This is an app that when you purchase through the apple store, they take you to their personal website to complete a quiz. Once you complete the quiz, you sign up for a 3-month subscription.
Then you use the app. Through your apple account, you can view all of your subscriptions and cancel them at any time. I canceled the 3 month subscription and deleted the app and moved on.
Three months later I received a charge. I contacted them telling them I did not agree to the charge, had canceled the subscription, and had removed the app. They wrote back that unless I sent them an email it was not canceled through their policy, and since they took me offsite to fill out the survey, they are technically correct.
These are predatory practices and I am very diligent about my subscription services. After quite a few emailed back and forths they still refuse to refund the money. They very specifically take you offline from the apple store so that you cannot easily cancel. They give you a 10-page agreement that is predatory, explaining their practices which are not normal practices for apps purchased through the App Store.
Their predatory practices go further: they tout a "30-day money-back guarantee" at the point of sale, but in fact they claim all sales are final, which is in a policy elsewhere (and not stated at the point of sale.)
