We had our head gasket my Performance AUtomotive located in Ajax on Fuller Court. (Westney Road Ajax Area) This story is far too long to tell all so I will try to keep it short. We picked up our vehicle after 2 weeks... And could barely drive it. Power steering was gone. Took it immediately to another mechanic who advised us Power steering lines were all bent from the work tey did on the gasket. Ray Mico's shop had to replace the timing belt, and put it on backwards.. Numerous other things damaged. When all was said and done we had to pay another $3500.00 to replace the timing belt again, power steering lines etc. We went to small claims court, what a joke. He even tried to deny he knew us, then tried to fight the case saying his name wasn't Ray Mico-It is Reynoldo Mico... As versatile as the name is, his business card even said Ray Mico..! We won we were awarded judgement in our favor-About half the money, the judge deemed he did the gasket correctly, which they did-however he agreed he damaged the other parts. Here's the kicker... When you go through small claims court. it is your responsibility to get your money from the other party. Be it paying ANOTHER $500 to the courts to attempt to garnish his wages, if he even has any in his name.. (At this point my fiance and I were out $3000 including court costs and just had to wash our hands of it.) GOOD LUCK getting it from Ray... We gave up and cut our losses, learning a great lesson. SO LET THIS BE YOUR WARNING, DO NOT TRUST RAY MICO, PERFORMANCE AUTOMOTIVE-AJAX, ON.

Be VERY wary of Reynaldo ( Rey ) Mico, the person and his work.

I was an employee (mechanic) at his shop Mico Proformance Auto (Performance is correct spelling but company is registered as Proformance, he had to do a company name change due to tax issues).

There’s a reason why he had to close his shop at 170 Fuller Rd. Unit #3 Ajax, ON L1S7G9. Actually, many reasons.

This man is not only a terrible business man, he’s one of the worst and abusive employers I’ve worked for. His treatment of far too many customers and endless problems with Government and the legal system/Police finally did his shop in.

Simply lost count of the disgusting and often illegal practices. While running E-Tests if he knew a car would fail he would often take the exhaust output hose and connect it to another vehicle ( ! ) to change the reading, among other practices. MTO got wind of these things and started to investigate him. No less than 3 times had his permit revolved to participate in the E-Test program. I believe there were sizeable fines involved as well in order to reinstate it. Eventually MTO had enough of his behaviour and revoked his permit for good.

Witnessed an endless stream of very irate customers during my employ. Problems ranging from supplying the cheapest parts yet charging premium part pricing, to poorly done repairs resulting in a customer having to immediately return, to very bad attitude towards too many customers in general. I even witnessed a customer so mad at Rey’s behaviour they pulled a gun on him ! An inappropriate response to be sure, however he really did piss off the customer that much !

I also lost count of the number of times Police showed up at his shop for various complaints and practices. One stand out was a vehicle someone brought in to be certified. Rey literally did not even go outside to inspect the vehicle and signed off on it. Several months later this vehicle was pulled over on the 401. When the Police officer walked up to driver side he observed the highway through the vehicles floor ! Officer investigated who had certified vehicle and of course it landed in Rey Mico’s lap. He had many such incidents involving vehicle certification.

Witnessed Mr. Mico forging signatures on vehicle ownership slips and selling vehicles that didn’t belong to him. How he endlessly got away with such behaviour was beyond me but I know what I saw.

As an employee I eventually grew tired of the very low pay, often late pay, abusive behaviour toward me and other employees and witnessing too many pissed off customers. Also must note his very bad treatment of a couple of his family members who sometimes worked for him for extremely low pay just trying to help keep his head above water. Even they eventually grew tired of this man’s behaviour. I used to feel very frustrated and sorry for the customers he wronged.

This is the tip of the iceberg as they say. Countless other incidents to detail but this is enough to get the point across.

Highly advise people to look elsewhere for someone to repair their vehicle.
