poor quality
Purchased a recliner for just under 1000.00. There is very little padding on this expensive chair. You can feel the wood hit you in the arm the back cushion collapses when you sit in it, the seat cushion compressed so much that it kept sliding under the back. The back of the chair wobbles as though it is going to fall off. When we pointed this out to the repair person they said they were all like that. They replaced the seat cushion but that is all they did. I went to this company and paid alot of money because I thought we were buying quality. What you see on the showroom floor is not what you get. This chair was purchased so my 80 year old aunt would have a comfortable chair when she visits for 3 months each year. Now I am shopping for a 2 or 3 hundred dollar chair to replace it and I'll just buy a new one every few years.
leather
I purchased an almost $3, 000 leather reclining sofa and chair & 1/2 from La Z Boy exactly a year ago. After 6 months there was noticeable wear and chaffing of the leather on the seat cushions. They came out and replaced the seats, then shortly after the seat started showing wear and chaffing on the chair (that was used less). They replaced that. Now it's about 6 months in, and it is starting to wear and chaff again. Bottom line: La Z Boy leather is no better and shows wear like I have had the pieces for 10 years or more within 6 months. I started complaining again recently because I have seen the Tech in my house; first to check the furniture then back out again to reinstall new seats: 4 times in the last year (more than I see some of my close relatives)! Buy a cheaper set than I did, may last longer than mine did from a company I would have thought had a high quality leather-was I wrong!
poor quality custom order furniture
7/30/2008 7:29:43 AM - I ordered a custom sectional sofa and when it was delivered the couch was slanted/sloped, the chaise and the couch were different shades and the couch had a slight tear on the back. Lazyboy sent a technician/investigator on July 11th, took the information and pictures, but I haven't heard anything since then. I called on July 28 and the person I talked to said the system was down and she would call me back with a status. I haven't heard back from anyone yet. Although I read the negative reviews about Lazyboy online, I hoped to resolve this issue without resorting to contacting the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Advocacy Agencies.
delivered broken
Approximately 4 weeks ago I purchased 2 lazy boy recliners from Conn's in the White Settlement area of Fort Worth, TX 76108.
The chairs were delivered at the promised time. That was the end of "customer service". One of the chairs was broken (wood frame under the chair is split). I have made repeated calls to the store but have gotten nowhere. A furniture repair place (Kelley's) did come out about 2 weeks later and said that the chair could not be fixed. I later received parts from a furniture company? with no explanation.
My husband and I are 94 and 84 years of age. I called and complained for 2 weeks to the local Conn's store, speaking with Van Woods (store manager). I was told that he could do nothing about replacing the broken chair and that cooperate headquarters were the only people that could authorize an exchange. He was very nice and understanding but took no action to replace the chair to my satisfaction.
I then contacted my daughter, Donna Beaver, who lives 2 hours north of Fort Worth to do something about this situation as I was not getting anywhere with any satisfaction. As of today, July 29, 2008 nothing has been done. My daughter has called the store 2-3 times a week and has spoken with Van Woods (store manager) Billy (assistant manager) Ron, Chris, Cody Beason and Charles Doty (salesmen). They have all listened to the saga but no one seems interested in taking the ball and doing something about it. Cannot someone he the hero and make this customer happy?
What should my next move be? Each time my daughter calls and speaks with one of the above men, if they are available and not on the phone, they say they will call and speak with me (I live 2 blocks from the store). No one from Conn's has yet to return any calls to my home# or to my daughter's home#. For example, my daughter called this evening and spoke with Ron (salesman) at the store - Van Woods (store manager) was on the phone and he said that he would return the call. No call for over a hour. she called back and he had left for the day!

Bought two Leather Recliners that rock and turn around last winter. We have had to have the repair man for one of the chairs twice. They have replaced the parts under the chair and it just gets louder and louder. I can no longer use it. I am very upset about this. I need something done about this.
I found this note during my trials with Conn's. I'm afraid that it's probably too late to help the Griffins, but I had a similar experience with Van Woods at Conn's that I was finally able to resolve. Perhaps my experience will help the next reader.
We bought a lower priced Whirlpool clothes washer at the Conn's on Hulen Street, and were immediately dissatisfied. It was way too loud and although the timer dial had a "delicate" setting (that to us implied a 2-speed motor), if you set it to delicate, it would just run at full speed, pause, and then run at full speed again. That isn't delicate! Initially we tried to make-do by closing the utility room door and doing delicates by hand, but after having the washer for less than a week and a half it broke down due to a manufacturer's defect in the timer.
We bought the washer at a local brick-and-mortar store for service after the sale and because Conn's has a 30-day return policy. (After all, you can't "try out" a washer in a store). We contacted the then-store manager to return the washer or exchange it for a different model and were told that she could not process a return because the washer was broken! She said that we had to go through the service department for a return. The service department told us that they could not handle a return, only a repair. We weren't interested in keeping the washer since we were dissatisfied with it before it ever broke, so we again contacted the store. The managers had since changed to Van Woods and asst. manager Billy Brink, and they said the same thing- no returning the washer (even though we were still within the 30-day return period) because it was broken!
After multiple attempts to contact Conn's corporate customer service by phone (no help there), speaking to Conn's DFW service manager Greg Leblanc (no help there), trying to contact Conn's district manager Clay Roberts (wouldn't even return phone calls, so no help there), we finally got a response to an email sent to Conn's customer service. Never mind that the response to the email came after THREE MONTHS!
It turns out that Conn's is apparently being investigated by the Texas Attorney General's Office for their handling of extended warranties, and in response to that investigation and other issues they have recently created a "Customer Help Group" that dug up our old thus-far-ignored email and contacted us. The Customer Help Group really seems to want to help, and is actually EMPOWERED to help. They not only resolved my problem to my satisfaction (took the washer back, refunded ALL of my payments including delivery fees, waived the re-stocking fee, etc.) but they also arranged to have district manager Clay Roberts and store manager Van Woods call me to apologize for their lack of help.
I would encourage anyone with a customer service issue to speak with the store manager and try to resolve the problem. But failing that, try calling Conn's customer service department at [protected] and ask for help. If the customer service agent can't or won't help (or just transfers you around aimlessly or cuts you off), ask for the Customer Help Group. If you have a legitimate concern and are willing to be persistent, I'll bet that you'll eventually get the help you'll need from them.
Hope this helps.
don't buy
Don't buy La-z-boy recliners the fabric will not hold up. I bought a recliner 16 months ago and the fabric already is wearing through. Warranty is only 12 months and La-z-boy refuses to do anything after warranty expires. Call store referred me to customer service. Will not help you after warranty time had expired. No discount, no nothing. I truly recommend that anybody looking for recliners or furniture don't buy from La-Z-Boy it is not worth the money and customer service is worthless. Stay way from La-Z-Boy furniture IT WILL NOT LAST.

delivery charges
I purchased a recliner from our local store in North Aurora and was told the delivery charge would be $59.99. After a discussion with my husband he said he would pick it up. I called and was told I would have to go to the Bolingbrook store which is not real close to our home to pick it up or pay a $35 charge to pick it up at our local store. Who delivers the chairs to the local store? Why should customer have to pay to pick up locally? What a rip. This is my last purchase from LazBoy.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Our "pick up at the store" fee was $40 ( $80 for delivery to our home.) . Even thought I really liked the recliner and consider buying two, my husband could not believe that they had the nerve to charge a fee for him to pick it up at their store! Needless to say, he asked for the order form that already had it written up on and told them to keep the chairs and that he would never buy anything from them, ever. We then walked out in total agreement that it was a scam and we would never return to a Lazboy store.
I certainly agree that retailers are deceptive in their pricing when they add on delivery charges on products they display in the store. At a minimum, additional delivery charge policies should be conspicuously posted to warn the customer.
We tried to purchase furniture at Rooms-To-Go and were told nothing about the delivery charge until it was added to the bill-of-sale. When it was questioned, we were told that it is from the warehouse 60 miles away.
Guess what? No sale-they wasted their time and mine writing up the sale and trying to pull one over on us. We have never gone back to a Rooms-To-Go for anything.
We have a Savon Furniture in our area that we found does the same thing. Again, we turned our backs on the salesman and bought elsewhere.
When you run across these businesses, you need to show them your back and not your wallet.
terrible experience
We purchased a sectional sofa from this store on 9/4/06 and it was delivered on 11/13/06. We were told all of the area's that touched the body were made of leather. In about Feb. of 2008 I noticed that the arm of the recliner at the front was cracking. I called the salesman Ron Socher and told him the problem, he put me in contact with the Stainsafe...

I special ordered a sofa and loveseat from Lazeboy last August, 2007. I finally received everything I ordered in November, 2007.
When the order arrived I was stunned to see that the napped fabric I special ordered was put on the furniture in different directions, making the sofa and loveseat have a light and dark effect. It's VERY noticeable. Some cushions are very dark, and others are shaded very light. The upholsterer must have either NOT cared about how he did the job, or he was NOT familiar with covering furniture with napped fabric.
In addition to all this, the seams are coming apart, there are flaws running thru the fabric, and there are a couple of holes on the inside portion of the loveseat.
I wish I had checked the internet before buying the furniture. We took the owner to small claims court, but miraculously she won! So, BUYER BEWARE!
Lazeboy does NOT produce the quality products it once did, and they do NOT care about fixing problems that come up. I am now stuck with $3200.00 of furniture that I haven't even sat on yet, and get sick to my stomach every time I look at it. I feel totally ripped off, and hope that someone will read this and not make the same mistake I did.
Do NOT purchase from the Stockton, CA store. In fact, I would recommend NOT purchasing ANY Lazeyboy product, as they do NOT care about the quality of their workmanship. They also do NOT give out a warranty card UNTIL your furniture is delivered. So, if you must purchase this brand, make sure you READ every line of your contract, and ask to see the warranty BEFORE the purchase.

cheap fabric and mechanisms
I always owned lazyboy furniture and loved it, but not no more, I bought a sofa and recliner that they talked up to good quality, what a farce. I purchased it march 07 and now it is march 08 and I have had them out 7 times to repair both of them, the mechanisms keep breaking the fabric pilled and they told me to go and buy a shaver to fix that problem and the cushion fell apart and had to be replaced then the colors didnt match (that cant guarantee that) the wood frame broke twice finally they replaced the seat back the fabric also didnt match they decided to replace the mechanism because it kept breaking. the repair guy told me that lazyboy changed there mechansims there cheap and flimzy and there always repairing them. well now it is a year old and lazyboy who said they would work with me when the warranty was up since it broke so much lied they just strung me along and then to bad your warrantys up! I have tried to get a new sofa or an extened warranty they woulded budge.
DONT BUY LAZYBOY FURNITURE PERIOD!
IF YOU DO DONT BUY RECLINING MECHANISMS THEY SUCK IT COSTS 75 DOLLARS TO HAVE THEM COME OUT AND REPAIR AFTER THE WARRANTY IS UP
MY CHAIR BROKE AGAIN 2 DAYS AFTER THE WARRANTY AND I AM SCREWED
IT IS A SHAME THAT COMPANYS BUY CHEAP PARTS AND MAKE US PAY SO MUCH FOR THEM
Spent almost $6000.00 for couch and love sear. 5 days later, cat, whose nails are cut, is pulling and ripping it very easily. I had 2 sets of cloth furniture with said cat, and still do, "cheap" stuff, and the cat couldn't scratch it. Apparently very cheap fabric used. At least if it was cheap furniture, I wouldn't care but this is the "good" stuff. I am 71 and should have done more research first and now feel like a fool. Of course it's the cats fault, not the fabric .I didn't think this furniture would be a problem because it was with any of my other cloth furniture. Furniture store does not care, buyer beware. People, don't be fooled by name brand stuff.
Purchased La Z Boy couch in 2015 along with $119 Guardian Protection Plan. After 2 years, “performance” fabric on couch cushions has worn so thin from sitting on it there are holes starting to develop.
Contacted Guardian twice, apparently customer service is not a priority. Was told this was normal wear and tear and they would not cover it. Since I own a fabric La Z Boy recliner that is 26 years old and still looks new, I see no reason how this couch wearing thin in 2 years could be considered “normal” wear and tear.
Contacted La Z Boy, again, twice, starting to see a trend in (lack of) customer service here. I was told the warranty on the fabric for my couch is 1 year. Their solution is to let me order new cushion covers for $150 each, discounted from $250 each. We’re talking covers here, not entire cushions.
Two covers at $500 is 2/3 the price of the ENTIRE couch. With the discount being $300, that’s still 40% the price of the couch. In no way does that math work in relation to the amount of:
fabric on the remaining couch
cost of filling, springs, and frame of the couch
the cost of labor to replace these covers vs. the amount of labor required to actually MAKE THE COUCH.
Where I feel I already paid for this repair with the $119 “protection plan” that turned out to be no more useful than a hamster cage liner, I am now being told I need to pay an ADDITIONAL 40% the cost of my ENTIRE couch to replace 2 cushion covers.
From the La Z Boy Website:
Durable fabrics with proven performance.
Performance Fabrics, by definition, have superior stain and fade resistance, long lasting durability, and are easily cleanable.
B9802 Imperial, C1256 Bacall, C9323 Shona, C9484 Hush Puppy, D1426:
These products are all made using 100% Micro-Denier Polyester yarns which are inherently stain resistant and very easy to clean. Micro-Denier Polyester yarns are made for today’s active lifestyle offering soft luxurious feel with incredible durability!
This is CLEARLY false advertising. If they stand behind the durability of their so-called performance fabric, why isn’t the warranty better than any other fabric? This is very telling that La Z Boy is misleading their customers when they won’t even stand behind their own product.
They are additionally misleading their customers into buying a protection plan that is of little or no value. If this is in fact, ‘normal’ wear and tear, then their advertising and warranty are false and misleading. If this is not ‘normal’ wear and tear, then the protection plan they coerce you into buying is a total sham, and at best is shady regardless.
Customers are being duped into buying an inferior product under false pretenses. This year alone on a consumer watchdog sight I noted approximately 57 consumer complaints regarding similar problems. This does not include the multitude of unrelated complaints. I had full confidence buying this couch based on the quality of the chair that was purchased 26 years ago that is far superior to what this couch ever thought of being. This couch is in no way even close to the same quality. Their “proven performance” is no longer substantiated with proof, and I am stuck with an eyesore which is in fact proof of their inferior product.
I just received my new Lazy Boy recliner a few days ago. I purchased it in December from Boscov's and ordered it in a burgundy color. It is the GABE style. I've not had it long enough to have too many complaints except the chair has a smell, probably from the fabric or dye. I'm hoping the smell will go away but am concerned about where the fabric and/or dye was gotten from. If from China, as most products are from, perhaps it has some dangerous chemical in it that ought not be breathed. Barbara 2 February 2019
No kidding my back is killing me as I read all these ... spent 3200 on 2 recliner rockers custom leather ... I hate them ... our feet touched the ground in the store but boy not at home sitting up is a joke our feet my heals are more than 12inches off the floor and that's in sitting up position...if I recline it goes back so far it's actually tipped over my head hitting floor and I can't get out of chairs ... I'm sick from this purchase... we bought from a 20 year experience of same type of lazy boy owned recliner... loved it ... I'm so discouraged ... We added some wood to the base at back to make the chair pitch more forward but hast helped much ... we had service out the first week he said not much you can do ... yes mYbe add wood to back some ppl do... what a joke ! I think third more mad about what the man told me than they are customers... next appt in 2 weeks it's been 9 months since we lSt complained about our custom made chores for retirement... 😱
We just had a $4, 000 Lazy Boy sectional sofa delivered Saturday and I'm not just unhappy with it I HATE IT! It looks CHEAP and frame wobbles and feels cheap. We based our purchase on the Lazy Boy name - but never again. The 30 yr old NORWALK sofa we got rid of was in better condition than the new one. The 30 year old fabric looks better than the new one. I wish I had the old one back! The fabric is NOT the color of the sample in the store. I am SICK over this purchase and there's nothing we can do. I wish to God we'd bought another Norwalk. This is our first and LAST Lazy Boy purchase!
Would never---ever---never buy another piece of Lazy Boy Furniture...Customer Service - is Awful. Store - after they get your money---is Awful... Cannot reach anyone above Cust Service ...
They take your money and run...False advertisement-Misrepresent Fabric Care Treatment... Going to Attorney General of Illinois...
I have told the local furniture store that I was a large man. I needed a lazy boy recliner that held 350lbs. Twice I was sold chairs that lasted about 3 years. They are only rated at 250lbs. They are not made like they use to be. My local furniture store Hill Home Furnishings Beatrice NE lied to me both times. They also have no clue at what to do. I took the last one apart and found screws missing in the back. No glue in the cleats that held the back together. I have been a carpenter for over 35 years. What a joke, they use plywood that I would have thrown away. Missing screws, no glue. They make them so you have to buy a new one every couple of years. Hill Home Furnishings and Lazy Boy you can both go to hell. I will rebuild this piece of ### until it breaks again. But Hills Home Furnishing will never get my business again. Period. Lazy Boy is ### also. They lie through their teeth.
Like many of the comments above, we've been Lazy Boy owners for over 40 years. We have a recliner we've re-upholstered twice. We recently purchased a reclining sofa and relining love seat. when we purchased the furniture it had and acrid offensive odor, probably as an insecticide or fungicide. The company refused to address the problem. Recently, the sofa has a back rest that sags toward the back and tilts from one side to the other. To have the local furniture store repair it would cost $70 to merely take it back to the store plus the cost of labor and parts. They don't repair on-site.
The furniture probably was made in a foreign country is is the cheapest I've ever purchased. The quality of furniture made at Ashley or purchased from Sam's Club is now of better quality.
I agree with everything that has been said. I ordered the Gibson and Melanie rocker recliners on [protected]. I finally received them on october 20, 2011. I paid over $2, 000.00 for theses recliners. We had them a few days. Both chairs when reclined out lean back so far it almost throws us over our heads. Also, the chairs are so uncomfortable that my husbands hips hurt. My buttocks ache so bad it is painful to walk or go upstairs. I wen to the Dr. to check for arthiritus. Luckily, my tests came back negative. The pain is coming from my lazyboy recliner. After two weeks I called the dealer to come out and adjust the chairs. He said he could not but said there are adjustment screws under the chair. This did not help. I went back to the deal yesterday [protected], I wanted to trade these in. He told me he has this exact chair at home and he loves it. Just because I love it does not me I will and this is nothing that can be controlled. He then walked off and refused to help me. The padding on the arms have collapsed on my husbands chair.
Please do not waste your money on anything with the lazyboy name on it.
I agree whole heartedly with everyone. The fabric came out of the sofa and love seat like it was shedding. The stitching came apart at the seat on three of the five seats. The company said that DuPont was responsible for the fabric and Lazy-boy was responsible for the stitching. I don't know why I had to deal with these companies myself to begin with, I think RC Willey should have honored the warranty I bought. Instead they voided my warranty because I owned a guinea pig that lived in a cage on top of my son's dresser. It has been nine years now and I am tired of covering the seats with blankets. It looks great except for the seats and the spots where the fabric came out. I am now trying to disassemble the seats to take it to the dump. It still makes me so mad to think about it.
I purchased two lazy-boy recliner sofas in march 2010 and from day one i hated them they were uncomfortable and just got worse, they were not like the ones's at the store. when i went back to the store I was told that I could not trade them in that the owner will call me. a month later a service manager called me and sent out someone to take pictures of the couches. i had him sit on one couch and recline and then sit on the other and he said "man you can really feel the difference, the wood is hitting you in the back." in the few months that i have had the couches the backs of the recliners have lost their padding and if you recline you get wood in you spine. if you sit anywhere but in the center of the cusion you are sitting on the frame of the couch, you can feel the wood between the recliner ends and the middle seat. you can lean on the side of the couch (when you are laying on couch) and the recliner ends seperate from the middle.
The manager had some other guy call me and tell me that he called the manufacturer and they have never heard of all these problems that i am having with mine. now reading all the different websites and reading that people are having the same problems as far back as 4-6 years, i know that i am going to have a fight on my hands to get the problem solved. the manager wants to put on new seat backs and "check out all the other claims" before he decides to let me exchange my furniture. once he gets done with that if the problem happens again the he will replace the furniture.
warranty deception
Complaint: La-z-boy Inc. Regarding power recliners - Purchased 8-5-2008-Warranty deception.
This recliner has been repaired so many times I cannot count.
1. Day recliner delivered it had to have the left side replaced, and I complained that recliner going back there was a clunk. I was told it needed a period of adjustment. I later found that the bracket on the right side was not on the track, I also said the chair was not level and tilting to the right side. I was told it was the way I was sitting. Later repair man found a bracket had been installed 1 inch higher that the other side.
2. They then replaced a bent bolt and bracket.
3. Another time they decided to replace the lower steel frame when done the chair was not square with the frame. The repair man just shook his head. It was not the repairman fault just a poorly built recliner. He said the recliners often needed to be squared up.
4. It has been brought with parts falling out of it, on two occasions.
5. The last four times they sat the chair down and had to take it right back to their shop.
There was a crack with pieces flying out, I was told due to the chair out of square and that was why the motor and bracket needed to be replaced another 2 week wait for parts. Two weeks later wrong motor and bracket. Another 2 weeks wait for another motor and bracket.
Then the leg lift stopped working. It went part way up and stopped.
Now La-z-boy says I modified recliner. This heavy recliner sits on 4 bolts with enlarged heads. It was making deep marks in the carpeting. So I unscrewed bolts put 3/4 x 10 under rails, drilled holes in wood same location as where bolts go back into steel rails re-screwed in bolts. Now La-z-boy says modified chair-- is essence GO TO HELL. Based on their warranty if you safety pin a cloth on headrest you have modified warranty nullifying Warranty. So go Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, Frigidaire, various lending institutes (screw customer-Then?) I Believe so goes La-z-boy. Now store has my money and I was told they sold the defective (constantly repaired) chair they sold me. Looks like small claims court-if I can find an intelligent Judge.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
sagging and squeeking couch
We bought what we thought was a sofa & chair that would last us for at least 10 years.WRONG:::::
Our furniture was bought in 2005 and one end of the couch is sagging in the back and seat, also there is a clunking sound when you sit on it. We went to the store and complained about it. We told the girl there that we bought it because we were told that it would last us for a long time. There is only myself and my husband in the house, it's not like we have children jumping on it .My husband weighs about 160 lbs. and he is usually the only sitting on the couch, so weight is not a problem. We did manage to get a service man to come and look at it and he told us that he could put more stuffing in the couch however it would probably happen again , and there was nothing he could to make it last. This is rediculous. We bought furniture that we thought was reptible and would last us, as we are both retired and cannot afford to buy new furniture every couple of years. The store said that they would have their serviceman come a re stuff the couch with some better stuffing. nobody has came yet or even called. As far as I am concerned, Lazy Bor furniture is not any better than your cheap stuff that you can buy at WallMart.
never again
I got my chair from the lazyboy store at 161000 southwest freeway in Sugarland on July 22,2005.I had a different material put on and the chair was delivered on Sept.16,2005. The motor went out in Oct.2007 they sent someone out to check said they would order a new it would take about 3 months. They called in november and said it was in, came out what had been ordered was the hand control. This the 25th of January I have called and was told they were busy and someone would get back to me in 48 hrs.as of today no one has returned my calls. I want to know why does it take so long to get a part and why is there no one to return calls. Customer service is [protected] the contact person is Michelle. If I had known it would take this long to get a repair done I would never have bought it from Lazyboy. I had planned to buy a sofa but not now are ever again.

Agreed.. I had to re order part on my chase and wedge and they have been taking more than 2 months and giving promise every time i call and outcome still nothing happened from them. They are just like their name " LAZY LAZY" Poor customer service

Purchased a reclining chair on October 3, 2007. Shortly thereafter noticed that a tack or nail was about to punch hole through arm rest. Called the store in November with no success. Emailed corporate office with no success. Left message for store manager with no success. Spoke to their customer service who promised follow-up with no success. Called the...

Myself, wife and 3 kids are from ontario canada and traveled 1. 5 hours drive to this store which we researched online. Upon arrival we where met by several high pressure sales people but the one stuck with us thru our trip in the store. She showed us several pieces of furniture with allot of impatience for us to make a decision on one of the sets she had shown us. My gut feeling was to walk out but i had the wife and kids and i stuck it out. When i asked for a bottom line price on a couple of different sets she would walk away and come back with a price. At times it was higher than the price advertised and sometimes lower. I asked why, and she said that it was because it is a group set. Other times she would give me a price and come back later and it was 60 and 80 dollars cheaper than the first time?Go figure, this should have been a red flag, price would vary and drop the longer we where in the store! She was desperate for a sale and really started to put pressure on my wife, and i knew she want to sell so i went after a really nice lazyboy set, to which she had priced up and down from the original price advertised. At one point she was high, and i gave her some grief, she would walked away and came back with a lower one. This went on for 20 minutes. She also informed me that we live on the other side of their delivery area in canada, by about 35 min. drive time and that they would not drive to our home and we would meet them in the nearest big city of london. Fine i said i will arrange a truck and meet them there, for a cost of 80 dollars. I informed her that if they delivered to my home i would purchase a 1200 dollar electric fireplace. She said that if she could arrange this she would call but as of now the delivery was to london only. Finally it was a done deal and she needed a manager for something and off i went to pay. I had to go to another person to pay. When i went to pay she had me down for 2 loveseats and a chair i wanted a couch and love seat and a chair so i had to pay another 80 dollars more than the price she didnt tell me about. After i payed , the cashier informs me that the furniture will not be in until the end of dec. , 4 weeks away, fine so be it. Three weeks go by and i get a phone call for the sales woman and she tells me that if i take the electric fire place she could maybe have some leverage with the regional boss and i could possibly get the furniture delivered and set up right in my home. Great , i said if u could do this go ahead , it could be delivered by the end of the week it is sitting in storage. I get another call from another flunkey sales rep. and he tells me they will delivery for 240 dollars and i must buy the fireplace. He gives me a price for the fireplace and extra delivery charge and it is more than 100 dollars than the quote for our original sale price from the woman sales rep. I inform him of the error and he corrects it and apologizes. I have been hearing allot of apologies lately. Lets get the ball rolling I WANT MY FURNITURE!So i pay the money. I get another call from some type of manager and she tells me that the furniture with be contracted to another carrier and will be dropped off at my home sometime in the next 2 months! And it will not be set up i must do it myself and if anything is wrong with it i must take it back to the store myself. In the mean time i have sold my old furniture in anticipation that i would have the new stuff that week. I inform her of this and again another we apologize. I asked why they wont go another 35 minutes past their range for a customer that just paid another 240 dollars for delivery and purchased 4000 dollars in product? She said thats their policy. So i politely tell her i want a refund. I hope any Canadian takes note and that our USA brothers and sisters heed this warning.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Did you get your refund? I am going to take them to court for $4,000 worth of horrible furnitue I bought.
bad customer service!
I spent $4372.00 for 2 recliner couches and one swivel recliner chair. The fabric looks like it is 3 years old and I have had this furniture less then 9 months. I started complaining 4 months ago. The tech. came out with a digital camera and took pictures that did not show the wear on the fabric. After I got word from the company that they would not repair...

We purchased a very expensive leather set from LazyBoy. After waiting months to recieve our furniture, and purchasing a warranty, the back of the sofa began to rub off. We contacted the warranty company and lived a nightmare waiting on them to arrive to "exam it". They finally decided to replace the piece (only after the salesman pushed for this) and then the replacement piece did not match in our livingroom.
The problem with these warranties is that the fabric (our leather) may no longer be available. If not, you have to pick from what they have. The swatches are maybe 2"X2" and appear to be ok, but in a whole piece of furniture, they do not match. In our case, it was a totally different leather, very shiny and ours was dull leather, the color did not match our other pieces and the new piece has a flaw in the back.
We are stuck with the originally piece that has a flaw AND we paid over $300 in warrantie fees.
DO NOT SHOP AT LAZY BOY AND DO NOT PURCHASE THESE WARRANTIES. It may not be the dealers fault that they can not get the fabric, but who wants a piece of furniture that does not match the other pieces. Most people do not even think of this. They assume the warranty will make it right. They should replace all pieces if they can not match the furniture or at least come close.
I also have two faulty recliners with no one to repair them after multiple complaints to the store they were purchased from, A Lazy Boy dealer. Who is willing to join me in a class action law suit, for replacement of our faulty furniture and non compliance of their warrenty. enough is enough
Recliner moves backward when raising or lowering leg . Pushes on carpet leaving depressions on carpet. Have used coasters under front legs but did not stop movement. Could not find higher support to see if that would stop movement.
purchased 2 recliners February 2017. one of them has a broken arm again. This has happened twice and apparently the top of the arm is made of cardboard which will not hold up to any sort of pressure. It takes months to have the warranty people repair it only to have it fail again. This is very disappointing.
I purchased 2 lazy boy recliners in 2006. Within a week I had blisters over most of my body. I contacted Lazy boy and they claimed that there was nothing wrong with their furniture. Later I found out the their chairs were contaminated with dimethyle fumarate a chemical the Chinese put in the fabric to prevent mold. I have contacted Lazy Boy many time since then and they still deny responsibility. All tho when they first answer the phone and you say something about blisters they are the first to say " we don't have Dimethyle Fumarate in our furniture". Oh! they will not answer any e-mails either. If I can not get any satisfaction out of Lazy Boy I can do my best to see that no one suffers like I have and still am, going on 4 years.
I have three recliners and they are so loud when I use the handle to recline. Does anybody have any ideas for me. Can't afford to buy three new ones.
Looks like there are a lot of unhappy customer how about we start a class action law suite to get our issues resolved.
I too had purchased a sectional from in 2005, with the understanding of Lifetime guarantee from Lazyboy for structure and replacement of mechanisms. The salesman stated everything would be covered including labor . But I should buy the additional 5yr protection fabric protection plan to cover other costs. Myself and my husband live in the house no children. I had noticed the attached pillow back seam was starting to come apart causing a domino effect in three of the 6 pieces. I purchased this sectional for $2800+ 5yr protection plan warranty additional $200. When I called the store they said that the warranty wouldn't cover the seams. However, it would cover a burn, cut if it happened within 5 days. The representative of Lazyboy stated that "Unfortunately the warranty company is very limited on coverage and alot of time they null and void warranty if any attempts of self repair". Basically agreeing with me that the whole warranty is a scam. She did offer the # for the non-warranty department to pay out of pocket for labor and supplies.
What is going on with American Companies? Do they not have any pride in their workmanship. How about making good for merchandise that is not worth $3000.00. Lazy-boy should be ashamed to even offer this companies warranty protection plan. Obviously no one cares about the consumers hard earned $$$.
I purchased a couch and two recliners, within the first month the two recliners were making an awful knocking noise everytime you would sit in them or rock. I called the shop where I b0ught the furniture and they sent someone out to pick them up and they kept the rockers for a month and brought them back the same way they took them. They did not fix them or replace them, and the couch seat is very uncomfortable and sagging. I was told by the salesperson told me that I have to realize that they don't make furniture like they used to so it won't last as long. I will never buy anything from lazy boy again and I tell everyone the same thing
lazyboy do not honor warranties!
I bought a Leather Lazyboy recliner chair for my husband that cost $1200 I bought a warranty on it also, now they tell me the warranty is no good, cause my husbands hair made it fade, come on, it was not abused, everyones hair hits the back on the chair, he uses nothing on his hair, except to shampoo it. Don't buy a Lazy Boy all they want is the money for the chair and the warranty money, they don't live up to their warranties.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Bought Aug 2017, mechanism breakdown Oct 2018.
Never again La-Z-Boy. Never!
Going to cost me over $140 to get it fixed. So much for warranty. Screw me over on the labor every year? No thank you.
After 17+years of multiple La-Z-Boy recliners, I am putting this Crandall out on the curb for Bulk Trash pickup in Nov. It is unusable.
If you wish to waste a huge pile of $$$$ quickly spend it at LaZboy.
Chair is useless after one Year!

The repairman has been here twice. First time wrong part, He took pictures and reordered. Second time same wrong part shipped. He took pictures again to reorder.
This 100% poor customer support. We pay you make the mistakes not the repairman.
You parts department needs quality control put in place. With this type service LAZ Boy will go under.
Dear sir or Madam:
I order the sofa set for Christmas of 2015 in November 2015 from J.R. Rahey's Furniturein Sydney, N.S. and received the set in February 2016. At this time I had to send the power chair back because the wooden base frame was cracked.
I received the chair back at the end of the month after repairs. Then in May 2016 I notice a mark on the right arm of the fabric (see picture sofa1 & 2). Rahey's said "they would order new fabric for the arm" They call me about a month later and took the chair and replaced the fabric. I received the chair back in June. After a month or so I started noticing a spot showing at the seam (see sofa5 pic) and it look alot like the old spot. I believe they pull down the top of the arm and lifted up the arm fabric to hide the spot under the seam and didn't replace the arm fabric at all. This can be seen in sofa chair-1 picture showing that the right arm top is lower than the left arm.
Then in December, 2016 the left arm of the chair is starting to become the same way, not only a spot, but the fabric is separating along the inside of the arm. I believe that the fabric is rubbing on the wood framing edge and there is little to no padding to support the fabric. I believe this is a flaw or mistake during manufacturing see pic's 9 to 19 and Rahey’s repair this problem. I received the chair back in January 2017.
The fabric on the foot rest started to show problems in December 2017 and a picture taken in March, 2018 shows how big the damage became. Now on March 16, 2018 the piston that controls the foot rest broke. The clamp mounted to the shaft shatter is( picture 20).
I requested the service repairs and invoices from Rahey’s to show that I was buying a Best sofa set at the time and the salesman talk us in to buying the La z boy set because it was the better set with great quality, long lasting and great warranty for a few more dollars.
I hope you can help me get this chair repaired or replaced because I feel this is the chair from hell. I would appreciate a quick response to this matter.
Thank you very much,
Herbert Currie

I agree that Lazy Boy is just in it for the money. We bought my mother a material recliner for her 80th birthday and in no time it started pilling. No matter how much my mothers defuzzes it, they always come back. Lazy Boy does not cover the material. If you "warranty" quality and workmanship, how does that not include the material it is made of.
refusing to call us back
Ordered a sofa, love seat and recliner in May. Received the product the first week of July. The sofa and love seat do not match the recliner both in color and fabric type. We have given an arm cover for each piece back to the warranty center who in turn sent it to Laz Boy headquarters in Michigan. All they would offer was a $250 credit. We took covers and compared them to the floor sample we ordered against and showed the arm covers to the sales manager and she also said they were not a match and fabric was not the same. They sent out a technician on August 7 to take pictures and he also commented that they were not the same. On August 15th we called the warranty center and they said they were still waiting for corporate to respond. We called again today and they are refusing to call us back.
The material and comfort of their furniture is great. However, ask them to show you how the pieces connect. I have never had so many problems keeping a sectional couch together and theirs cost more than anything I've ever paid for before, so I did not expect to have this problem. I will never buy one again.
We paid over 2k for this chair. After @3 years it starts falling apart. The springs that let it rock and recline start breaking. It got to the point where it wouldn't rock then overtime it wouldn't recline and stop it fell backwards totally.
The material on a chair i purchased it puckering. The material is loose which makes it look wrinkled. They replaced the chair seat, and back once. This time the chair looks worse! I could not get them to do anything more. Very disappointed with lazy boy as i have been buying their furniture for years.
2023 Controlle He called [protected], 2tx to get for help but no one ever answers the phone.
Today, 1/26 he asked me to try. He's right, no one answers the phone, 2tx.
Dennis Anderson-[protected], needs a new controller. No receipts due to it being a gift.
You may contact me Helene Kruppa [protected]. I also have the only working email.
The recliner I received does not meet the standard quality workmanship that I expect from Lazyboy for an almost $ 4000.00 chair. Delivered 11/15/23. Cust#OELLD59325
Bought chair. Normal use.
It felt a little crooked, but generally liked the chair.
5 years later... I feel like Thanos snapped his fingers and my chair is disappearing from existence.
This started occurring a few years ago. Need to get a new chair now because the 'leather' fabric is noticeably sticking to my clothes when sitting in it.
Recliner has broken weld on bracket that holds up the foot

Customer service at 855/802-6636 is non-existent. I called back and sat on the phone for literally hours on three days and no one ever answers. I can’t believe you treat customers this way. Horrible!
Make this go viral! LAZY-BOY does not stand behind their lifetime warranty on the mechanism….you can find NO ONE to repair at LAZY-BOY cost and NO ONE answers their “Comfort Care” phone line even after holding for 2 hours! The only way to make them wake up is DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS! ……. MAKE THIS GO VIRAL PLEASE…
We purchased the Reese power sofa in leather. It's as hard as a rock and the most uncomfortable sofa we ever owned. The one on the floor that we tested was obviously "broken in" and comfortable. La-Z-Boy charges a 30% restocking fee plus a fee to pick it up or I would have sent it back. $3000 in the garbage. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I bought a lazy by sectional that has one recliner. As soon as I purchased it, the recliner worked very hard & didn't seem to work right. They sent a repair man. Even when he was done, I said it still worked hard & didn't seem to work right. He also said that is how they all are. We only used the recliner 4 or 5 times & already it does not work at all. I have called Lazy Boy & I am waiting for them to call me back to fix what should have been fixed the first time. I also bought Lazy Boy for the quality & I am disappointed in my purchase. Hopefully, they can fix it this time, but I feel that the first repair man knew that it was not functioning properly & just didn't know how to fix it or just didn't care. This is not what I expect from Lazy Boy.
This company has more than 80 years in business. When you are purchasing a chair for someone else is always hard! what fits you it might not fit that someone well.
No other company out there is going to offer you parts for life or show you how that chair is build. LaZBoy does. I got three recliners from them and I am very happy with them but I also made a mistake I purchased one for for husband that was too small for him and for his weight most of their recliners can tolerate up to 300 pounds but he was more than that it was my fault. So in the end I end up buying a big man chair he has it for over five yearss!
If this chair can put up to mu husbands weight everyday & he is 355 pounds I'm sure is built to last longer than the ones out there!
Give them another try but this time if you are getting it for some else remenber to bring that someone along so you make the right choice also
if you think what they have in floor is diff. than what you get that is not the case is the same thing find out if you can pick it up at their warehouse or what if you receive it and you are not happy with it or in the end can you get the one from the floor? I still think better to find out the "what if" first.
I'm sure they eventually will work something with you...they did with me...right away the same day I called them when I got that chair and I was able to get another one instead but this time I told my husband to come with me he's the one that is going to be on that chair not me...
one of my recliners is about 15 years old still works fine!
I am a very happy lazboy customer will continue if they continue to build them the same way!
