I’m a former employee. I did not receive notice that my 401K was being swept away to this non-responsive Milliman crowd. So when I go to my Fidelity 401K account I find a zero balance in my 401K account. Fidelity tells me that my funds are in a “blackout” for 30 days – which means they are unavailable for that period -- while Milliman seizes them.
But wait! There’s more.
Then this Milliman crowd demands that I have a PIN in order to access my account, and guess what: It will be 10 days coming in the snail mail. So now I’m over 40 days into this nightmare of deception and bureaucracy and still no PIN, no access and no luck.
Then they send me a flyer telling me how I can log-in to their web site. So I follow those instructions and create a login/password – that doesn’t work.
I call the Milliman crowd’s “customer service” number – again. They tell me I haven’t waited long enough for the PIN. Days go by. Still no PIN. No web account. The alleged customer service people tell me they can’t help me with my account without a PIN. More days go by still no PIN.
I call again to get serviced, and ask for a supervisor. I get one of the persons I have already spoke with – which make wonder about her supervisory status. She says it is up to Security as to whether or no I’ll be allowed to get my password on the web changed so I can finally get to my money. But, she don’t know if that will be allowed by Security or not – and I’ll have to wait for their ruling on the matter.
So here I am. Pages of the calendar have been turned a couple of times. I still do not have my money. This could and will happen to others. BGCA employees using the 401K need to know this could happen to them. I plan to do my part in communicating this via social media. Just the facts of the matter speak for themselves.
I am also shopping for legal counsel that specializes in righting this type of wrong. I’m prepared to pay such counsel a large part or all of the money being held hostage by Milliman. After all if I can’t get it there are a lot of attorneys out there that need the work.
It seems that BGCA should exercise a little more control over their choice of providers for their employees’ 401K.
I worked for that money. I earned it. I just want Milliman to give it back to me.
I could have written this! Same exact scenario! What an absolute nightmare.
