Do not buy from this website, HotBOOKS.com, unless you want to be billed for unwanted charges. As a final step in the billing a small box comes up asking if you agree to their terms. I read the first few lines, it looked normal, and I checked OK. I didn't realize that at the end of the agreement was a 3 day trial which automatically charged me $19.95 for I membership I did not want. I complained and their response was I agreed to this. Do not fall for hidden charges.

Please look at the URL for the actual site for which you are being billed.

My site, http://hotbooks.com, does not charge and has not ever charged a membership fee.

The site about which I get unhappy (to put it politely) e-mails about a membership fee is http://www.hotbooksale.com -- not mine, and all I know about it is that I heard from a Department of Justice investigator in Florida because someone complained about my site and he wanted to verify that person was mistaken. The investigator had checked my site (http://hotbooks.com) and saw no evidence to suggest it was involved. After speaking with me, then checking further, he called me back and said clearly http://hotbooks.com was not involved with the problems involving that other site.

If you have a problem with http://www.hotbooksale.com, please spell its URL correctly. Here is the contact information from its home page: © HotBookSale, LLC. All rights reserved. HotBookSale is a trademark of HotBookSale, LLC. HotBookSale.com [protected] or SmartSavingsCenter.com [protected]

I am trying to put my business life back together after numerous e-mails from people thinking I have something to do with that other site. I have answered each one and will continue to do so, but the only help I can offer is to contact your own Department of Justice and work with those folks. They have an ability to help.

All I can do is pass along information and wish you well. And, of course, ask that you stop accusing me and my site of something we have not done.
