I received a call regarding the operation of my computer and they said that they were from microsoft or something along those lines. Their english is terrible, broken, and very difficult to understand . Making it easier to slip one by you I guess. Yet they convinced me that they were ligit stating they had my microsoft registration number. Which they then recited to me once they walked me through the process of finding it. Since not being an IT professional, I fell for it. They offered a service pack to speed up and protect my pc. Which then, of course did nothing besides removing $ 365.00 from my bank account. ###s. They then, before I knew anything was wrong, called back asking me to get to my computer and open up some type of document so I could receive a refund for that first purchase. Three different times they called and I had no access to do so. So I then tried calling them back at one of their 4-5 phone numbers I had. Not one worked. All invalid numbers. Big Surprise. I can only imagine that if I had fallen for the repeat phone call, I would've been out even more money. ...###s. It's not so much the money, but the fact that you cant trust anyone anymore. Or so it seems. As long as you guys sleep well at night knowing that you lie, cheat and steal from people. That's awesome. Way to go .I hope your mother is real proud of you .

I am writing from South Africa and I had the same phone call. I was bullied into letting them connect to my computer as they said they were part of Microsoft. They then managed to get me to give them my credit card info and they scammed R2750 for a "Life Time" licence, even though I had challenged them that my Windows was valid. While talking to them I googled the company and found that this whole thing was a scam. I then turned my PC off and again challenged the operator about the scam. He then put the phone down. I phoned Microsoft and they also told me that this whole thing was a scam as they do not use 3rd party vendors. How is it that, so called, international software companies, have the right to phone people to scam them out of money. Also how do they get hold of contact details? Are their products not good enough to be sold to make their money, and do they also claim their ill gotten gains as profit at the end of the year. Under what do they claim it. LEANED another BIG lesson today, DO NOT TRUST ANYBODY ON THE PHONE!

I was contacted the other day, by someone from India saying they were ringing from Microsoft as they had been alerted that my computer was being hacked and that if I just pressed the windows key and another one etc. they would be able to see what was the problem. They informed me that I was in a serious situation as it appeared I had already had numerous hackers trying to infiltrate my computer. They led me through another set of instructions and explained that my Windows Microsoft License needed renewing. They said for £200 I could get a lifetime license. When I laughed and informed them I was a pensioner and didn't have that kind of money, they said well I could lose everything off my computer even though I had a firewall. The man (supposedly called Francis) said that for £60 I could be licensed for 12 months. I again told him I did not have that money and he said he would contact me back after Christmas and that nothing would be taken out of my bank account, until I contacted them, but that I needed to give them my details, so that it could be taken out later. He gave me the Job. No. and said to speak to Windows Customer Care and also gave me a supposed Microsoft Windows License No... he told me again that nothing would be taken out of my bank account.. Stupid me believed him to be who he said he was, as he seemed to know so much about my computer. My computer was then taken over remotely by this man, who continued to work on it, as I thought, making it safe. After he had finished, I had that much rubbish on my screen and things had been altered, I started to have this awful feeling that I had done the wrong thing. A few days later my son came round and I told him about the call. He was NOT HAPPY at all and told me to contact my bank instantly as it was a con. I contacted the bank and 2 payments had been taken out of my bank both for £97-96p. I felt sick, angry and humiliated that I had been so stupid as to actually trust someone. One week before Christmas and being a pensioner, what they stole was a lot of money to me and I did not sleep at all that night. The firm who took the payments was called KAVISH TECHNOSOFT... I repeat that name again KAVISH TECHNOSOFT, as a warning to anyone else out there in the UK, who believes some Indian person pertaining to be from Windows. I hope they get what they deserve and that my money brings them nothing but bad luck. Again BEWARE of KAVISH TECHNOSOFT!
