I would like to answer the complaint of Penny posted on 8/6/08. I have two of the Havenese from this breeder and they are in excellent health, I have been at her kennel and I know they are clean, well kept and that she personally handles the births, care and feeding, loving and socializing of these puppies before they are sold. I have recommended her kennel to several friends and they also have gotten puppies, all of which were happy well adjusted puppies. I would love to understand why Darbywas ill. Did he eat something bad? Did he have a disease? Was he hurt or mistreated in someway? I do not believe it was anything that Lynda did to or for that puppy

Inexperienced buyers are not aware of the red flags when their emotions get in the way. That gives this breeder no excuse. First, if she is legitimate and in the business of breeding she MUST allow for home inspections from potential buyers. They must be able to observe the parents, the cleanliness, the social environment, toys, yard, etc. Second, if breeder does NOT register with the AKC, they are NOT legitimate breeders, in my opinion. Buyers would not be able to participate in events such as agility, obedience and other AKC sponsored events. AKC is much better than the other registries in terms of identifying the purebred dog. AKC breed clubs recommend a minimum set of standards for genetic testing of the parents. Quality breeders are breeding to better the breed as they are breeding to get another show dog for themselves. A breeder that does not show is breeding for profit and nothing more. I don't know how many litters this person produces a year but if someone is taking credit cards, I would not feel very comfortable as it would seem to feel very much like a puppy mill to me. I always say, you never know how good someone is until something goes wrong. Rave reports mean nothing when things go smoothly. It's how you handle the problems.
