2023.11.26 -- This complaint is about the heating time disparity between 2 microwave ovens I have used recently. One is the above inverter model from LG, rated at 1200 watts, purchased new just a few days ago. The other is an inverter model from Panasonic, rated at 1000 watts that has been in use for 2 years.
The standard I used to compare the difference in heating was a microwavable plastic pitcher containing 500 cc of room temperature tap water and the time required for both machines to heat 25°C water to 65°C when both microwaves were set at their maximum power levels. The results:
1000 watt Panasonic: 1':20", 1 minute and 20 seconds.
1200 watt LG ---------: 2':30", 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
It's obvious that the LG machine, which, as the higher power output wattage device, SHOULD have taken less time, instead required an additional 1 minute and 10 seconds, nearly double the time, to heat the same volume, same initial temperature, same container of water to the desired level. -- Both machines when tested were sitting at the identical free-standing location and connected to the same 120 VAC wall power outlet.
This disparity should not be!
Claimed loss: None, except for the exasperation of discovery of the obvious failure of heating performance of this newly purchased machine.
Desired outcome: Can someone explain how this disparity could be?Is my LG microwave defective?What can LG do to fix this newly purchased machine?
