We signed up with the Law Offices of Alfred J. Verdi so they can help us get a Loan Modification. We signed a contract with them that says, if they are not able to get us a Loan Modification in 6 months, they will give us a refund of 2/3 of the $2995 fee we paid them in the beginning of the Loan Modification program.

When the 6 month period was over, we communicated with Alfred Verdi many times through phone calls and emails to give us our refund.

Now it has been over 7 months and we still have not received our refund.

The fact is that the Law Offices of Alfred J. Verdi was not able to get us a Loan Modification with any of our lenders within the 6 month period, so they should follow the contract and send us our refund.

Verdi Law Group, Inc. is also the name of this company run by Alfred J. Verdi.

When I signed up with this company I had a very strong feeling not to sign up and give money up front. I thought it was a scam. I signed up anyway because there was a money back guarantee. And of course, we needed badly a loan modification. I eventually learned to trust the company and worked with them. I hoped and waited for a loan modification 6 months. They were not able to help us get a loan modification with our lenders. I asked him to give us a refund and refused to do it. I should've gone with my first instincts. I regret hiring this company. I should've tried using a non-profit organization to help me with my loan modification.

Never again will I hire this company or any company like this.

Hi Homeower12,

I have a loan modification going on with the Verdi Law Group now. It has been 5 months for me, I am having the same issues with them. They are a scam, I have been lied to by Al Verdi himself. I was told they had submitted my second mortgage before the first and that is why it was taking so long. That was a bold faced lie, I contacted the 2nd mortgage and they had never heard from the law firm. They do not return phone calls, I am told they are busy (taking other peoples money and doing nothing). I am writing this so no other person trusts this firm. I will submit a formal complaint to help stop them from doing this to anyone else.

What Alfred Verdi law group does is just a scam, they will use terms in their contract to let you believe there is a refund, when in reality those terms are just to protect themselves against a legal action. For instance “refund in case of lack of participation of lender", means as long as the lender participates in a loan modification program, even though the cooperation might be zero, do not expect a refund. Do not pay any money to this firm for any case including loan modification, as the other comment says; use a none-profit organization instead.

I agree Alfred J Verdi, promised every one a refund if an effort of a Loan Modification was unsuccessful, and if it was and client ask for refund he said that he worked in your modification for several months and he earned the money you paid, he had a group of young and immature girls that were playing in the office all day and not taking clients calls, Then if a modification failed He will have a Guy i don't remember his name try to convinced people to file for Bankruptcy, and charge $3, 500, I knew from somebody who worked there that He was broke and did not even had money to pay for stamps to send letters to creditors from people who filed BK with his firm.
