After ordering the Impact Gel insoles (2 pair) I realized that I was charged nearly $40.00 in shipping and handling! There is no opportunity to view the entire amount that your credit card will be charged until after your order is submitted, and then it is too late! It does state in the offer (it's buried) that you will be charged an additional $9.95 for your 'free' pair, but you have no opportunity to decline that offer even if you choose to - and there is no discount for multiple sets. I find it very hard to believe that it costs anywhere close to $40.00 to ship out a couple of sets of insoles.

So, buyer beware - don't be stupid like me - nothing is ever 'free'!

This is my last purchase of any Billy Mays advertised product.

I agree this isn't a good way to do business. I also think that the $9.95 S/H is out of line. Plus the 2-3 weeks delivery time unless you pay an additional $9.90. Look around there are other places to puy them online besides the company website.

I have been wanting to try Impact Gel insoles and did a web search to find them. It seems that there are two sites selling the products, the one by Footcare Express which lists the price at 24.95 (as of 4/20/2009) and the website getimpactgel.com which this complaint is about which lists them for 19.95, plus an extra pair at 9.95. I have been trying to figure out which one is the legit site and it seems to me that the more expensive price at Footcare express is the real deal.

I think getimpactgel.com is the official website for the impact gel insoles, where you get the 2nd pair for just S/H so you end up paying $40 for 2 pair plus some other items that I am not sure just what they are.

The other site is FootCare Express which sells them for $24.95 plus $9.95 shipping you can also get the insoles from them on their eBay site for $23.95 plus $9.95 shipping.

All these are getting some of their profit from the shipping. $4.95 would be more realistic for shipping on an item like this.

According to the details:

$20 first pair + $10 S+H
$10 second pair for S+H
=
$40

It says it right there, $40 and 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Unless your complaint, Patrick, is that S+H was $40, making a $60 total? Maybe you are not in the US and they charge more for that?

Looks like Patrick doesn't know how to read. They clearly say in the video and on the websites that you get the 2nd set Free, ONLY play for the shipping and handling.

Sound more like an ignorant shopper who doesn't pay attention to what they say.

I have worn these impact gel insoles for awhile now and I got them at footcare express which happens to be a real podiatrist in Aventura Florida.

I was shocked to see them on such a carnival reality show like Pitchmen but I guess the company thought it would be great for Branding and it was. Now everybody is talking about them.

The cost is a huge issue and it seems that Pitchmen had to strong arm the company into lowering the price. At the time Foot Care express was the only distributor the product in bulk and they were if they sold at $19.99 they would actually lose money.

I noticed on the website that they were able to lower the price to $24.99 and I can't speak to shipping. But I will say this. If you are worried about ordering the product, I would order it from Footcare express because they are real Podiatrists, have a real office with someone who can answer questions, and they have professional athletes as patients.

I live in Orlando now so I visit their site instead of their office and call the doctor if I have questions about my orthotics. They custom make orthotics and I use them in my running shoes. They are going to put the impact gel material into my next set but current ones will hold up for another year or more.

So they are real people and not Billy Mays or these other knuckleheads from tv. Just call them and ask questions. I feel bad for them because they can't be making a penny on these insoles. They have them because they are good for general use and some patients need only some good shock absorbing insoles to reduce pain.

Can you imagine a doctor who just got back from visiting all the major league baseball teams during spring training arriving back to the office to find this backlash over Pitchmen and $10?

But that's actually what I like about their doctors, they treat me just like an NBA player and charge me like a YMCA player so I'm trusting them on this.

I only paid $99 for them to make custom orthotics molded to my foot. Even though they are not made with the impact gel material they brought my ankle, heal and arch into alignment and I have no pain at all.

I think this is what I bought two years ago http://footcarexpress.com/foot-orthotics/custom-foot-orthotics/express-custom-orthotics/

Anyway, I understand that people are confused about the price and availability of this product but I don't think it deserves a complaint issued. It seems that Pitchmen strong armed the company into selling for only $19.99 and undercut their retailers and everyone saw the show.

Now, they can't make them fast enough and have to handle all the complaints about cost.

I would say it is a big problem for footcarexpress and Impact gel but probably a good kind of problem.

and here is a link to foot care's impact gel insoles so you can know you are ordering from an actual doctor's office not some tv ad.

Do you work at footcarexpress? it seems like it. It would be extremely rare to find someone who would so nicely write a 50 paragraph review including the website and all of the info of footcarexpress.

I also visited this site and I can tell you I was prepared to pay the $40 for the two pairs ($19.99 + $9.99 S&H + $9.99 for second pair). My problem was I was never shown the total of the purchase and after I had clicked to go to what I thought was the final order page, I got a confirmation page which said my credit card was billed $59.96!

When I sent them a nasty email, they responded quickly and said they would take the second set of insoles off my order. THEN, they showed me the final order and it was $39.98! $20.00 for shipping and handling?!

PLUS, they said they didn't have any in stock and I would have to WAIT to get my order!

I sent them and email and said, NEVER MIND CANCEL MY ORDER or I will report you to my credit card company. And they did.

But now I don't have the insoles and I really wanted to try them

P.S. Say what you want about the Pitchmen, they sold the product. That was their job. They said they wouldn't sell at more than $19.99 and it looks like they were right.

Would I have been willing to buy them for more than $19.99? Yes. More than $24.99? Yes. S&H more than $10? Not likely.

I like the Pitchmen because I think it's an interesting show. You get to see that these products are real and the inventors are real people. NOT hucksters. Have I ever bought any product from them before? NOPE! But when Oxyclean showed up in the grocery store years ago, I tried it. I don't like it but my wife uses it.

I was not happy with the web site order over the internet. I was unable to view my order before confirming order as most sites have. I discovered I had a $119.00 order and only wanted the insoles. I immediatly called the customer service number to try to change the order, they told me they could not do that but to call the following day, maybe if the order had not been processed I could stop it or change it. Called following day, had been processed. Both customer service reps told me to REFUSE THE ORDER, not to open it and I would get a full refund, including the shipping. I returned the items, unopened, within 10 days my credit card had been credited the entire amount, including the S&H charges. If I had opened the package, took out what I intended to order, returned the rest, I would have had to pay the S&H, the customer service rep told me that comes out to 40%. Both customer service reps were very helpful and very good to deal with. I was rather disappointed with the web site its self, that I had no opportunity to confirm the order before it was submitted and had no idea what my order was going to cost.

You all are doing better than I am. I ordered mine on 4/20 and as of this date I have not recieved them yet. I called about a month or so ago and was told they were backordered. The customer service rep said that I would get upgraded to next day delivery. I need to double check but I don't think my credit card was charged yet.

I in good faith could not recommend this company to anyone else.

Dear Mike, Instead of insulting Patrick, may you should have taken the time to READ his complaint. He ordered 2(two) sets and received 2 sets free

According to the details;

$20.00 for first pair + $10 S&H
$20.00 for second pair + $10 S&H
$10 S&H first free pair
$10 S&H second free pair
=$40.00 for product and $40 FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING

Don't be so rude, I'm sure you're better than that

the 9.99 is a flat fee to make things simple for the company to ship. they obviously make money for the most part on this end especially shipping to their zone and surrounding. almost all companies do this its just makes accounting easy. next time there is a home show in your city go for a visit and buy on site its usually less expensive except for the 20 dollar way too over done corndog, flat semi-cold beer and the walking but the significant other can't complain you don't take her anywhere.

Why is everyone so upset? Wasn 't the deal 19.95 a pair? Looks like you got 4 pair for 80 bucks. Hmmmm. Seems like 20 a pair to me! Oh I know, it's that you are being forced to buy two pair? You want 1 pair for $30, that would be a better deal right?

Iam like so confused, reading all of these comments. i was going to buy one for my mom and one for me but ill stick to stuffing the shoes with socks for comfort support! If I gotta pay 40 to get a good deal ill do it, but out of all the comments I heard, I didnt get to read a real person who actually tried the product and loved it? so is it worth it? is the 40 bucks worth the soles? do they make people feel like they are walking on air>>>? if so Ill buy em@@@@

Look! The product is obviously worth more than $20, why do you idiots complain about the shipping and handling fees. So what they got you for more... Ask yourself this, if you bought a pair and it helped greatly in relieving pain in your feet was it worth it? Otherwise stop [censored]in and moanin about [censored] that doesent matter. You must care more about losing $20 than your precious feet that will soon become ugly and ridiculously sore cause you [censor]ed and moaned about the shipping and handling fees. Get a freakin life and just enjoy the F*ckin product!

OK folks, here is my two cents. I have had 12 knee surguries over the past 29 years. I bought these insoles after seeing them on Pitchmen. I have zero cartlidge in my right knee so I need to limit the amount of impact created by walking or running. I have spent hundreds of dollars at doctors offices getting expensive custom orthodics.

Do these insoles work? YES they do. Do they work ay better than a good pair of Dr. Scholl's you can buy at Target? NO

I can tell little difference between the two. I actually prefer my gel pair from Dr. Scholl's better for my sneakers and dress shoes that I wear everyday. I think that I paid $17.99 for the Dr. Scholl's from Target. And with Target, they have them in stock and you dont have to wait or pay for S & H charges.

However, I prefer the Impact Gels in my snowboard boots. For whatever reason, they seem to fit better in my boot for comfort.

I hope this info helps.

The ad states it's $19.99 (basically $20) + $9.99 s/h (simplified to $10) & you get a 2nd set free by paying seperate shipping (also $9.99 (simplified to $10)) - For those complaining they were charged more, you may want to take this into consideration... do you live in a state where your order is required to have tax added? If so, it may add up to more than the quoted $40.00.

Always read all available info prior to placing/confirming an order ANYWHERE online. It is not this sites fault if you misunderstand the amount you expected to be charged unless it is somehow misrepresented.

Hi tpaulrossi I see you perfer Dr. Scholl's. I have been using Dr. Scholl's for a long time but they tend to wear out I was wondering if you or anyone else knows if impact gel insoles wear out or are they better in the long run like a year later?

I had back surgery in 1975 and have had problems since with pain caused by walking on concrete for anything other than a few minutes of time. The Impact Gel insoles are the first to actually prevent this type of pain! I now have 4 pairs of shoes with them installed and have ordered the same for my wife.

The only problem I've had is that they have sent the wrong size both times I've ordered, which really burns my butt! Now my poor wife is going to have to wait another couple of weeks to get the right size for her.

The bottom line is that the gel works. The crap that you buy at the local pharmacy or Wal Mart is just cheap stuff to part you from your money. Impact Gel really works and is worth the price (and the hassle).

I used getimpactgel.com in october to buy some insoles for my husband who is on his feet all day. like several other of you i missed all the fine print and was shocked at how much i was going to pay for the mandatory 2 pairs.

this wasn't even the most shocking part: i never received the insoles, nor was i ever charged. i am completely confident that i completed the sale. shortly after i made my "purchase" on this website a charge was made on my credit card for an apple laptop for more than $2200.

it doesn't look like a single person on this board who has placed an order with this site has ever actually received their insoles. i'm not saying these people are responsible for my incidence of identity theft, but i would N EVER EVER USE getimpactgel.com just to be safe!

I decided to post for two reasons 1. I know the owner and he has been letting me use this product for 6 years 2. I believe the complaints made towards customer service unwarranted, Its a Call Center NOT THERE ACTUAL receptionist. If you want to speak with her she is a very understanding and informed person there number is [protected] Her name is Rikka she can help you with any credit card problem. The call center does not know how to uncharge a person.

I have been using there product for almost 6 years. Yes they have been producing these insoles for that long. I work as a sandblaster in a factory walking on concrete and 6 in of sand for 10 hrs a day. I have used Dr. Scholls and every other product at wal-mart unfortunately none of them worked The problem with Dr. Scholls (spelling) is there Gel is more liquid than solid feels like I am walking on a waterbed. As for the rest of them at Wal-Mart well I might as well double up on socks to make a difference in my boots.

Do I recommend Impact Gel yes I do, Is there price a little more expensive than most yes it is but for a few extra dollars its totally worth it.

Everyone is complaining about the price, but I havent read anything about how it feels? I would pay $40 dollars for my sons feet to stop hurting. So my question is for those who did get them...DO THEY WORK?
