Never any issues. Like Christmas once a month! Great to try out new items and I love being able to pick out a few of the items.
Critical Review of Ipsy, BirchBox, and Sephora Subscription Boxes
So, I'm a dad and I signed up my 14-year-old daughter for Ipsy, BirchBox, and Sephora. As someone who works in branding and marketing, I tend to be a bit more critical than most, so take this review with a grain of salt.
First off, I'm not a fan of Ipsy's approach to membership. It feels like they're trying to create an exclusive club, which is a terrible marketing strategy when their competitors (BirchBox and Sephora) let you in directly. It comes across as if they're too busy to handle everyone, which would be fine if they didn't have a workaround. If my daughter shares their brand on Facebook, she can get in faster. So, let me get this straight, if I promote your brand for free, you'll cut me some slack and advance me, yet I still may or may not get in? It leaves me questioning if Ipsy really wants my daughter's business over the long haul or not. This approach may work on teen girls, but I'm insulted because it says, "Promote us for free, and we'll put you on our consideration list."
Now, to be fair, the products themselves aren't bad. However, the packaging is drastically different from Sephora Play or BirchBox. Ipsy's products come in a bubble wrap envelope, while the others come in a box. If you don't know the difference, you'll be fine, but if you compare them, you'll see that Ipsy's packaging screams, "We're too cheap to give you the quality package our competitors give you." Again, not bad, just a matter of brand perception (something I deal with every day in my business).
I cancelled my subscription, and I wanted my daughter to make her own monthly subscription decision without my persuasion or personal business thoughts. In the end, she chose Sephora based on the product sizes, quality, packaging, and the fact that there are local Sephora stores.
Overall, I hope this review is helpful. Personally, I would love to see Ipsy grow and become a better brand. They might even need to fire their current marketing team and get a new strategy so that they can build lifelong, loyal customers. Their business model needs a lot of work. Don't believe me? Compare the numbers of all three companies and see who's doing it right.
My Honest Review of Ipsy: Don't Believe the Haters!
I gotta say, I'm seeing some reviews on here that are just plain wrong about ipsy. I heard from some of my buds that they were getting some cool stuff in their bags, so I decided to give it a shot. When I signed up, I got put on a waitlist, but they made it clear that I wouldn't be charged until I was off the list and getting my first bag. I could either share on social media or just wait it out, and I chose to wait. After about 2 months, I got an email saying I was off the list and my first bag was on its way.
I've been subscribed for 6 months now, and I haven't had any issues. Sure, there have been a few items here and there that I wasn't into, but they make great gifts or trades with my peeps. The value of the full-size items you get is really good, and I've tried a few other beauty subscriptions but this one is still my fave. I change up my survey after every bag to make sure I'm getting stuff I'm into, and I review every product I get. They seem to be pretty spot-on with my preferences, and I think people who complain about not getting what they want probably didn't fill out their survey right.
You can't just pick one category and expect to get everything you want, though. If they don't have any products in your first choice, they'll give you something from your second or third. I always pick a few options so I have a better chance of getting something I'm into.
I definitely recommend giving ipsy a try, and don't listen to the haters on here. I don't get why people are complaining about sharing on social media - it's not required, and if you don't want to do it you just have to wait a little longer. You can always delete the post after, so what's the big deal? I waited and it was worth it.
ipsy Review: Slow Shipping, Poor Customer Service, and Disappointing Products
So, you're thinking about signing up for ipsy? Well, let me tell you, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. First off, you'll be put on a waitlist and forced to spam your friends and family to get off of it. And that's after you've already given them your credit card information. And good luck trying to get any help from customer service - there's no phone number and emails are automated and don't address your specific issue. The only people who seem to respond are two women on their Facebook page, who I suspect are employees. And forget about tweeting at them - they'll just ignore you.
But let's talk about the actual product. ipsy is supposed to be a fun way to explore new makeup, but in my experience, it's been a disappointment. Shipping is slow and unpredictable - they do it in three batches starting mid-month, so you might not even get your bag for that month until the next month has already started. And even then, the shipping estimates and actual shipping dates change constantly. My September bag still hasn't arrived, even though it no longer shows up in my purchase history.
And what about the contents of the bag? Well, you do get to "peek" at what's inside before it arrives, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be excited about it. My bag, which still hasn't arrived, supposedly has mascara in it - and not just any mascara, but one with terrible feedback. Who needs more mascara, anyway? The other items are a mini highlighter, a cheap shadow brush, gel eye masks, and a sample of facial scrub. None of the makeup items are full-sized, either.
If you do decide to cancel your subscription, be prepared for a bit of a hassle. ipsy erases all tracking information from your history, so make sure to screenshot everything before you unsubscribe. And when you do try to cancel, they'll ask you why - but you're only allowed to choose two options. And watch out for the "cancel" button - it's big and pink, but the actual unsubscribe option is in small, light-colored font below it. I think they do this on purpose to try to keep you subscribed. And even after you've successfully unsubscribed, make sure to save the confirmation email you'll receive - just in case.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend ipsy. The waitlist, slow shipping, and lack of customer service make it more trouble than it's worth. And even if you do get your bag, there's no guarantee you'll be happy with what's inside. Save your money and buy full-sized products you actually want instead.
Discover New Beauty Products with Ipsy: A Review
I gotta say, Ipsy is one of the best things that has happened to me in terms of makeup and beauty. Every month, I get a cute little bag filled with 5 different makeup items that are just perfect for me. And the best part? It only costs me $10 a month! I mean, let's be real, makeup can be super expensive, so getting a bunch of samples for such a low price is a steal.
The brands that Ipsy puts in their bags are top-notch, just like the ones you would find at Sephora. And the samples are usually about 1/3rd of the size of the actual bottle or packaging, which is perfect for me because I get to try out new products without committing to a full-sized product that might not work for me. Plus, Ipsy makes sure to know my skin tone and what brands I enjoy through a survey when I first subscribed, so I always get products that will most likely work for me.
I've been receiving Ipsy for about a year now, and I have to say, I've discovered so many new products that I absolutely love. Ipsy is a great way for you to discover new products that you love and that work well for you. And the best part is that it's only $10 a month! I mean, come on, that's a steal!
However, there are a few downsides to Ipsy. Sometimes the bags come late, which can be a bummer. My bag has come late a few times, and so have my friends' bags. But honestly, it's not that big of a deal. The bag usually comes about a week or two late, and it's not the end of the world.
The biggest downside to Ipsy is that there have been many problems with cancelling. I've heard a lot of people complain about their poor customer service, and some people have even been unable to cancel or continue to get billed after they have cancelled. So, if you're only looking to get Ipsy for a short amount of time, I would recommend looking into something else because you might have trouble cancelling.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Ipsy to anyone who loves makeup and enjoys trying out different products. It's a great way to discover new products that you love, and it's only $10 a month! Just be aware of the downsides, and you'll be good to go.
Disappointing Experience with IPSY: Late Delivery, Wrong Products, and Unprofessional Customer Service
I decided to give IPSY a try because I wanted to add some new makeup products to my collection. I was thrilled to find their website and signed up right away. However, I was disappointed when they asked me to share my friends' list on Facebook, or else I would be put on a waitlist. I don't even use Facebook, and I'm a busy professional who doesn't have time to spam my friends with ads. I just wanted to pay my monthly fee and receive my makeup products. I asked to not be charged and sent an email to cancel my subscription. Instead of canceling my subscription, they sent me a short apology note and fast-forwarded my subscription to the exclusive list. That was not what I wanted.
I received my October IPSY bag almost a month later, just two days before Halloween. I was charged for makeup that I couldn't even use. I had put on my profile that I am a pale redhead, but they sent me taupe lipstick. I don't understand why they would send me grey flesh-toned lipstick when I have pale skin. It was frustrating.
Despite this, I decided to give IPSY another chance and waited for my November bag. I was excited to receive it, but when I checked my mailbox, there was nothing there. I logged onto IPSY and updated my address to the place I would be moving to next week. I also made sure my skin profile was marked for winter. I sent an email to customer service to let them know that I didn't receive my package.
Their response was not what I expected. They accused me of forgetting to change my address and said that if there was anything left over at the end of the month, I would get an assortment of that instead of my order delivered to my new address. They tried to sound hip and cool, but it just came across as rude and unprofessional.
I decided to cancel my subscription for good this time. Maybe it went through, or maybe I'll receive another bag. Either way, I'm done with IPSY.
Ipsy Review: Travel Size Samples Don't Match Profile & Poor Customer Service
I've been using Ipsy for a while now and while I haven't had many issues, there are a few things that bother me. For one, the travel size samples they send don't always match my beauty profile. I don't understand why they even ask for it if they're not going to use it to tailor the bags to our preferences. Sometimes I'll get something that doesn't match my skin tone at all, which is frustrating.
I also feel like these monthly beauty boxes, like Ipsy and Boxycharm, are just money hungry and don't really care about their customers. It's sad to say, but it's true. I was really looking forward to my November bag from Ipsy, but the estimated delivery time was longer than usual. I thought it might be because of the hurricane, but their facility wasn't even close to it.
After it left their facility, it went to the Kentucky postal service and sat there for about 5 days for no apparent reason. Finally, it made its way to Melrose, Illinois and has been sitting there for another 5 days. The estimated delivery time was supposed to be from the 17th to the 19th, but it's now the 22nd and it still hasn't left the postal service.
I reached out to Ipsy for help, but they weren't very helpful. They said they couldn't do anything about it and they don't offer refunds. They did offer to send me another bag after 45 days, but that's a long time to wait. And even then, there's no guarantee that the bag will make it to my house the second time around.
I also emailed the postal service, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. In my first email to Ipsy, they asked if I wanted a new tracking number so I could track it myself. I said yes and also requested to cancel my subscription. But they haven't replied to that email yet. I sent them another email requesting to cancel my subscription because I don't want them to take any more money out of my card.
It's frustrating that you have to email them to cancel your subscription and they take so long to get back to you. By the time they do, they've already taken money out of your card. I would advise against wasting your money on these monthly beauty bags. Spend a little extra money on beauty products that you know you'll like and use. Your $10 can go towards something better, trust me.
ipsy.com Review: Poor Customer Service, Limited Products, and Shipping Issues
This company, ipsy.com, is not worth your time or money. I have been dealing with issues with my June bag for four months now and am still trying to resolve an issue with my July bag. The customer service is slow to respond and just sends templated responses. They only offer useless points that can only be used if you continue your membership. Even then, the bonus products sell out immediately. They refuse to solve the actual issues and no one takes ownership to help you. Your case is passed from one rep to another, even after requesting to speak to a manager. It's like running on a hamster wheel going nowhere email after email. The company doesn't seem to care about their customers or retaining business. They are quick to charge you for your bag but don't ship in a timely fashion, if at all. They can ship at any time during the month, so they will charge you on the 1st and not ship your bag till the 30th.
The products are getting smaller and smaller, and the brands have become extremely limited and repetitive over the last year or so. Clearly, they want to push people to their more expensive subscriptions. The warehouse has also gotten sloppy lately. My last three bags have had at least one wrong or missing item. My products used to come neatly packed in the zipped bag; however, lately, they are loose in the mailer like they were just thrown in. Some items are even open as if they have been used prior to shipping, which is very concerning for makeup/skincare! The bags have also become completely redundant. They used to be unique, different sizes, shapes, types, material, etc., but now it's basically the same bag every month, just a different color or pattern.
Based on what I've read on social media, it looks like my issues and concerns are common occurrences. There are a lot of companies offering this type of service. I would highly suggest doing your research before giving this company your money. I would highly discourage a yearly membership as you are then locked in with no recourse.
Disappointed with ipsy: Beauty profile ignored, wrong products received, and biased reviews
I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with ipsy. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea and all, but it just doesn't seem to work the way they say it does. My fam and I all signed up for ipsy at one point or another, and not one of us has ever gotten a bag that actually matches our beauty profile. Like, I said I don't want eyeliner or foundation, but what do I get in every single bag? You guessed it - eyeliner and foundation. And forget about getting the colors I actually want. I always ask for neutral shades, but what do I get? Bright red lipstick and rainbow eyeliner. Like, seriously, what's the point of even taking the quiz if they're not gonna listen to it?
And don't even get me started on the reviews. I've written to customer support so many times asking for specific items, but do I ever get them? Nope. And there's this one website that supposedly reviews subscription boxes, but they always delete my negative comments about ipsy. It's like they have some kind of deal with ipsy to only post positive reviews or something. It's just not cool, man.
I feel like ipsy is just a waste of time and money. They're not even honoring their own quiz, so what's the point? And it's not fair to the brands they're promoting if they're sending samples to people who aren't even interested. I wouldn't recommend ipsy to anyone, to be honest.
IPSY's Glitchy System and Disappointing Customer Service: A Review
This company, IPSY, has really let me down. I was charged for a glam bag plus in August, even though I did not authorize it or reactivate my old account. To make matters worse, my old address was still on file, so I was worried that the product would go to someone else. I reached out to customer service, and while they did offer me a refund, it was frustrating to deal with the glitch in their system.
Now, in September, I was charged again, but the app is saying that I won't receive a box this month. What did they charge me for then? It's frustrating to feel like I'm being scammed by a company that I used to trust. I want to speak to someone in charge to make sure that this doesn't happen again.
To make matters worse, their offer to fix the issue was only 600 points added to my account. While it's better than nothing, it's not enough to make up for the fact that they charged me twice without my authorization.
Overall, I'm disappointed in IPSY and their customer service. While they did offer me a refund, it's frustrating to feel like I can't trust them to not charge me again in the future. I hope that they can fix their system and regain my trust, but for now, I'm hesitant to continue using their service.
Ipsy Review: Frustrating Experience with Unmatched Products and Poor Customer Service
Hey there, I'm here to share my thoughts on Ipsy, a company that I used to love but has recently let me down, along with many of my friends. I've been a subscriber for about 8 months now and while there are some positives, there are also some major negatives.
On the positive side, I do appreciate the opportunity to try new products. However, on the negative side, I often receive products that aren't a good match for me. For those who aren't familiar with Ipsy, they "match" you with 5 beauty items per month based on a profile you create by answering questions and filling out your beauty preferences. You select the types of items you want to receive and the colors you prefer. However, the problem is that they don't always listen to your preferences. I've received items that I specifically said I didn't want, and my friends have experienced the same thing. It's frustrating because if you're paying for a service, you expect them to listen to your preferences.
Another issue is that they claim to base your matches off of your reviews, but I've left reviews stating that I don't like certain products and yet I still receive them. For example, I've said multiple times that I don't like eye pencils, but I've received them anyway. It's disappointing because it feels like they're not even looking at my preferences or reviews.
One time, I was excited to receive a lip gloss in a shade that I thought I would like, but instead, I received a hot pink shade that I would never wear. It's frustrating because I've been a subscriber for 8 months and have reviewed every item, so it's not like they don't have enough information about my preferences.
To make matters worse, when I reached out to customer service for a simple solution (to switch an eye pencil for a liquid eyeliner), they told me no. It's frustrating because it feels like they don't care about their customers or their preferences.
As a warning, a friend of mine who I referred to Ipsy recently discovered that the "hold" option for subscriptions is only for one month (which is buried in the fine print). She was billed for a month she didn't want and received items she specifically said she didn't want. She's now cancelling her subscription.
Overall, if you're expecting Ipsy to listen to your preferences and take them into consideration for your matches, you might be disappointed. While there are some positives to the service, the negatives outweigh them for me and I'll be cancelling my subscription after redeeming my points for a free item. It's a shame because I used to love this company and even referred friends to it, but now I can't recommend it.

the phone number for customer service is incorrect, and I received damaged product in my ipsy bag
Ipsy is owned by Personalized Beauty Discovery, Inc in San Mateo.
The phone number they list for Ispy Customer Service has a recording that says this number is no longer in service.
Ipsy also does not list an email for customer service, so you cannot contact them regarding shipment errors, refunds, or account cancellation.
Not sure why they are making it so difficult to reach them? They need to provide correct contact information.
did not order or pay for these products - but they keep coming...
I never ordered any products from ipsy but I've received 2 bags anyway. I got a full bag of products last month and today I received another bag. I've checked my credit card statements to make sure there was no charge -- and there isn't one. I've never ordered, so can you please remove me from your list? Thank you. ipsy
Hi,
i cancelled monthly subscription for ipsy last month but they still charged me $27 . However, monthly subscription for ipsy glam bag is $10. There is not a valid phone no or email that i can contact. I called a no i found on web but it says its not a valid no. Extremely disappointed with ipsy and will ask everyone i know to unsubscribe. There has to be some ways to contact the company . Havenot dealt with such useless buisness ever.
double charges
I looked on my credit card statement and saw that Ipsy charged me twice on 08/01/18 and twice on 10/01/18 and never received there products. I don't even want their services, I just want my money refunded back to me. I reached out to their only means of communication which is there customer service support email address on 10/03/18 and have only received one email shortly after that asking for the first 6 digits of my credit card. Since then I've emailed them back several times and have heard nothing from them. We're approaching November 1st and I'm afraid of not only NOT receiving my refund but of also being double charged yet again.
beauty
No one will cash the check I received back for the purchases that I made. Not even the check cashing places because they only except checks that are 10 to 12 days old. I have called Etsy.com to no avail and I have contacted their primary company which is personalized beauty Discovery, Inc. I have these checks and I have made purchases; yet, I cannot cash the checks anywhere. No one will return phone calls, the bank will not contact the company, and no one returned emails. This company should be investigated for fraud.
unauthorized charges
After subbing to Ipsy for YEARS, I paused for a coupke of months due to moving and did not want to miss any bags in the mail during the move. The month I paused was June (for the July bag) and July (for the August bag). On August 6th I got a charge for $30 on my card (the subscription is $10 monthly). I emailed Ipsycare multiple times and they claim they cannot find the charge on their end. I sent them a copy of the charge, part of my card number, my Paypal(? Not sure why that was involved) info... Still nothing. THEN I tell them to cancel my sub altogether because I have no time for this nonsense again. It is still showing as active but paused. This is RIDICULOUS!
I cancelled my membership and I was just charged for August! How do you cancel these creeps?!?
glam bag
I was supposed to receive my flame bag for may on the 19th it is now the 24th of may and nothing. I have written to the Ipsy care email 3 times with no responses back. I either want my money back or I want my bag! This is only my third month dealing with them and the first problem. There is no number to be found to call only the email and you don't get anywhere with the emails.
terrible
I used to often recommend this website to my female friends, I considered it comfortable and interesting. The products were always nice and easy to use, good quality and condition.
However, 3 boxes in a row contained a terrible stuff and I started to think that I had to unsubscribe. It's all because of quality.
Yesterday I received the last box from them ( I no longer need them) and some items were terrible, small and hard to use, plus their condition left much to be desired. It's not what I want to pay for. Excuse me, but all of these terrible items are good only to be thrown away.
ipsy password
So I was charged for an Ipsy bag but never got it and I'm pissed because Ipsy won't let me change my password I put ever current password I could think of and it still won't let me change it I'm highly upset rn and I signed up a month ago this place is going to get a bad review from me if I don't get my Ipsy bag and I've been waiting for too damn long

ipsy
I'm going to report this to the police if this doesn't [censor] change. I cancelled my subscription over three months ago and im still getting charged the $10 every single month. This is my 3rd complaint and I swear it happens i'm taking this to the police. Cancel my damn charges now. This is completely ridiculous and the fact that ipsy doesn't have a customer service number is completely insane. Worst company ever and I will never reccomend it to anybody. Fix this now before I get the law involved.
I still have not received a reply from anyone that works with Ipsy. I have been getting charged $10 every month for three months now when I cancelled my subscription over three months ago. I will take this to the police if it happens again considering I cannot get in touch with anyone because this stupid company doesn't have a phone number which is insane. Either reply and take care of the situation or I will have no choice but to involve the police.
not receiving bags this month
I have 2 subscriptions. Havent recieve either one, the money was taken out of my account.i want to cancel and either get my bags for this month or get my money back.this is the second time that i dont get my bags i have had ipsy for about two years if not longer .i have a bag for diana berumen and one for claudia berumen. I have not received my package...
I paid for my ipsy bag on time, no issues with the billing but for some reason I have no received my package. I began to track it on fedex and the package was supposed to be here on the 14th. It is now the 21st and I still have not recieved my package. I checked back on the fedex tracking and it says my package is “pending”. Therefore it went from the 14th of October to now pending. I’m not sure what is going on.
I received a package and the contents were spilled.
Hello. I just received my Ipsy bag. Two of the products had spilled and destroyed the other contents of the bag. The bag itself is also damaged. The powder is ruined due to the serum spilling everywhere. The Marc Anthony Hydrating Cocont oil and Shea Butter serum is what spilled the most. There is nothing left in the bottle. The Hey Honey concealer also spilt, damaging the inside of the bag. The spills caused the rest of the items to be covered in product and compromised. The bag is also covered in serum. Everything is unusable.
ipsy
I have been a customer for over 1 year, and suddenly I started checking my bank statements and realized that I have been charged double for ipsy for the past three months . Which includes August, September, October. I don’t understand why because I only have one subscription and only receive one glam bag. At first I thought it was maybe a mistake on the bank, I called my bank and they explained to me that I have to contact ipsy first because they are the one that are charging me incorrectly .
ipsy bag
I tracked my ipsy bag to see where it was, it said it was delivered but I never got it... it's not in my mailbox, I checked my whole house, asked my parents, my little brother, even went to the neighbors to see if it got put in the wrong mailbox.. it's no where to be found. My mom received hers, and I checked her package and it had her name on it. I'm not sure if maybe there was an accident and it just says it's delivered and it's really not maybe? But I don't know. I just really want my bag because I do a review on my instagram and I'm just really excited to do the review but I cannot because I don't have my bag. Thank you!
monthly subscription
My product came in damaged. The oil that came with this months kit got into everything, the oil is completely out of its container. The mascara and mask are fine but the eyeliner seems to have fallen off and has no tip.
The oil stain on the paper underneath is a little clearer.
I understand these things happen.
I just need a replacement.
How can I recieve a replacement?
Where can I end the damaged products?
Thank you! 😊

I am canceling my subscription because my ma delivery person opens my pouch before she puts it in my box and she has also opened several of my products. Therefore, As of today I am canceling my orders for the future. Also, in this order I received a brown mascara that I cannot use because I only use black. I want a return message acknowledging my cancellation.

SCAM! I open one email to resubscribe and k was interested so I clicked the link just to lean more and because I clicked the link Im resubscribed automatically without any consent! Then when I go to cancel this they make it impossible to even fine the cancellation and then you are sent to an email. SUCH A SCAM OF A COMPANY! I will be going to my credit card company to reverse this and end the subscription. Its too bad because Ipsy used to be great. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM! Disgusting!
Unfortunately this company is very unprofessional and refuses to provide a refund for items not received
They make it impossible to cancel. Just got notification after I cancelled a while ago that a bag has been shipped. Tried to cancel that and they say its too late. So now Im charged again and somehow resubscribed!
I am absolutely disgusted with this company. i had agreed to one glam bag at a cost of $17. and then cancelled any further purchases. They have taken money from my account 3 more times at a total of $75. The US exchange on $17. is $25. I had purchased the one time with extra funds i had received for my birthday. I am on disability which is far below the poverty line. I have asked them several times to repay it as i believe this is theft. They have yet to return it and i am now receiving nsf fees i cant afford. These fees are form payments i had prearranged for bills to come out of my account. The domino effect this has caused is financially draining on me. it has been over a month and i still have not received a dime.
