Keystone is a trading name of MMS which is a trading name of Marketing Management Services Ltd, Smell a scam already, well they administer policies Underwritten by BRS International Ltd, which allegedly are Underwritten by Lloyds of London which is actually Lloyds from Chatham in Kent. you can see the problem with this story already.
So you take out and Income Protection Plan with them costing you between £30 and £40 a month per £1, 000 per month coverage. Just like I did.
There were no issues with taking it out and them taking my money. But,
When you come to claim its a different story.
I had a RTA (Road Traffic Accident) not long after taking out this policy. so when I come to claim, I was given a hard time by the staff, they were rude and condescending, even to the point that they accuse me of wrongdoing.
They told me they were going to investigate me. Proof the policy was taken out and then the accident which was not even my fault happened after taking out the policy. (Get that Accident not my fault)
The only way you can claim is by completing there claim form, first problem you have is getting a hold of a claim form, they don't like you having them.
Only after two complaints did I receive a claim form, As far as my complaint goes they sent a photocopy letter making it look like they had already sent the letter out previously.
In relation to the claim form you have to get your doctor to fill it in. You end up paying for that privilege. I didn't want it filling in they do. Still you have to pay.
Sent the claim form back with my birth certificate, They wont accept a copy. Now nothing at all from them 3 months passed since then.
Sent complaint to FOS, the FOS allow it says in the letter from MMS you can go to the FOS you cannot.
As its Lloyds they have a special deal with the FOS now I have to wait until the end of January before I can take it back to the FOS if I remain unhappy.
The people that say this policy with Keystone, MMS, Marketing Management Services, BRS International Ltd or Lloyds of London or Lloyds is good think again wait until you have to claim. Just like PPI. they will make it as difficult as possible for you to claim against the policy .
If you have a policy of there's with any of the company names i mentioned, cancel it.
If your thinking of buying a policy with these people forget it and go elsewhere. Avoid the nightmare.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Absolute nightmare when it came to making a claim. Repeatedly lost or refused to acknowlegdge receipt of documents and would only accept originals rather than copies. they cost me a lot of money only to find out later, they have the WORST industry record for payouts!
At this moment in time July 2017 I am also in a situation where through no fault of my own I lost my employment with my employer after they closed 11 Public Enquiry Counters in February 2017 making 33 staff redundant. I have a policy with MMS for £300 per month and they are refusing to pay out on this policy stating that I made myself unemployed. MMS have had all the relevant and rquested paperwork which proves this is not the case but they are still refusing to pay. To date they owe me approx £1800 in unpaid payments and also each month that passes that figure is increasing by £300. I have to agree with the comments made by the person above and I would seriously ask any other potential clients of MMS to consider these reviews.
MMS found a way to stop paying by investigating information in the public domain (facebook?) and using entrapment, avoid!
Why not get together and pressure government to help with this scam? or at least investigate miss-selling if MMs aren't paying for what the selling promise was.
Any Updates on above stories - any luck?
Did you ever get anywhere with your complaint?
I have had my premium increase 200% in 18 months. I have complained about these unfair increases to be told: "We have to increase as we are not allowed to lose money". I'll give them credit for their honesty at that point. But, the 3 most important things to remember about MMS is "AVOID, AVOID and AVOID"
BTW I have cancelled this policy
