I have owned my GE Profile Artic SS Fridge for about 2 years...about a year ago ..one night I went to get my sons formula out of the fridge at 3am and got hit with a blast of heat! My fridge registered at 95 degrees! Butter was actually melted and dripping in my frige... I was floored...all those days of us feeling sick and not knowing the cause ..finally came to light! It turns out it was heating up over nite...and spoiling the food and then cooling down before morning! Well they attempted to fix it ..saying it was a sensor between the freezer and the fridge which we were charged for..Now for the last week the milk in the fridge has been spoiling ..I've gonne thru 2 gallons in the last week...and my son has been having really nasty diapers...I constanly worry about the fridge going up over nite enough to spoil stuff..and us not know it the next morning! I really really want this unit replaced...but they will not do it..I have lost soooo much food due to this problem... I'm better off storing the food outside with winter coming! I can't possibly be the only one with this problem! Its just not right that a company ..any company would not stand up for its product especially when children are involved!
We have the SAME problem. Our fridge is approx. 3 yrs old, it went VERY warm a couple of months ago and we were "told" to simply turn off power and reset it - we did and it worked. However this wkend, it must have gone WAY HOT, as all the butter was melted to liquid, all cheese melted together and some of the containers had their lids popped off - we THREW everything OUT.
I just put in a service request for GE to come out, they should be here tomorrow, I will let you know what they say, but this is RIDICULOUS !
