Ive been sending in gold scrap for over 20 yrs. Ihave a very good idea what it is worth and have an estimate made before I send it. I decided to try landis refining over two months ago. I still have no coins or check,. Ive called them 5 times in 2 months, just a runaround, I just got the estimate, less than half its true value. It is literally unethical. I have so much to say but just know my words are inadequate to describe this escapade, dont do it! Id recommend garfield, pmp, doral... Anyone but landis!

I do not have all the facts yet. Waiting to speak to Steve Landis, the owner of the company next week. I feel that I was grossly underpaid for the amount of gold that I sent to Landis.
I recently had a similar experience with Landis Refining Co. In Hampton Bay, NY. On Monday, January 9, 2017 I shipped a container with 6.2oz of 18k scrap requesting it be replaced with proofs, and a check for the difference. Their processing time is said to be two weeks.
We have no idea who these people are 60 years in business and these few complaints are not justified. landis refining
we have tried to find out who these complainants are but cannot, They might be competitors for all we know, For 60 years we have served the dental industry with perfect ratings from LEGITIMATE sites.
we provide free estimates so that there will be an open process.
People often confuse silver palladium with gold, which are far apart in value. All that glitters may not be gold.
It is a shame that an anonymous individual can damage the reputation of an honorable firm with the touch of a mousepad.
Steven Landis, President LRC,
our attempts to contact these anonymous complainants was unsuccessful.
it's a shame that a few uninformed, disgruntled people have the power to put in question
the integrity of a firm with 60 years of honorable service.

I'm dissatisfied with my experience with Landis refining. I sent in approximately 5 ounces of gold crowns. When we made gold crowns in dental school, the amount of gold content was at least 90%. My report from Landis shows they were able to get 0.61% gold from the crowns that I sent. I realize they have expenses for postage, marketing, refining and other business overhead. but what I received after years of saving these crowns was paltry.
