My father-in-law who has a liver transplant and is 75 years old just got sick with a fever, sugar level of 245, was out of it and could not respond clearly to questions, he was also bleeding. we took him to the ER around where we live and all the hospitals said that there would be a 5 hour wait. We called several hospitals as we were desperately trying to find one that the wait would not be as long. all the hospitals around us told us the waiting time was about the same. Except for one hospital, the one I am complaining about that could not even have the decency to tell me the wait time over the phone. They said they are not allowed and told me to go online to check out the waiting times. My father-in-law was nearly dying at this time but I did what was asked and went online. It said 6 minute wait but all the other hospitals said 5 hours. So I called them back and I asked if they could at least tell me if the 6 minute wait was accurate since I had been driving around aimlessly and I had someone very sick. They simply said we are sorry but we can't tell you if it is accurate or not.
Desired outcome: For them to train their staff to be more human. It is dangerous when we are not told the wait times. It is a matter of life and death. This was the only hospital that did not tell me.
