On April 14, 2022 I had Home Works come to my home to reduce my utility costs. They installed a new thermostat and made holes to my heating system to test efficiency and stated that it was running at 80% efficiency and that it was an older furnace but was running good. By installing a new furnace it would improve my efficiency to 96%. They also made holes to AC vents then patched them up once tested.
My issue is that since this day my utility bills have almost doubled, my AC started running wild out of its normal I have water all over my basement around the furnace area and now my heating furnace is running wild and my humidifier is not working causing my health issues to get worse.
I have complained to Home works and the sent out someone that gave me a quote of $24 thousand to replace my heating furnace that was running great before they came out here. This sure seems like a plan to damage people's property and make them spend money they dont have. The comment on my report does not match what they told me on that day! see below
Early Furnace Replacement
During your Home Energy Assessment, we identified that your current furnace is functional, yet inefficient, and more than 12 years old. You may qualify for an enhanced rebate of up to $1,000 when you replace your existing furnace with a new model that meets certain efficiency requirements. You’ll not only save up to 30% on heating costs, you’ll save on the cost of new energy-efficient equipment, too.
Heating is the largest energy expense in the average U.S. home, accounting for about 45% of energy bills. With a new high-efficiency furnace, your energy
savings could add up to $400 a year!
I tried calling them 10 times today and they put me on hold then hang up!
Desired outcome: I want them to repair the damage they have caused at no expense to me.I want my old thermostat back, my humidifier, AC, and furnace back to its original working condition.
