time to search her computer and print off what appeared to be the correct pedigree papers. She also gave us a scrappy piece of printed paper saying it was from her vet to say the kitten had been checked that day and was worm free. We left taking a very tiny kitten with us. As soon as we got home we weighed the wee mite. He weighed 650 grams and was very bony. He should have weighed nearly twice that for his supposed age. We took him straight to our vet the following morning to get him checked over. Our vet stated that he was about 6/7 weeks old and had a heavy worm burden and gave us medication for him. We managed to get rid of his worms but he never seemed as healthy as previous BSH kittens we had bought from our usual breeder. Only a short while later he stopped eating and appeared depressed and unwell. We took him straight back to our vet who stated that they thought he had FIP and kept him in to do tests. They called us later to say that FIP had been confirmed and we gave them permission to put the wee lad down to end his suffering. What really makes me angry is that the kitten we bought from Fiona House passed on the virus to our older, normally hale and hearty, healthy BSH. Luckily it did not progress to FIP as it had in the kitten. I did not even bother to contact Fiona House to tell her about the sickly kitten she sold us and in return I never heard from her again asking how the kitten was doing...so she either didn't care about the kitten or knew she had sold us a sickly kitten. if any proof is required as to my above comments I can produce a full report from my veterinary surgeon and I am happy to attend any court or official hearing to give evidence.

It has been brought to my attention that an advertised British Short
Hair breeder is using this medium to jeopardise the reputation of
myself. Unfortunately, after seeking advice I am unable to refute any
spurious comments made by them or by any other dubious persons using
questionable e-mail addresses.
Suffice to say that the Dorset police
are still monitoring these sites with these libellous comments and are
still continuing to build their case. I would ask that anyone reading
this that has any doubts or questions for them to contact me.

Subject: RE: Your bad cat breeders list
Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2014 14:50:15 -0700

Dear Ms. House,

I'm the chairman of CFA's Protest Committee, which takes action against “bad” breeders, so your e-mail was forwarded to me for a response.

You didn’t provide any information about the list you were viewing but I have been unable to find the information you referenced on the CFA web site (www.cfa.org) or in any of our publications. It appears your problem is not with CFA but with someone else who may have a personal grudge against you and/or CFA. Our only “bad” list is on our web site and names people who have been formally disciplined or suspended by CFA. Your name is *NOT* on our list: http://www.cfa.org/Portals/0/documents/org/disciplinary-suspensions.pdf.

There are currently a plethora of web sites and e-mail lists whose only purpose is to "trash" people. Many of the operators of these sites use fake names and hide behind fake organizations. Some even try to extort money by offering to remove offending material for a “research fee.”

My advice to you is to retain a lawyer who is familiar with the laws of defamation (slander and libel). Your attorney can help you investigate the source of the offending list. The lawyer should be able to advise you regarding your rights and options against the person maintaining the objectionable list. Perhaps he or she can send a letter to the offenders, or even file a defamation action.

There are a variety of other things you can do yourself about online harassment. Unfortunately, the world is very large, and most of the remedies are not very effective. You or your lawyer might contact the ISP that hosts the web site where the list is published. Most are unwilling to let their services be abused in this way, and will cancel the user’s site if they violate the ISP's rules for use.

Unfortunately an ISP can ban an offender only to have that person go off and start new site where they can continue trashing people. The Internet is unregulated and people can assume new (fake) identities at will. Internet providers have banned people for bad conduct only to have them start up elsewhere within minutes of being removed. They do this again and again and there is no way to stop it. Most attempts to control content invariably fail. Even governments have found the Internet nearly impossible to police.

I note that you have a “UK” e-mail address. The United Kingdom has some of the most generous libel and slander laws in the world. Again, I strongly suggest you seek legal advice from an attorney immediately.

Good luck.

I am very happy for the Dorset Police to contact me if they so wish to do so...but as a retired police officer I suggest that what you have written is a load of rubbish because if you were REALLY intending to take action against people on this Complaints Board it would have to be done privately through the courts and at your own expense because it is NOT a police matter.

I add to my statement the new findings from the Web Sites in question...

The same as sites that are sister sites to this one (FAKE CFA BAD BREEDERS LIST) that then pray on some that are innocent wishing for the material to be removed others however on the list know it exists and are linked to this one already !

Here is a statement from the Actual Chairman of the Cat Fed ### WORLD WIDE CAT FANCY REGISTRATION BODY.

These sites use people to extort HUGE sums of Money to have such slanderous posts removed from the very sites THEY have set up .

I rest my case ... the letter above confirms what I wrote. YOU have to take action privately against anyone on this board who you believe is slandering your reputation.
If your above statement about 'spurious comments from dubious persons using questionable e-mail addresses' refers to me then I look forward to hearing from your solicitor accusing me of libel. I will produce any and all evidence the court may require from me that will confirm my above statement ... and I WILL claim costs against you.

My Wife and i purchased a beautiful kitten from Ms F House in 2013. Within 9 days our Bella stopped eating, she became tired and her energy levels dropped. On taking her to the vets she was put to sleep. After an investigation it was proved the kitten died from FIP and it had come from her parents and original breeder. After this devastation we went on to purchase a beautiful little boy from the breeder you late here Miss Holly Smith based in Wiltshire. Our little boy has a zero virus level and is clear of FIP. He is a very healthy 9 month old kitten now.

I urge everyone to stay away from Ms Fiona House.

I purchased a black and silver tabby in 2014 from fiona house. My kitten died at 16 weeks of age of fip as a postmortem confirmed. Our family are devastated. I have tried to contact ms house and have had no response. I know of three others who have also purchased from this breeder all their kittens have also died of fip within weeks. Two of us have no other animals and none of our kittens went outside. This breeder doesnt care for her cats or kittens. Disgrace.

I have been asked to come and share my experience with Miss Fiona House by JTHOMAS 33 of whom i know through a facebook group about British Shorthair Kittens. I have however never met him or his partner.

I was searching for a Pedigree Bsh Kitten. Miss Fiona House was recommended to me by JTHOMAS33 and his partner who had taken their first of two kittens from this breeder. They placed a deposit for two kittens one in 2013 and one in 2014. I placed a deposit 1 week after their kitten was collected. Excited i went out and purchased beds, toys, a big scratch post, litter food and all the wonderful things i could for my new family member. My kitten Princess died 7 days after collection of FIP. I expressed my concerns by email, i was ignored. I contacted JTHOMAS33 whom i expressed my concerns, the family asked for their deposit back for their second kitten on order and it was refused, they went ahead and bought the kitten that also died of FIP.

I have since purchased from a breeder in Scotland and all is well. I strongly suggest everyone stay clear, her kittens are very unwell, uncared for and her home is unhygienic.

I bought Belle a beautiful black and silver tabby from Fiona. She was dead 17 days later. Sadly FIP. I have contacted this breeder on 11 occasions to ask for my money back, she has ignored me and played on illness. As sad as your illness is, it is not my problem, what is my problem is that my children are in bits, my family torn apart and needless to say without money and a cat. I will contact this other breeder you claim is so terrible. She cant possibly put us through any worse.

A horrific experience. People must buy else where.

We bought two kittens from Fiona and had a similar experience. We felt pressured to buy them when they were still very young, we were unsure but when we got there but we fell in love with them and turned a blind eye to the chaos in the house and kittens everywhere but we had our children with us and had fallen for them by then. We took them home and they became very ill very quickly . We ended up at the vets daily, was very worrying and cost a fortune. They also had fleas. Luckilly they did survive but it was an awful time. And we cant get insurance now without it being so expensive due to them being so ill . I contacted Fiona, who had up till then been very friendly, she was very unfriendly now and suggested my children had pulled the tail of the kitten to result in illness ?! The whole thing was horrible.

I have recently purchased a snow spotted bsh from Fiona House. She did explain that all her cats had fleas but had been treated. The kitten I collected was 10 weeks old which I wasn't too concerned about as he was weaned and litter trained. He has ended up with ear mites which have cleared with drops. However after reading the above comments I am very concerned that my kitten may have the FIP virus. If Ambrose does turn out to be ill I will do everything in my power to report Ms House and get some sort of compensation although it could never replace Ambrose. Like others I overlooked the house as it was messy but the cats seemed healthy and it meant they'd be used to humans and dogs etc. How can she let people get so attached to a beautiful creature which she knows will die and charge £500. If my kitten is well then I will think myself extremely lucky and my heart goes out to those of you who have lost such a beautiful creature so cruelly.

I purchased a kitten from Fiona House. My beautiful boy passed away 11 days later. FIP was the reason. My children are absolutely devastated and my husband and i will never have a kitten again. Fionas home was messy and unclean to say the least and i would advise anyone looking for a kitten to try somewhere else. Awful experience.

Fiona House sold 2 kittens to my parents, both died within 3 weeks, our vet carried out a PM and found FIP to be the reason. We tried to contact Fiona who has since changed all her contact details and website address! I cant even express in words how sad we feel, its not about money for us, however I would hate to be a person who saved a life time for a special cat. I hope anyone reading this sees the sadness a nasty woman can cause. I assume the "Holly Smith" who wrote has upset those who know Fiona but the truth is I would rather buy a kitten from Holly with what she's being accused of than a kitten with a dead sentence!

I also bought a Shaded BSH kitten from Fiona inn Aug 2014, within 4 days he was completely disorientated and kept falling over and foaming at the mouth, I rushed him to the vets that said he had ear mites that had lead to an inner ear infection which caused vestibular syndrome, Bear spent most his kittenhood at the vet on tones of drugs to keep him alive, luckily by the sound of all your dreadful stories my kitten is still alive, yet he is permanent nerve damage, a tilted head and cannot balance properly which means he can not jump up or down from areas due to his constant vertigo and motion sickness, I actually gave Fiona the benefit of the doubt and when I contacted her she assured me this had never ever happened and all her kittens are absolutely fine, I put it down to a force of nature until I read all these complaints that truly sicken me. I picked Bear out of a large litter and it seems from what I am reading they have all passed away and Bear is lucky to be alive. My kitten has never been very well and have been told by the vet if he gets too uncomfortable he will need to be put down. I now see Fiona is selling up her cats, changed all her details and says she is in Poole now (originally Bournemouth).. If she has nothing to hide why do all that?
I prey karma kicks in Fiona, your disgraceful.

Hello Users, My name is Joel and I was wronged by Fiona like a lot of you sadly, I bought a Spotted kitten and again sadly she didn't make it. I have tried on many occasions contacting Fiona but with no luck. so instead of what I am going is submit my complaint and autopsy to Trading Standards and the RSPCA. I would love to gather as much of complaints from all of you wronged customers. So please email me, your full story and autopsy if you have it to my email address joelware154@gmail.com. It isn't the money which hurts me most, it is the fact that Fiona could get away with this and cause more damage to future owners

Just got a kitten yesterday from Fiona House, using Fran House as her contact name. Took him to vets today, he has worms, fleas & cat flu! Not only that when we picked him up his wiskers had been cut really short. It's a real shame for him, fingers crossed he will pull through. Please don't buy a kitten from that house it's not what the experience of getting a kitten should be. She's a disgrace !

Dead. FIP. Bred by Fiona House. Picture says it all. This is the end result a loved pet having to be pts as no hope as a young kitten. Let's them go before they are ready and stated to me that she knows when they are ready to leave as always land on their feet when dropped! Never heard of that one. If you want to save yourself extreme heartache stay away from this woman. With loads of vet bills we managed to keep this little mite comfortable for 5 months before we had to have pts.

Hello I bought a cat in 2013 from Fiona. If I could post a photo here I would be able to show you my cats medical history - coronvirus and calicvirus! The cat is still alive but costing me thousands as pet insurance won't cover him anymore. I also have the daily mess to clear up it's causing and I have a young family.
I wasn't going to buy the cat because the house was filthy but she said she had cancer and I thought I'd help by taking the cat from her

I know that we all have a special preference towards a particular breed or type of cat. I like rescue cats and all my cats are rescue cats. Three of my rescues were rescued from the streets of Cairo in Egypt. They were rescued by Safe Haven Egypt (SHE). They are fantastic and are very loyal and friendly. I cannot fault them. I grieve with you for the sad loss of babies that should not have been sold, or perhaps should not have even been bred if their parents are carrying the virus. Eardley Bryan

Hi, so my poor baby spotted girl Bo has today been diagnosed with FIP. I got her from Fiona House in July. Like others she told me she was suffering with dental issues and root canal issues. When we went to her house it was filthy, I couldn’t wait to get out. My son went back to the car as he was petrified of the woman. Since we got her home we found she has fleas, worms, ear mites and now FIP. The vet could also not locate a micro chip, so that was fraudulently advertised too. Having only recently lost our 15 yr old Burmese cat to a long term condition, my kids now have to watch Bo deteriorate. I’m so upset and angry that this woman seems to be allowed to continue, over all these years. Is there an RSPCA open case against her? Can anyone advise me where I report this?
