In 2014, Steve Sagherian, posing as an Enbridge Gas employee entered our house under the guise of 'checking' in of our furnace. Upon 'inspection' of our furnace, said that it was a recalled model and needed to be changed immediately. He also said our furnace was nearing its life expectancy (it wasn't). He stated that Enbridge Gas partners with Green Planet Home Services to provide rent-to-own equipment for 5 years. It sounded reasonable at the time but we were scammed as these were all lies. The contract was signed while it was deliberately set on a clipboard and clipped down so that we could not turn it over to see the fine print. It turned out to be a 10 year contract that Steve did not want us to see. In addition, they had deliberately overcharged for the contract for years.
Fast forward to 2019. We contact Adriana Tansek at Green Planet Home Services, atansek@greenplaneths.com
I sent a lengthy email. Then I followed up with a phone call (647-925-4149). Adriana promised to call me back but never did. In fact, she had been hiding in her office. The website is a free site with links that don't work. Basically, the business does not exist, just a front for collecting money from unsuspecting customers who keep paying and paying and paying.
So we asked Enbridge Gas to submit a dispute on our behalf, therefore only paying the energy part of our bill, not the equipment rentals. Next up:
1) Submit complaint to Ontario Consumer Protection against Green Planet Home Services.
2) File a complaint to the Better Business Bureau against Green Planet Home Services
3) File a complaint with Toronto Police Services, Fraud Division and press charges as needed against Green Planet Home Services
We had a door to door sales rep, Steve Sagherian, from Green Planet Home Services pose as an Enbridge Gas employee in early 2014 for the sole purpose of scamming into signing a furnace and water heater contract. He did so by saying that our furnace was a recalled model and could produce noxious substances if we did not replace. Furthermore, all furnaces were mandated by Ontario government to be high energy efficient and that our water heater had potential problems needing to be replaced. These were all lies and were designed to sound convincing.
Apparently other companies that were convicted for such malpractice like the Ontario Energy Group (now have reinvented themselves by registering under a new name) had a Training Manual given to all reps to have the lingo in order to sound more convincing. If anyone used to have such a manual working for Green Planet Home Services, or even another company, I would be interested in seeing it.
