Jordnan Furniture review: Leather sofa

6 years ago we bought a leather chesterfield sofa at Jordans, about $1700. When it arrived I soon noticed that the color of one of the 2 cushions was somewhat light in color than the rest. Not knowing anything about leather, I unfortunately failed to notice that it wasn’t only color but a significant quality difference. The cushion has continued to become lighter in color, has become rough instead of smooth and is developing holes. It is much weaker than the rest of the sofa, and is clearly defective.

I reached out to Jordan’s twice and their response was 1) it’s too late to complain, 2) that leather is no longer available, 3) the average life expectancy of furniture is 5 years and we are beyond that, and offered us a $150 discount on future purchases. They would not take any responsibility, and gave the contact information for a leather repair company who said the leather needed to be replaced at a cost of $800.

We shopped at Jordans, as I have many times in the past (fabric sofas bought thirty years ago are still going strong) and expect good, trustworthy quality and service from this company.

Jordans sold us a defective product and basically don’t care.
