Dear Prof. Ashraf Mansour,
It has been the university's motto "Education for Global Excellence" the hot glowing flame of hope for a better GUC. It has been the motto that made us Faculty of Applied Arts - Media Design 5th Semester Students to write down our complaint against German Professors and Tutors in Media Design department for the following reasons :
1. The absence super vision of the department's head Professor Daniel Fetzner on the course's syllabus and planing
2. The absence of planing and clear syllabus for every course
3.Not having qualified teaching staff
4.The absence of terminology with in the courses
5.Not having a certain Criteria for the assignments and projects
6.Tutors depending mostly on Junior Teaching Assistants (Undergraduate Students) in the teaching process
7.Posting important announcements on "Facebook", and neglecting the official sources "The GUC-mail"
8.Posting grades by Professors from other departments, as Digital Editing course which was tutored by Magdalena Kallenberger and the grades were posted by Professor Anne Krafting, head of theory department

In order to make it clear and support our complaint, here is a brief summary on what has been done through the last semester with each tutor separately in comparison to what has been posted the Media-Design WIKI (http://www.mediadesign-guc.com)

Magdalena Kallenberger :

2.Depending on her Junior TA in the teaching progress
3. Considering Facebook an official source for proper announcements
5.Assigning Students to grade them selves according the cretieria she distributed, inaddition to considering this as 25% of the course grade

Tutoring animation techniques and action scripting through Flash CS4

1.Caneling the whole syllabus for the course
2. Not archiving the course out come which is implement a Flash-Microsite, which contains video and animation. awareness of different interaction- and navigation principles.
3. Assigning his Junior Teaching Assistant, to teach the students the main basics for Flash CS4
4.Obliging Students to depend on learning them selves through "Online tutorials"

_______________________________________________________________________________
In closing, our main demand that every course should have a certain syllabus and calendar that is clearly announced clearly and properly to students
either on the GUC's intra-net or posted on the wiki, in addition to following that plan .
We hope that we find some one who listens to us, care for their sons and daughters around the campus

Sincerely,
Faculty of applied arts - winter08 students

Julien Schmid should not be in the list, he is by far the only (FASA) instructor who is keen on spreading his knowledge and the students are very letdown to hear about his resign. If Julien Schmid left the Guc it would fall downhill.
