The casting director peter will call you in to meet with him and he will tell you about the industry and will take pictures of you to "supposedly" submit to casting directors throughout canada and the u.S. A few days later he will call you back saying all of these big name casting directors are interested in you from vancouver, miami, new york, la, etc. He'll make another appointment to meet with you and charge you over $800 up front to join the agency. Beware: this agency is a huge scam. They don't submit you to any roles, like a real agency is suppose to do. They also charge extra for comp cards, about $500 (which look cheap). Please don't give your money to this agency! They are a complete waste of your time and nothing will come out of it. You'll just be giving away over $1000 to this scam artist. Please do your research before joining any agency. I have recently joined a new acting agency and I didn't have to pay one cent to join - except for a small fee to become of member of casting workbook (a reputable casting website).
Any reputable agency submits you for roles - I'm afraid Model and Talent Services doesn't. The sales person (Peter) told me I HAD to pay the fees if I was going to sign with them.
I'm glad you got one audition out of it but I'm afraid you won't get much further unless you sign with a reputable agency.
If you're looking for a reputable agency, check out ACTRA's website.
Anyway, for all of you thinking about signing with them, think again. You've been warned.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I am currently with Model And Talent Services, I needed to pay a total of $4.95 to join their website, and have gotten a role from it.
I think what you did was buy their services, or the sales person tried to get you to buy their services, (photos, videos, etc.) I already had mine, (which i had paid about $500 for) and I was able to use them.
My overall experience has been very good.
I don't know what the adobe person is talking about as he (Peter) told me about the comp cards and they are $50..not $500. And yes unlike all other agencies you do your own looking up. He gives you the list that everyone else hides...I've been with 3 other agencies that are scams..This is not. Now it's just about the talent you have. I'm getting work because of all the pictures he took of me!
Yeah Peter really scared me... it was a horrible place
This is because nothing happened to u. Who knows, u might be one supporter but this company is totally ###!
Scam scam scam! do not fall for their trap! I repeat do not sign up with this scam agency! you were warned in advance.
Its a total ### scam artist sitting and robbing around those innocent people whom are ignorant about being ripped off by skilled professional cheaters ..
I am registered member with MTS for over a year now, Peter is a nice person to work with. I’ve got 4 jobs from MTS so far. He does not charge an absurd amount for the services that he provides. You just need to register on the MTS website and charge for that is 20$ a month or 150$ for a year. I went ahead with the yearly membership and so far I have already recovered the money that I had invested by registering on the website. I suggest to everyone who has serious ambition to register here and go ahead and contact Peter he is a very helpful person.
I went to check out the company to see how they operate. I would like to report what I found out it was completely opposite from the complaint. It is a genuine talent management firm. They look into it that where do we have strengths and what are our weakness and works on them collectively in order for us to get jobs. It’s too bad that this forum allows people like the above complainant to put false allegations on such a company’s name.
I'm with mts from past 6 months and i got 3 jobs so far..so please think about it before you comment.
So John smith if that is your real name... So many talent professionals tell the opposite of how a legit agency really works, , ...countless stories are online if people want to check that out. I would also suggest that people do their due diligence in researching before handing over the money. This Peter character seems to do everything against what those professionals say of how a legit agency works.
This company is biggest scam I have ever experienced in my modelling career PETER asked me to pay him 150$ to sign up so they "wouldn't take the first 150 out my commission" I got no job no casting and no photoshoot I had photos by a friend taken he told me were ### basically then preceded to tell me I would make money if I paid him 800$ to do a proper high resolution photoshoot when I told him I "wasn't interested because he was helping in no way" he bashed me and blocked my number. I called him back from a different number and he said "this isn't welfare" they can't give you back the money.
Extremely rude and disrespectful man I worn you do not go with this company there are no casting directors no nothing they work in an empty warehouse that has nothing going on yet he says there is a lot of money in the industry. Oh please I hope he pays for his mistakes.
My name is Hannah somer and I went there and it was crazy! He wasn’t even wearing a MASK! It was like he was going to kill me and my mom! Never going there again!😭
sorry to hear that Samantha. Good that you shared your story so that you can help others avoid this scam. I guess so many people are blinded to achieve fame & fortune. That's why they make easy prey to scam artists. I remember my own experience with ANU Agency in Toronto but I had the good sense to head for the hills before they completely fleeced me.
This is true Peter is not running an honest business he did the same to me this year, 2017, promised big roles in LA, NY and elsewhere. Then I when I finally gave him my money, 150, it wasn't enough, he needs another 500 to take professional photos of me and none of this was disclosed before. He truly stops reaching out after you give him the money. I received the most communication from him up until I payed. I worked for my 150 and he's truly providing false hopes for his financial benefit. Do not give him your money or any talent services, go to a unionized service, model and talent services will scam you!
Peter is innpropriatre and unprofessional. I did get my $150 back, only because my brother is a lawyer and his firm backed me up.
First of all, we don't promise anything! We provide PAID opportunities in entertainment field and we are looking for only for serious and dependable people. This is actually a reason why we are charging $150 dollars to get involved. We are not deducting first $150 dollars of commission due to the company thus our members who are diligently working, will get their $150 dollars back and much more :)
We are Management Company, so it is important to tell my clients what they need to succeed. Tools of the trade such as PHOTOS or DEMOREELS are very important, so if our members do not have appropriate PHOTOS in their profile it is necessary to inform them what they need to be booked .
Since acting and modelling is SHOWBUSINESS, they need sometime to invest in their business in order to do well, just like any other business has to. Spending few hundred dollars for photos for something that is your life goal is not much anyway if this is what you really want to do.
We provide Canadian talent with Canadian opportunities, not jobs in LA or NY as complainant mentioned. There are enough opportunities here!
The anonymous complainant mentioned that I stop personally reaching out after membership is paid. I'm constantly in touch ONLINE with our members by providing UPDATES and DAILY casting notices to our members.
I wish I could satisfy and make everybody happy, but that is personally impossible and that is why we are using our unique BOOKING SYSTEM.
I'm inviting this particular anonymous individual to call me so we can discuss things further and hopefully resolve our differences:)

He is kinda scary and didn’t even wear a MASK when I had an interview with him!
I was kinda scared of you when you didn’t wear your mask when I saw you
He scared me to DEATH by not wearing a mask when I was with my mom. Even it was COVID! He was like going to get me SICK
lol common guy just look at the website and the ridiculously cheesy videos on their youtube channel and you can tell they are not professional at all. The website is so ugly. http://modelandtalentservices.com
Well, our system is designed not to be "beautiful" but designed to provide PAID ASSIGNMENTS! we spend time getting GIGS not redesigning websites.
Our videos are very very different and right to the point! That is why they are effective and this is what our members want.
The above critic is invited to call me and drop in in person so we can learn from his taste and development skills.

We refunded your money because we did not WANT YOU TO BE WITH US!, not because of your brother.

Peter, I decided to read some of these comments because I just received a message from someone @ your company, and I wanted to have an idea of the experience of others before returning the call. What Ive seen here has been a bit of a put off. And, truely, it's not the negative reviews and comments that have done that so much as your own responses to them. I'm wise enough to know that a couple of disgruntled and dissillusioned folks can encourage the process of "group-thinking" well enough to generate a whole slew of rhetoric that is/or may be false. But it's been your own replies that gave me the most insight into what sort of a personality you bring to the table, and what sort of a business just left me a phone message.
I also know that not wanting to work with an individual for the implied reasons that you do not care for him personally is unprofessional - AND - (perhaps more anecdotally) is no viable excuse for giving him a full refund. Businesses are already pretty famous for doing all they can to hold onto your money and not give it up unless it become obvious that not to do so would conflict with their best interests. So saying otherwise does come across as just being not only defensive, but slightly vindictive as well.
I also think of the years, Peter, that you said you've been in business. And I can't help but wonder why in that time you have not realized that your engaging in these arguments with persons on the web really do your business a disservice. Why have you not realized the best way to deal with disgruntled humans? Clearly you are a highly emotional person, and yet so too are we all. The difference is that, just as many of those who post here, you don't seem to be in control of your emotions in the business space. There are many possibilities that may be behind this idea, and they range from mildly disconcerting to downright scary. Now, I'm certainly not going to venture a guess as to which is a characteristic of your personality that makes it hard for you to keep the lid on the steamer, and I am certainly not trying simply to make a list of your dirty laundry here. What I am trying to do, and have been doing for a long time, is obtain an accurate picture of what it would be like to deal with a person or business given what details I have about their past/current behavior - because through behavior one may trace motivations, values, and belief systems - and all of those things yield more truth about the situation than the person in question COULD do even if they wanted to. So, from these few observations I have formed the ideas that:
~If I went ahead working with your company, and, ever had cause to take up an issue of some sort, the customer service may not be empathetic in nature.
~It MAY even be frustrating on a sort of "micro" level, in day to day affairs.
~ While it is sometimes the case that an agency will work with high level 'talent' at no or very negligible up front fees, they will, at the very same time, have a completely different business model reserved for working with 'lower' talent clients in which lots of $ is attempted to be suck out of them, with little realistic prospects at success. If I happen to fall into the latter category, I really need to acknowledge that fact and then do what I can to work on what I bring to the table, while in the meantime, not get into an unsavory business deal. Not saying this for Peter, but more or less for everyone else. And I'm not saying his business is necessarily like that at all, but, it's a universal truth that everyone should be ok with. And Peter, if your business DOES take on this model, than I respectfully plead with you to stop. If you really cannot place someone for whatever reason, or have little hope of doing so, to take their money while selling them realisation to their own dream is bad. People who are very very short sighted in life see these types of opportunities and think it points the way to easy money. But people to any more money because they think it will make them happy. MONEY DOESN'T EQUAL HAPPINESS, and neither do possessions. Happiness comes from within, and through realising our connection with one another, and with all things, and through things like empathy, compassion, and love.
I am not going to say whether or not I decided to return the call. It would be unfair. But a suggestion to Peter would be, please pay someone to do PR for you. It could make a big difference. Also, concerning relations with your clients in business and in life, "empathy" should really be your basis, and everyone's. You'll be surprised how much things will change for the better if we all empathize as much as possible. Where you think you'll loose clients, you'll gain them. When you think you'll loose money, you'll gain it - even if in the long run.
Plus everyone will be happier. Which is the reason why we do anything.
Only soulless people like you can do what you do...You will be held accountable one day for the harm you have done...
Lmfao calm down bro... I got a call from this dude and yeaa, tone down the CAPS LOCK! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR ENDEAVORS. YOU DO KNOW THE MODELS ARE HOW YOU GET PAID. WE GET PAID WITH OR WITHOUT AND AGENCY. TREAT PEOPLE BETTER [censored].
You should never have to pay money to any agency, ever! a real agency wouldn't even recommend supplying you with headshots and demo reels - those are all fake. legit agencies have a license number and don't care if you send a photo through the camera on your phone. I don't like scammers in my city. I represent the west coast... and this man decided to post a kijiji ad in my city on the west?!?!?!?! I make it a commitment to myself to report any scammers since i've been in the industry for so long! it's awful what people do to young men and women who want to live creative lives. being in the industry for almost 5 years, I know a scammer when I see one. "a few days later he will call you back saying all of these big name casting directors are interested in you from vancouver, miami, new york, la, etc. he'll make another appointment to meet with you and charge you over $800 up front to join the agency."
I never heard of something so awful :(
Upfront Fees B.S.
Hi Everyone, let me tell you about this scam artist - PETER [protected]) and his scam company - MUSIC AND TALENT SERVICES - http://musicandtalentservices.com
PETER asks for an upfront fees of $120 to "enter you in his database for acting roles" and if you say no to him, PETER will come back at you shouting and discouraging you about your future on phone calls.
This was so disturbing that I was almost going to report PETER to the police!
So girls (and guys) please stay away for your own sanity. Do not be duped by this scam run by PETER. Stay focussed and follow your dreams. If something smells fishy, it probably is, double check!
Thanks
Never going there again!
I got an interview today, Im not gonna go because this company sounds like a scam so thanks everyone
Yes thanks everyone, I had a meeting scheduled for Monday (he did seem a little eager, I only contacted them last night at like 2AM and he wanted me to come in today!) but I'm not going to risk it. One thing I know for sure - they're definitely not busy! I've never done this but I feel like there would probably be some sort of delay for review, fitting me in, whatnot. With my business I call back hours if not a day or two later, then schedule at least 4-5 days away because I'm usually busy until then. Within 10hrs I had a phone call asking if I can come down, and for half of those hours people are sleeping.
The guy was nice on the phone and everything, liked the idea I have blue eyes lol; he texted me confirmation of our appointment, but after reading all this it's not worth the bother. Why get all worked up over it when I can go somewhere like ACTRA? (Read in a news article that they're pretty reputable and scrutinize a lot of other scams.) If I go and he asks for money I'll probably just get pissed anyway: people are saying that they ask for $150 upfront and frame that as though it's ideal for you, instead of taking commission off your first job; in what world is that preferable? With commission you already worked, commission is like saying 'Hey, thanks for the job.' Upfront there's no guarantee you'll even get work. And isn't the only real job of a talent agent to do the legwork for you? Explains why they're not busy haha their models are doing all the work. Peter's talking about you basically being your own agent for a fee and then spazzing when people scrutinize MTS.
Just seeing how DRAMATIC! and UNPROFESSIONAL! Peter is on here with his CONSTANT CAPS and !EXCLAMATIONS! tells me he's a little too emotional and maybe doesn't really know what he's doing (I mean really, who talks like that? let alone a respectable professional who's supposed to be getting you work). Business 101: Customer's always right. You bite your lip and do what you have to do to keep them happy and coming back if you ever expect to grow. It's annoying but it's true: someone fusses over a job you did, you go back and fix it - especially if you're a small company. Damage control, plain and simple.
A well-established company would conduct themselves far more civilly than this and not pander to every little complaint on the internet - the breeding-ground for complainers anyway that most of us take with a grain of salt. If they did, the rep certainly shouldn't be basically shouting at you.
It's funny because by defending himself so dramatically he actually does a profound disservice to MTS. Turned me off. It's a shame too, MTS, Orange Models, Elite, Ford, based on what I've read they're all garbage.
Same Peter Karel Holub, out of jail and back at it:
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/modelling-agency-scam-nets-jail-terms-for-fraudulent-operators/article25467387/
Hey everyone, just wanted to update - checked out their FB page and it advertises global opportunities in their video, though Peter said here that it's pretty much exclusively local.
Found a great site you should all read: https://www.ontario.ca/page/modelling-and-talent-agencies-your-rights
Quoted some below but Definitely Read the Whole Article if this is a line of work you're pursuing. Hope this helps! :)
Fake Talent Agents:
"If you are approached out of the blue in public by a talent agent, this should be a red flag. Most reputable talent agencies do not approach models and actors this way and ***rarely represent you if you have no experience*** or training.
If you see a casting call on an ***online classifieds site*** or in the newspaper, be careful. Reputable talent agencies usually don’t advertise their services to the general public."
Photo Mills:
"In this scam, a talent agency tells you that you need an expensive portfolio of photos in order to get modelling or acting jobs. The agency will say you have to work with a specific photographer or studio, and they will pressure you to purchase photos on the spot.
If you already have a portfolio of photos, the agency will refuse to use it or will pressure you to add more photos.
After the agency collects your money, you typically never hear back from them about any work.
***Legitimate agencies don’t require you to buy photos*** or insist that you only use a particular photographer. If a talent agency wants you to pay for photos up front, ***walk away.***"
Good luck everyone!
you really got my hopes up didnt you? :(
