To whom it may concern
I bought a car (a Nissan micra 1.4Elegance 2005) at Derick Roodt Motors Klerksdorp, on 16 January 2013 . I received the car on the 18th of January 2013 with a faulty power steering, air-con that is not in working condition, flickering airbag light, and the maintenance display. After a week of driving the car, I returned it for repair on the rear wheel bearings, and all the above. When I received the car, only the wheel bearings were fixed, but the rev counter was now faulty and did not work. The car's fuel consumption was more than usual, and non of the previous mentioned problems were resolved.
After another two weeks of driving the car, the car returned for repairs on high fuel efficiency, and for the original problems it was sent in for before. The car was in for repairs for a week, and returned and still nothing of the original repairs were done. I drove the car for another 2-3 weeks, because they were waiting for spares for the car.
I returned the car for repairs again, and only the air-conditioning was fixed. But when the air-con is switched on, there is a strange sound (like metal banging together). With the repairs, the car was also serviced (it was due soon), but the computer box was not reset.
I talked to the salesperson, a couple of times, about the power steering and the last time we asked if we could return the car and cancel the sale, but he said it's not possible and cannot give a deposit back. We then asked if he can get another car from another InspectaCar dealer, but he then said it's too cheap a car, they will be at a loss if they do that. In the same week, I made contact with Derick Roodt himself and discussed the situation with him and he said he would look into the problem and phone me back, but there has not been any contact made by him to this day. On the 2nd of April, I contacted the salesperson to ask when the car can be returned for repairs, and haven't received and answer from him yet.
From the 18th of January, there has been 3 claims on CCI for repairs on the car, which was the original problems that I bought it with (power steering, computer display panel inside car, air-con, air-bag light). They put the claims in on my name, to pay for the repairs on the car which was their responsibility to fix.
I would like to know what to do, I am not at all satisfied with the client service. When I am interested in another car, they sold it without letting me know before-hand. I know they are supposed to repair, replace or refund us, but they are not willing to do any one of those.
I would just like to know is it only Klerksdorp that gives poor service, or is it the whole InspectaCar group?
