In June of 2022 I called to get my Norcold refrigerator repaired. The tech came out and never even tested the unit. He opened the door and saw a hot spot on some contact parts and immediately said "This unit is toast and will have to be replaced" I was given a quote for $7000-$8000 for replacement. I was then charged an $85 service charge. I later went on line and downloaded a service manual for the unit; I did some test and replace a circuit board for $120 which took me about 10 minutes to replace. Unit works fine now. Freedom RV is listed by Norcold as a service dealer so they should be competent in repairing them. I contacted them to complain and at least get my money back but was told they were contacting the manufacturer because they were told by them they had made the right diagnosis and were waiting for a reply. I have still not heard back from them and am out $85 for a five minute service call where nothing was repaired
Desired outcome: refund my service call charge where nothing was done and the wrong diagnostic of the problem was made by a so called Factory Rep
